Nestor is very nice and the same can be said of his crew of 2 people. The price was better than most but the quality was not that good. The guys spent more time re-doing work due to sloppy prep work. The project took longer than expected because of all the re-work. They did the work without complaining or arguing but I felt that if they have been painting for a long time then this should not have happened in the first place. I constantly found issues with paint work but I felt that they should do a better job of inspecting the work themselves. Nestor and team was responsive to my concerns...but I do not think I will use them again because I felt that I was the project lead for the work instead of Nestor.

Basically, the service provider sought to up sell, rather than do work within the Big Deal paid value, which rendered the proposition less attractive.

After reaching out to him once to discuss the deal, he returned my call but was placed on hold to give me time to get to the phone only to find the call disconnected before I could answer. I reached out a second time, which he finally answered and came to give me an estimate. After his initial visit, he informed me of additional work that could be done, which would incur more than the cost of the big deal. I was open to this, but never received the estimate he offered to email me, so I could review it to consider the value of the additional work. I got a hold of him a third time and he informed me that he was driving and would call me back, which never happened. The fourth time I reached out to him, left a message requesting that we just do the work described in the deal purchased, in light of the time that was running out due to oncoming seasonal requirements. I've been discouraged to pursue the deal with this service provider, due to his tendency for unresponsiveness.
Description of Work: He was supposed to honor the deal purchased for $99 as well as provide me with additional work had I agreed to the estimate he was supposed to give me.

We received a very timely and punctual visit from Nestor from G. O. Contracting and he provided a detailed assessment and proposal on the spot. We accepted and within 2-3 days the work began. And just as he had committed, the work was done very well and very efficiently. He also looked at our 17 yo pressure treated wood deck and submitted a proposal for re-surfacing the structurally sound deck-we will be using him/G. O. Contracting as well for this project. I strongly recommend G. O. Contracting without reservation and will be looking for them to do additional projects in and around our home.
Description of Work: G. O. Contracting re-did our brick entrance, flagstone walkway, and lower level flagstone patio at our 17 yo home. They then powerwashed the concrete walkway and all the re-done brick/flagstone.

The owner was very professional and responsive, and he seemed to give sound advice about what should be done, without trying to oversell anything. The work crew was on time and friendly, worked hard the whole time they were there, and cleaned up well when they left. The holes and cracks were fixed as requested and the results were adequate for us, although the appearance was somewhat inconsistent, with some of the mortar very neat and matching the existing color extremely well, and some less so.

Taking out the old concrete left a tremendous amount of dest all over the bricks. The contractor made. O attempt to clean this dust. I found it near impossible to get the bricks back to their red color. Had to power wash the bricks and even that was difficult. Furthermore, the new concrete did not hold up and after just one winter was chipping and breaking away.

Poorly. For anyone who is not interested in all the details, the main problems were: 1. Arrived late for the estimate. 2. Gave a grossly inaccurate estimate. 3. Did not show up on the scheduled day at all, or contact me to explain why they did not come. 4. Rescheduled for another day, then had to reschedule again for the next day, then showed up 4 hours late when they finally did come. 5. No English-speaking supervisor was available in person or by phone, so when the workers needed 2 extra hours to finish the job, it was very difficult to communicate this. The details: The owner was supposed to show up between 1 and 2pm to give an estimate, and had not shown up or contacted me by 2pm. I called to ask if he was still coming and he said he was running late. He arrived after 4. He estimated that with the Angie's List deal ($99 for 4 hours of masonry repair), he could repair a brick wall of an exterior stairwell, as well as fix a few broken areas on my stone front walk. This estimate was WAY off- not only did they not have time to do anything but the stairwell wall, but they also required 2 extra hours to do the stairwell alone. I think that the overall price for the stairwell repair was fair ($259: $99 for Angie's List deal, $40 for materials, $120 for the extra 2 hours), but the fact remains that I was charged 2 and a half times more than the initial estimate, for less work than he had said they would do. However, my main dissatisfaction with this company was their unreliability in showing up as scheduled. The repair was scheduled for a Thursday afternoon between 3 and 4pm. No one from the company showed up or contacted me during that time. It was a week before I had the chance to contact them again; in the intervening time, no one contacted me in any way to explain why no one had come to do the work, or to confirm that they were still planning to come at a later date. When I e-mailed the owner, he re-scheduled for another time but did not apologize at all. When I called on the day of the scheduled service to confirm that they were planning on coming, they stated that they were running behind and would have to reschedule for the next day. Again, no one proactively reached out to let me know they weren't coming. They finally DID come on the next day, but they arrived 4 hours later than they said they would. And as mentioned above, they were not able to complete as much as had been planned, even with us paying for 2 extra hours. Also, the workers who came to the house spoke only Spanish, which would not have been a problem except that there was no supervisor available in person or by phone to communicate with.

The salesman/head guy who came out to the house to give an estimate was great. He looked at our 3 small jobs, explained how it should be done, made good suggestions, explained how right we were to realize the work needed to be done, and gave us what we thought was a good price. He was going to do more than we asked for, for example, patching both sides of the brick wall of the garage instead of just one side. Then - we heard nothing for 3 weeks. I finally called and a workman came out in a couple of days. He had no idea what needed to be done and said that he had not been briefed on the job. I explained, but he didn't understand much English. He nodded a lot, however, and started to work. He patched only one side of the wall. He repaired the steps, but used a grout/cement that was lighter than the rest of the steps and does not look right. It has not mellowed over time and is still too bright. He fixed the flagstones on the walkway, but 4 months later - they are loose and coming up again. Overall, the work done did not live up to the estimate and sales job of the first guy who came out.

First let me say, this was an awful experience and the G.O. Contractions Group should be removed from Angie?s list immediately. I purchased a Big Deal service (Concrete Patio, Walkway, or Driveway, Including Demolition) on August 6, 2013 to have my walkway redone by the G.O. Contractions Group. The initial estimated start/finish time frame was set for August 26 through 30 2013 and Nestor Orlando Gomez (owner) said that he would contact me the week of August 19, 2013 to confirm. I waited approximately two days past the estimated time frame before attempting to contact Gomez with very little success. However, when I finally spoke with Gomez he asked me to send him a text message to remind him of the work I paid his company to perform so that he could make sure that he put me on his task schedule. I contacted the owner Nestor Orlando Gomez once more during the week of August 16, 2013 and when I spoke with him he stated that his team would be at my home to start and complete the paid work on September 24, 2013. In all cases, the G.O. Contractions Group did not perform the work that they were paid to do and now I must find another company to address this work. The G.O. Contractions Group lack good business practices and professionalism. I mean at the least, Gomez should have offered to refund the monies that I paid to his company if he was unable to honor his commitment to the contract.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out terrible. He never came to do the service and we want to get our money back. Mr. Gomez, the owner, was good about getting back to us after we purchased the coupon. He seemed like a very knowledgeable person. We had high hopes and then he didn't get back in touch with us. About 3 weeks later I emailed him to ask where the estimate was. He emailed me back that he had already emailed me back the estimate 2 weeks prior. I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I gave me my email again because I thought he might have the wrong email and we haven't heard anything back. We believe he extremely oversold the deal and we don't want to have that kind of money hanging out there because it has been a month. He seemed like a smart and nice guy but we are not willing to wait for him to get un-busy. He took copious notes and we were very impressed with him so we didn't understand what happened. The pricing was good. He was very responsive initially and he came out within a week but since then there has been nothing. He arrived on time for the appointment.
Description of Work: We bought a deal for around 20 hours worth of work from G.O. Contractors Group. He came out and gave us an estimate because we had more than $895 worth of work that we needed to have done. We had landscaping work that we needed done immediately; it was a retaining wall that had lost its stone so it needed to be rebuilt.

The workers worked very hard and did a good job overall. I was pleased with their performance. What was not as good was the coordination with the office. I was given a time they were coming which was early on a Friday. I stayed home to make sure the instructions were clear. They did not arrive on time and I was told that they had to finish other work from the day before. I was promised an arrival time later in the morning and that, too, did not get met. From an original 9AM start, they did not actually arrive until 2PM or so which necessitated the work carrying over and they were not able to move another job so that they didn't finish up until the following week. In addition, since it was my obligation to pay for the trash hauled, I asked to get a receipt from the transfer station. I still have not received it even though I paid. I was very frustrated by that lack of professionalism.

It hasn't gone anywhere yet. Still waiting to get the pre-paid work completed.
Description of Work: Through a special, I paid $90 for four hours of labor for masonry work. An appointment was made for Monday, 09 SEP, but instead of the work being performed the manager took photos for the use of his two man crew (who would work two hours), and I agreed to pay $20 extra for materials. I had hoped that the work would be performed the same day, but was told that it might be later in the week or the next week. However, over two weeks have passed with no further contact and no work, though I sent a follow-up query (via Angie's list) on the 20th.

They did a good job replacing the bricks that had fallen. The certificate was for 4 hours of work but it took much less than that. I also hoped to have them do additional work on the chimney under the certificate but was told I'd need to have Mr. Gomez provide a separate estimate for that. I requested the estimate but never received it.

Mr Gomez, had great reviews on Angie's List. I value the reviews as the past is a great predictor of the future typically. I am not sure how and where it all went wrong. I purchased a deal via AL and I was excited to get the work done. My initial meeting with Mr Gomez went well I felt comfortable with having him come back to do the work based upon his assessment of how to fix the brick related issues that I was in need of... Well needless to say I take off from work to be home to oversee the work and I wait, wait, wait --- no call, no one is coming. I send an email. Later in the day i discover that he left a voice mail message that his workers truck broke down .... So I am assuming it broke down, you'll go get your workers and come and do the job... Wrong I was, I stay home waiting... Not quite sure, then an email was sent asking me to reschedule and I don't even recall what all happened from there. I lost the confidence in his ability to keep an appointment based on prior experience. Not sure... I so wanted this to work as I really needed the work to be done by a reliable contractor so I felt a definite sense of loss!!

I purchased a big deal from GO Contractors. Nestor arranged to meet me at my home almost immediately and promised to submit a proposal and schedule the work for completion during that week. Six weeks later...many, many, emails and phone calls to Nestor in addition to complaints to Angie's List and a missed scheduled date (with a phone call on the day Nestor was supposed to arrive)...the work was finally completed. Here's a breakdown of my purchase...$699 for 100 square feet of concrete work. At least that's how I read the big deal. When Nestor arrived, I showed him my walkway, which is less than 50 square feet. He calculated the cost of the project and reduced the amount by $699. I thought maybe I would be able to add a small portion of a cracked sidewalk to the deal, but it would have resulted in an additional charge. I was very surprised by this calculation. Thankfully, I didn't have 100 square feet of work! Not only was this a surprise, but I thought the purchase was inclusive of all the necessary steps to actually do the work to completion. Well...everyone should read the fine print or at least be very familiar with the process since that was not the case. There was an additional charge of $350 to take the old, demolished concrete to the dump. I also paid $200 additional to add color to the concrete. I specifically told Nestor I wanted a gray color, which was written in his proposal. As mentioned, it was six weeks later when his workers finally arrived. There was a bit of a language barrier; however, all went well... with the exception of the color. One of the workers had to go and purchase the color that was agreed upon on the day they arrived to work. I liked the chosen color...but...as it dried (36 hours later) it got lighter and lighter. The gray color I wanted resulted in a beige color. I don't know what went wrong. I emailed Nestor and mentioned it to him, but there was no response to remedy the color difference. By this time, I didn't want to go through any more aggravation to get him back to the house. I was happy the work was completed that I decided it would be best to end my relationship with G.O. Contractors without further frustration.

I scheduled an appointment he was late and said he had forgotten about me. I scheduled another appointment but had to reschedule and the only way you can reach Go Contractor is by email, so I used the email to cancelled and ask if the next date was a good one. Since I didn't hear from him I assume he would show up. I waited two hours and then called, but he never came, called me two hours later, but I had left. Again, I will try to have the work done before December, but the weather may not permit. The contractor doesn't work on Saturdays. I should have asked before I booked the appointment. In your book it says 4 hours cement work. Go Contractor wanted to bring two men for two hours and told me if they went over I would have to pay extra, but that is not what my contract says. It states 4 hours of work $99.00. Not what I thought at all, but will try to reschedule again so that I will not loose my money. Mozella Boyd Johnson

Contractor came out to look at house, gave an estimate of material costs and said he'd schedule a time to come out and complete the project. 5 days later I decided to contact him since I hadn't heard anything yet. We were ultimately able to set up a time for his people to come out, between 8 and 9AM. At 10AM, I called to find out where they were. They arrived around 10:30 and began working on the problem areas, a crack running down from the front window and some disintegrating bricks under the kitchen window. Because they were late, I had to leave before the project was completed, but my roommate was home. He told them that the doors were open and they could use the sink as needed, but they kept knocking on the doors and having him fill buckets of water for them. Likewise, they did a decent job on the bricks they did fix, however, they ignored or missed other bricks in the same area (within 2') that also needed to be repaired. The bricks they did fix look good, albeit slightly sloppy (the mortar), but a good coat of paint will fix that.

The painting was fabulous. They did a really nice job. They were here an extra 45 minutes and so they charged me an extra $120. That did not work out well. I was not happy with that but they were here and what could I do? So, I gave them $120. They could not manage to get the service done in the number of hours that was needed. They were supposed to be done at 5:00 and they were done at 5:45. The gentlemen that were painting called Mr. Nestor of the company and he told me that that would be an extra $120. So, what could I say? I do not think that it was super expensive but it was just over what I expected and the job was done very nicely. I called him after I purchased the big deal and he came out right away to give me an estimate but we had to postpone the work because I had surgery. They were very clean and everything about them was great. They were punctual. The estimate that they gave me for the rest of the house was I guess inline with other companies but it was quite high. I was happy with everything except for the last minute when I had to give them an extra check. I am not certain if I would use them again in the future but I might.
Description of Work: I used the big deal that I purchased from G.O. Contractors Group, LTD on August 15th for painting a bedroom.
