Most importantly we hold ourselves accountable to maintain the respect, honesty, and good communication with our clients daily. GO Contractors LLC has 35 years of experience in this field of work. I purchased this deal on April 10, 2013. I sent an e-mail to the company after purchase. Within a couple of weeks, Mr. Gomez, the owner, came to my home and told me the repairs would total approximately $1,000. I told him I wasn't interested in a major repair of my chimney because I was planning to sell my home early next year. He said okay, he agreed he would do this job but he could no longer come to Prince William County again since it's so far away (his company is located in Silver Spring, Maryland) so I do understand. Since then I have tried to follow-up by phone and e-mail messages. I have spoken to the Angie's Big Deal Help Desk asking for assistance. They have tried to contact G. O. Contractors and messages are left but no response. It's my understanding that companies who offer Big Deals or other deals on Angie's List must meet a certain criteria. I see other reviews left by other members similar to my review. How can a company continue to offer a lack of customer service and continue in this vain? I note within the last 2 weeks, G. O. Contractors offered this same deal 4 hours for $99 of masonry work and a second one, 4 hours for $200. In the fine print for both deals, it still did not limit its locations in the Washington, D.C. area. The $99 deal has since been removed. I will gladly modify this review once the work has been performed. Update: 12/5/13 I had to buy the $200 deal and cancel the $99 deal in order to have G. O. Contractors performed the needed repair. Even though the $99 deal was the same as the $200 deal, I purchased the higher price deal then the company was responsive to my request. The work is scheduled to be performed spring 2014. I will update this review at that time.

The service was good, and the price was reasonable. They didn't match the cement color; however, and now the patchwork sticks out like a sore thumb. I would consider using them again if they would come out and redo the patching with the correct cement color.

The work that was completed was fine, but scheduling and actually getting the contractor there was a nightmare. The contractor missed several scheduled appointments, and it took literally months to get the work, which might have taken 30 minutes, completed.

Professional in reviewing project that I thought was a small simple repair. It wasn't simple. Took several days, first to take out and put in new slate, let it set a couple days and then finish and clean up.

the owner came to the site to gather the requirements, was professional and friendly and worked with me to get the work done within my budget. however, workers were to show at 0800 but arrived at 3:00 in the afternoon. Apparently they had car trouble but did not inform the owner, who did not inform me. I had to call a couple of times to ensure they were coming and I had to rent a u-haul truck for an extra day because of the delay.

We phoned and emailed GO Contractor several times over weeks and finally received a "partially literate" email response (Our email exchanges can be forwarded to Angie's upon request.) GO estimator did arrive on day and time specified. GO estimator, working on his own, scribbled illegible estimate terms for both jobs on a piece of scrap paper, containing at least two other clients' names and addresses, and big "X"s. (We can email Angie copy of this too) GO's cost numbers and and wording were just too vague for us to decipher or discern detailed material and labor costs. Estimates for optional material or job completion were not offered by GO. GO's bottom lines with coupons: Paint estimate = $1,125 or more. Masonry estimate = $ 1,755 or more. My husband was not comfortable with the GO estimator's unprofessional documentation and weak attempt to explain his written estimates. We will not use either of these coupons, and have learned lesson: do not buy two coupons from contractor at same time, when their performance as estimator and service provider are still unknown to us. Sorry for delay in this follow up. We have used Angie's very successfully in the past, and hope to use successfully again. Maria O'Connell
Description of Work: Cost estimate for labor and materials for two coupons - ("$99 for 4 hours Masonry Repair!" and, "$125 for 4 hours of Drywall/Plaster Repair - or 1 Room of Paint!") provided after several requests. We had two jobs needing estimates - a small 14' x 12' room, that needed re-coat of same color white paint, and about a dozen loose bricks that needed new mortar/re-pointing on outside steps and driveway retaining wall.

I call this contractor (Nestor) numerous times. His voicemail greeeting promises to return calls within 24 hours. I made no less than three calls and none were returned. He finally answer on the fourth, and I was able to get him to the house within a week. I showed Nestor a window that has been leaking and where the mortar had deteriorated. He agreed that it needed to be replaced and he would go further to remove old caulk and repoint the area below the sill. The second area was a small retaining wall in my back yard that had two displaced bricks that needed to be reattached with fresh mortar. Within a week, Nestor gave me an estimate, and the work was planned for Friday, June 28th. He did not show or communicate a postponement. Then on the proceeding Monday, July 1, someone from a company (identified as a handyman) other than G.O. showed up and worked on the window sill only. Who was this company? I paid for the services of a mason, not a handyman. The work was sloppy and unprofessional. The handyman simply applied new mortar over the existing without cleaning preparing the brick. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. In addition, the work area was a mess and mortar was not cleaned from the house. Finally, the retaining wall was never repaired. Shame on Angie's List for selling the services of a terrible and disreptuable contractor. I no longer have faith in this site. Such a disappointment.

I kept calling them to try to get something scheduled and I could never get something scheduled. They wouldn't call me back and should beyond that I thought I got a refund for that. They never did any work so I can't review their work, but I remember that they didn't return my calls and I was pretty rushed to get it done and pretty flexible in terms of time, but it was like while over a month and they still haven't gotten to it. I just told him forget it and I went with somebody else. I would not use them again.

After I first tried to set up the deal, he put it off until summer time, because it wouldn't go well in the winter. He finally came out for an estimate after quite some time of setting up the time to come out. And he wanted to upsell me on a lot of services, even though I just needed one brick done. After he finally agreed, it seems his phone has been disconnected. So the work has still not been done.

I was not satisfied with not so much the work but how they handled the deal because I ended up having to pay additional money. I felt like it was a scam where they left a guy on the job and then went off for over an hour, came back and said he wanted to bill me for 2 hours worth of work when they only worked for only 1 hour. They didn't show up when they said they were going to show up. They didn't do what they said they were going to do. I called the owner. He spoke with me right away and I'm not sure what the conversation was with his worker but the worker didn't seem really pleased. I didn't have any problem with the owner.

Mr. Gomez showed up and hour late to our scheduled appointment. I wanted to remove paint from an interior brick, and re-point as needed. Mr. Gomez informed that this could not be done in 4 hours and came back with a 1600 estimate two days later. He did offer to have the coupon cover painting or drywalling in the future. I called him about painting a room in my house (which should fall under the 4 hours of labor specified in the coupon) a month later. It took him three weeks to return my call. He stated that I needed to buy a separate coupon for painting. I would like to have my 99 dollars re-imbursed.
Description of Work: Showed up one hour late to our scheduled appt. Told me that removing paint from a brick wall could not be done in 4 hours. Came back with an estimate for $1600. Stated that the coupon could be substitute for painting or drywall. Called Mr. Gomez to have some paiting done and he went back on his offer. Stated that I needed to buy a different coupon for painting.

It went real well. I am really pleased with it. They extended it and did a decorative touch on it. They did more than I was thinking that they were going to do. It was okay with me, they did not charge me for it, and they just wanted to do a comprehensive job. They checked the stoop and the porch to make sure those joints were in synch with what they were doing. I was really happy with that. I do not see how it could have been done better. It was something that really needed to be done. They took care of it right away. They got right on it and got it done. They cleaned up after themselves and I have no complaints at all. I would use them again.

We're kind of happy with the product from G.O. Contractors Group, LTD. But the whole thing is that the person came out right away and he gave us an evaluation that came out a lot more than they make you believe when you buy the Big Deal. But besides that, when the workers came, they had no supervision. They had no clue what they were doing. You had to be completely on top of them. The end product was fine, but we had to keep on telling them what to do. If we wouldn't have been there, they would have done a really, really poor job. You always have to be on top of that. That's my main, main thing. That shouldn't happen. They should know what to do what they come out.

The vendor performed the work. However, the mortar for the repair did not match the color of the original mortar. The result is that the chimney looks like a "repair job". I have waited a year to post this review, thinking that the new mortar may "weather" to blend with the original mortar - not so.

Technically, the work, including cleanup, was excellent. However, I've been troubled by this job, which is why I've waited almost two years to file a report. The problem is that many of the replaced bricks had only hairline cracks, and it is not clear to me that they needed to be replaced. That is not the contractor's problem. It is my problem for agreeing to have all the bricks replaced, when only about half clearly needed to be. In retrospect, I should have had this contractor do the obvious necessary work, and then obtained at least two other opinions and bids for the remaining bricks. Talking to multiple vendors or contractors is a great way to get educated. We clearly saved $2 thousand by doing so when we upgraded our home air conditioning in January 2012. I likely could have saved money, and at least gained piece of mind, if I had done so this case. Indeed, I have since learned that there is a professional engineer in this area that specializes in masonry; it would have been wise to pay this engineer for an opinion as to whether or not the bricks with hairline cracks needed to be replaced. "The contractor told us the replaced brick would look "good as new". Well, they do, but that's not good! All new mortar effloresces, so it is obvious where we have had bricks replaced. The ideal is to have bricks appear "good as old". That can be accomplished by washing the new mortar after a few months. I wish the contractor had offered for a fixed price to do that."
Description of Work: Replaced more than100 cracked bricks and performed other masonry-related work.

I want to say thank you for the job, but two years later he wrote the report to said the job is not look like new, of course, i never said the job will be 100% the same, we try the best we can the mortar color and if we need to replace bricks (match bricks). Always i walk with the costumer and i going behind with the them and listen what they want and i was very clear winch one need to replace and others is not necessary for save money for them. Not only hairline cracks, we did replace the rotten bricks, (bad bricks ONLY). costumer did show me.
