This was the most disappointing contractor experience I have ever had. Calls and e-mails were left unreturned for weeks. I finally heard from the owner, Nestor Gomez, and an appointment was scheduled. I took off work assuming that the painting would be completed, but the painters did not come. Only Nestor Gomez to do a "quote" on my one room of paint covered by the Big Deal. I had all the supplies and only wanted the one room painted, so this was a waste of my time and vacation days. A second appointment was scheduled for the painting to be done the next week. I took off work again, and they were scheduled to begin work at 8 a.m. on a Monday. The painters never showed up (!) and didn't contact me to tell me they wouldn't be coming!!!! I waited all day, sent e-mails and calls which were unreturned. Nestor Gomez finally responded to my e-mails days later and offered no apology or explanation. This was the text of his response: "They will be there Thursday around 8 am. confirm please if is fine your. thank you." This was a cut and paste, not my typo. I have requested and am awaiting a refund from Angie's List. I hope Angie's List reviews whether to do any more Big Deals with this contractor (there is one currently being offered). This was above and beyond a negative experience.
Description of Work: The Big Deal was for painting of one room for $125. The service was not performed because GO Contractors did not show up as scheduled and did not return my calls and e-mails that day to find out when to expect them/what happened. I have requested and am awaiting a refund from Angie's List.

Took a while for them to actually come on site after initial assessment (~month). Results are ok, not exact color match but good enough for the price.

The job was well done, they cleaned up and high pressure washed all the surfaces. Again, they only issue ,and we are talking it about is to see what can be done with the walkway. But based on the work and the overall results I am satisfied and I would use them again if I needed this type of work done. I feel confident in the work and I am Nestor's consistent follow-up.
Description of Work: The main front entry steps - which were old red brick had deteriorated over the past 6 years due to various weather conditions and age. They are probably part of the original house which is over 40 years old. They were unsafe and looked bad. The front walkway also had a large and a small crack. Go Contractor's (Nestor Gomez) came out and assessed the issue. He was personable, professional and explained in detail what could be done. I also had him, look at the back patio deck where the large concrete slabs joints were also in need of repair. He gave a fair quote on doing the work, it was expensive, but there was plenty to do and it needed to be done. His crew came out and started the work and they worked consistently and with a purpose. The crew asked questions when they felt they needed my feedback. The job was well done, the stairs required that 30 bricks needed to be removed and or replaced and one step was out of code (more than 7 inches high) it was actually 11inches...so they made an adjustment that was well done and matched perfectly and solved a long time problem with the steps. Additionally, the side slab that framed the steps needed repair and they did that as well. They fixed the joints in the slabs on the back patio with mortar. They removed a 4x4 section of the walkway that had the large crack and replaced it with concrete. That was the one point that I should have asked about before they started. Once the new concrete was poured and dried the contrast in color with the existing sidewalk (light brown mixed with river rocks impeded) and now this replaced part has too much contrast. I am talking with GO Contractors to see what can be done to make this look better.

I was unable to get the work performed given the fact that the contractor was unable to perform the duties I needed. He was pleasant and responsive and even came by my home to inspect the work I needed. Unfortunately, what I needed had nothing to do with his line of work but he was very professional throughout the process.

They were terrible I didn't like anything that they did. I had to keep calling him he would not call you back. I had to threaten to ask for a refund before I could get him to return to finish the work. I think he was running his business out of his home. It was very hard to contact the staff, he was about 2 hours late. They did the work on time but they didn't match the molter. The whole thing was sketchy and I would not use him again. He sent me a email stating that was my receipt for the job.

Didn't like the contractor's response. First of all, I purchased the service on 6 Apr, but didn't hear from them until I contacted them two weeks later. And then, the contractor said it's too far to travel and couldn't provide service. I don't think the distance was that far and if so, they should have limited/listed the service available area/distance before I paid for the service. Called Angies' list. They said they will either find me another contractor or reimburse the amount.

The only reason I gave them a "C" for responsiveness is because when I purchased the deal, it said that they would contact me immediately. They never did and I had to call them a couple of times before I got a response. Other than that, they did a very good job with everything. I am very satisfied with their work.

I was disappointed that 2 men couldn't complete all areas in 2 hours. They also left a few little rough spots that required further sanding before I painted. I usually do small drywall patching myself, so have an inkling of what's involved. I really think they could've done a better job.
Description of Work: I had some cracked drywall in my stairwell and a small hole from a banging door. I also had a 7" square that had been cut out and needed to be put back in and patched. A nice man came to look at the work areas, then called suddenly 2 weeks later asking if his guys could come that day. Two men came, worked for 2 hours, completing all but the square patch job.

Excellent. I was contacted by Go Contractors. An appointment set up - I took pictures prior to the appointment and the workers came and did the repair.
Description of Work: The two ends of a stone step were re-positioned due to the settling of the step. One stone had to be separated from the railing. lowered and then cement put in. Both were re-pointed. The joint between the step and the walk-way was redone.
They were very good. Filled in all the cracks. They cleaned behind themselves. Stayed until the job was complete and did not pressure me for payment. Did not ask for payment until after the job. Very flexible with my schedule request.
Description of Work: Came out to do some repairs on brick work and then mortar in between the bricks. Replacement of bricks that had chipped. Put in new drains, deck had cracks in the side and did the masonry work on my sundeck. They also did concrete filler to hold cast-iron in place. They sand blasted my patio deck and filled in cracks with concrete on the deck. They also sand-blasted the front porch. Used my Big Deal coupon from Angie's List.

Nestor responded immediately to my request for an estimate. We scheduled it for about a week later. When he came out he gave me an honest opinion of what would be very expensive and what would be a good use of money based on our needs (fixing up concrete in back yard in preparation to sell home). He gave me a detailed estimate on the spot and his team came out the following day. They completed the entire project, were very neat and professional. Would use team again.

I bought the deal in the fall but weather and other circumstances kept me from having the work done until spring. The contractor worked with me on this and honored his original quote. Once scheduled the workers arrived as planned and went right to work. They did a good job and even cleaned up any mess. It had rained that morning so they covered the stoop with plastic just in case it might rain again. I have already had compliments from a neighbor that also needs the same repair.

Premises not thoroughly cleaned after the job was done. Small piles of concrete left on the steps and on the driveway. They started on time the first day. Most of the work was completed on that day. Work on the brick edging had to be done the next morning.
Description of Work: GO repaired several small brick walls that are part of the front yard landscape. They reinforced some brick edging next to a hill on one side of the front yard by relaying the bricks on a bed of rebar-reinforced concrete below grade. Then there were several places on the mortar of the chimney and the brick facade of the house which were repointed. They also replaced some bricks in the wall of the house and chimney.

Mr. Gomez was very helpful throughout the project. He listened to my ideas, and made suggestions accordingly. While I think the overall cost was a little high the work was A+ in all respects. They also cleaned up well, and even came back to pressure wash the stone a few days later. Since we did not know the extent of the project before we started; we were too far into the project to get additional estimates. We have done other Angies Deals and our experience is that the "Deal" seldom covers everything. Depending on your project; keep that in mind.
Description of Work: At first we just signed up for the Angies Deal to have some mortar replaced between the slate tiles on our porch floor. Because the work could not be done during the winter water got in the joints , froze, and lifted some of the slate tiles. Further investigation showed there were many loose tiles so we decided to take the entire porch up (about 150SF) and reset with new, better, grout. Since all the slate could not be removed in one piece, they broke, we tried to find replacement pieces. After two weeks of looking we could not find an exact match. At that point we decided to put flagstone to match the walkway. That added $950 for the new material to the original contract.

We still need to have the masonry joints on our flastone patio (laid on concrete and very solid) pointed up.
Description of Work: They came did an estimate (which they did not give us) for $4500 to point up masonry on patio. It seemed excessively high as my husband used to work for a masonry contractor as an estimator. They did no work, when they called much later to ask about doing the work, my husband said estimate was too high and were they going to perform work for which we paid (4 hours or masonry repair), they said they would come this past weekend which they did not do nor did they call.

Paid for but did not receive service. Would like my money back.
Description of Work: I bought two 4-hour coupons to do exterior masonry work to the front of my home. The contractor came out and we discussed what work would be done for that amount of time. He promised to put me on the schedule in 2-3 weeks. That went by and he never called. Then winter settled in and he could not do exterior work. I called him again about a month ago and he said he would arrange to do the job. No further contact. Paid for services not received. Nice guy and knew what he was doing. It's too bad as I was prepared to recommend a mason to my business clientele.

I purchased an Angie's Deal of $99 for masonry repair in October 2012 because my front steps -- installed about 15 years earlier -- were pulling away from the house. In the process, a couple of the bricks where the rail was anchored had cracked. I thought I'd emailed the contractor in October, but later could find no record of the email or an email address for him. Since I was going to be away in November, I didn't pursue the matter until December. Mr. Gomez came out the week before Christmas and looked at the job and said he would call back to schedule the repair. I called and left a message in February because I hadn't heard from him, and called and talked to him in early March. He said he would return my call, but didn't. In late March I called to say that I was going to ask Angie's List to return my $99. Mr. Gomez apologized profusely and the winter weather had made masonry work very difficult and promised to have someone come out the following week. Two workers from Go Contractor came April 3, bringing replacement bricks. One of them again apologized for the delay in getting the work done. They removed the cracked bricks, mortared in the new ones and mortared the gap between the house and the steps. They did a beautiful, highly professional job on the steps and cleaned up after themselves. I am very pleased with the work and with my Angie's Deal. Mr. Gomez could benefit from better communication practices, keeping customers informed of difficulties that might delay his workers. But he has chosen courteous and skilled people to do the work. I'm very happy to have the work done so well.
Description of Work: Several broken bricks were replaced in my brick front steps and the gap between the steps and house was mortared. Mortaring was done to repair other cracks.

. When he came out here, I felt like I was getting totally soaked. The amount of work was only a few hours of work. When he came out here he said it had to be done professionally and was more complicated. He said it would take two or three guys to do this. He said it was going to cost another $460 on top of the original $100. Any good mason could knock this out in two or three hours by himself.
