After Nestor Gomez left yesterday and after further consideration I am declining the special from GO Contractors. The reason being is the following: The work that needs to be done is minimal and can easily be done by one person, well under 3 hours (Repointing a few bricks). The offer of 2 people for 1 1/2 hours is unacceptable, disingenuous , and not what was advertised. It purposely lends itself to additional time and money. Please refund my $120.00 ASAP. Failure to do so, will result in me contacting American Express and doing it on my end.

I had a deal for fixing the small retaining wall and Mr.. Gomez got right back to me and came out to give me a estimate for the job I needed done. While there he recommended that the front wall should be washed and the front steps needed to be re-pointed. I agreed and he said he was busy right now and would get back to me with a date for the work. I was not in any hurry so that was fine with me. It took a little longer than I thought but the company did a fine job when they came.

In both instances, he gave me estimates that were incredibly high. In the first instance, I bought a deal for $1500 and he quoted me about $14,000 total. He then gave me a $4,000 "discount" for being a member with Angie's. That was still astronomical. I don't think GO Contractors operates fairly.

The contract was issued in mid August 2014 and was scheduled to take 1 week. The project started off rocky when Mr. Gomez notified us that the brick we selected was special order and would take 3 weeks to come in. At the time he presented the brick samples for our review, he did not tell us/did not know the brick was special order. After the brick finally arrived 4 weeks later, the project started. The project was delayed yet again because Mr. Gomez underestimated the amount of brick needed for the project and had to place another order that delayed the project another 4 weeks. In the meantime, the other minor reporting job was started and completed but the cleanup of the brick was not done and red mortar was left all over the section of the porch wall repaired. By the time the final brick work on the stairs was performed, it was December 2014, 4 months later. Throughout the project, the contractor did not always show up when he said he would or did not show up on time. This was dismaying and confusing since I had used this contractor previously and he did an exceptional job, was timely, and did a good job cleaning up. The very reasons he was selected for this project, which did not follow suit. Communication was inconsistent, the project was never finished even after the winter was over. The contractor did not bother to come back even after he contacted us in March 2015 stating he was following up on unfinished projects. Overall, the majority of the brick work was completed and was nicely done but the project was not finished and the final required acid wash was never completed. We reached out to Mr. Gomez in March about completing the job and he said he would but he never showed up and stopped responding.

My patience was shot and I cancelled.

They never did any work for me. I received an estimate that was about $1,000 higher than the next bid. I wrote him and asked if he'd come to the house and walk through the design with me to see if we could trim some of the costs. He called me and we talked about it and he agreed to meet me at my home Sunday morning. We never showed up, didn't call or email and we've simply never heard from him again.

We had an appointment scheduled for 4/24. I tried to call both Wednesday and Thursday to confirm our appointment and wasn't able to get in touch with them. On Thursday they picked up the phone and said Hello, but then never said anything else. They never showed up for the appointment or gave a courtesy call to reschedule. I even called Friday after 1pm and they never picked up. I had to sit at home all day waiting for them. I've requested a refund.

I purchased the coupon, and at first things seemed ok. However, the contractor never ended up providing the service and I'm out $99. He came by to do an estimate, and quoted an additional cost on top of the coupon (another $200 or so dollars). Then every time I tried to schedule the actual work, there was a problem. He rescheduled/cancelled on me 2 or 3 times, and I finally gave up on him coming out to do the work. I found another guy who did the whole job well for $250, and he came back the day after he did the estimate to do the job. I wouldn't use Go Contractors for any job based on my experience; the primary problem is communication with the customer. I have no idea what their workmanship is like.

Nestor and his crew were great. Even though I was a little bit out of their service area, Nestor was able to assist me. They were prompt. He had great suggestions to stop the leaks from my basement. The guys first replaced an aging fence. Then dug down like 8 feet on the leaky side of my house inserted a membrane against my foundation and then replaced the dirt and bricks. All work performed was done well the workers were great and the job was finished on schedule. I will be using these guys again.

They arrived on time and did a good job. They did give me a statement, however, it was not itemized. I wish it were so that I could see exactly what I was paying for and for how much. They ended up having to come back to do the repairs three times due to the weather, so I knew it was going to be more expensive than the deal I paid. They were definitely here more than the 3 hours I paid for because they had to keep rescheduling because of the weather. They did work hard. We did have a couple things that needed touched up and they were very good about coming back and doing those repairs.

They came out in the winter and because it was dealing with concrete and repairing mortar they said they would come back in the spring. I called them the following spring and he forgotten but none the less he sent contractors out to do the work. When the workers arrived, they did not speak English, so everything that I needed them to do, I had to point at it for them to understand. The job they did was deplorable. They were supposed to repair mortar, but it was done badly. They took brick and made the mortar pure white and they left it that way. I was very very dissatisfied. I ended up having to have someone else paint over the mortar to make it less noticeable. I would not recommend them to anyone. Seemed as if they did not know what they were doing. They were very nice, but did not know what they were doing.

He came out for an estimate and did not start work. He wanted to charge me $1000 for the work and I thought that was too much. He only had a notebook and pen. I just needed some bricks reattached under the porch. I am not sure why he could not do the work. He advertises three hours of work, but comes out only to do an estimate.

Contractor came out and explained that this work had to be done by the city. He was professional and polite. I had no problems.

I am only responding now so as to avoid the pop-up every time I sign on to Angie's list asking me to rate this service-- Basically, they were swamped by responses to their Angie's list special and couldn't respond in a timely fashion. I needed some pointing work done on my house, I paid for a set price for set time $99 special through Angie's list. I didn't get any reply for some time, and I ended up having a work conflict on the delayed day eventually scheduled for them to come out. they were very apologetic about the initial delays and might well have rescheduled again, but by this time I needed the work done immediately so as to put my house on the market. So I found that the outfit doing landscaping had someone who could do that. I voluntary told GO that they could keep the fee paid through Angie's list.

Update: It was awful; they didn?t show up on time. When they got there, I showed them some cracks they didn?t fill up, and now that same spot they said they repaired is falling apart again. Whatever concrete they used was not good.

We couldn't be happier with the work! We had been having issues with water in our basement, and we wanted to try repairing the bricks on the outside before looking into more invasive fixes. They came out to look at the exterior of the house, and determined that it would be more work than our BIG DEAL. They pointed out the work that would be needed, including a powerwash of the area, fixing some concrete work that was clearly done by the previous homeowner, repointing some brickwork, and filling in some holes in the mortar. They were late in coming out the day the looked at the work (hence the B in timing), but they did call and let me know they were running late, which I appreciated. We liked their work so much that we are having them come back out to look at the rest of our house and see if there is additional work that needs to be done.

Well I bought 4 hrs. for 120 of Masonry work deal. I paid more because the job was much more time and needed new bricks etc. Seemed like a fair price.which included a discount for being Angie List customer. I received a call and set a time for an estimate and they came out a little late. Showed up to do the work as scheduled and came back the following day to finish. First day two men worked most of the day and three the next. Asked if which color brick was best and showed samples. Came back after a couple of days and cleaned the mortar with acid and pressure wash. Looks really great now. Nester promised he would come back if I have a problem in the first year and even after that.

Initially, I requested to have the exterior of my chimney repair. However, it was suggested that based on the condition of the chimney, it would be best to have it done a better way, costing $2,235.00. I stated to Mr. Nestor, that I would check with my insurance company to see if they would cover the cost., which the insurance company would not. I decided, that since G.O Company is contracting company, I recommended other options, and was told that the $99 is only good for masonry, however, Mr. Nestor did compromise. I had suggested to have interior painting done, along w/correcting an electrical outlet, and would be charged $590.00. At that time, I was unable to proceed with the offer due to flooding in my basement, which occurred three times, over the 2014 holidays. So I asked for a refund. I did not receive a response. In the meantime, I a purchased two faucets, to replace the old ones, and called G.O. Company to install the faucets. Mr. Nestor gave me a price of $250.00 to install the faucets. I agreed to the offer, however, I decided to have only one installed since the $99 had already been applied. Mr. Nestor was scheduled to install the faucet on 3/12. He never showed up.

The estimator was punctual and Informative. Scheduling however, was difficult. When the workers arrived after a few erscheduled appointments, it was almost dusk. They (a group of four) worked for an hour, partially after dark. It shows. I was told by the estimator that they would match the grout color but it is now a year after work was done and the repairs are still cream on a the original grey grout. The "pointing" was done quickly and not finished smoothly. I have never written a bad review before. In all fairness to the workers I don't understand why they were sent out so late in the day. My four hours of repair work became a rushed mess of four men on my narrow front stairs, all trying to get the job done before nightfall. I'd hoped for a good job since I have lot's of other stone and brick work to be done.

It was a horrible experience. They cut into main power line to the meter. The power company said it was my responsibility to pay. They did more work than I asked and then charged me for it.

Arrived promptly. Courteous and professional. It was a Big Deal for 3 hours. Needed extra half hour. Agreed on charge for extra time. Work done neatly. Totally Satisfied.

The job was well done, they ended up coming to the house three times. I told them that I didn't want the job to go over the 4 hours promised in the Big Deal. They ended up working 2 hours over to get the work done but agreed to not charge me since there was some miscommunication and they wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the service.

They were very efficient. We were not expecting them but they did top notch work.

Perfect. Exceeded expectations.
