Totally satisfied with Ed's Tree Service. The experience was unstressed from start to finish.

We got estimates from a couple of people. They had the lowest quote and they were the cheapest. They don't pick up their phones. They were very professional. They wrote down the quote on a piece of paper with their phone number. They explained what they were doing. They were pretty straightforward.

Reasonable and efficient, out the next day. Wonderful lady, couldn't rate them any higher.

Out of 3 estimates, Ed's was by far the most affordable. They were extremely professional, informative, prompt, and careful. Would highly recommend!

I had removed the branches from two large holly trees in front of our house, leaving the trunks. I called Ed's Tree Service and asked them to cut off the trunks and grind down the stumps. Their employee showed up as scheduled and did the work efficiently. He used a stump grinding machine to grind the stumps down to about 6 inches below the ground. The machine made a lot of mess sending dirt and pieces of wood flying but the man cleaned it up and smoothed the dirt. It took him less than an hour to do the job.

I contacted Ed's to take down an oak tree that had had its crown destroyed by lightning and wind over the past few years. They provided a very reasonable estimate and I hired them to do the work. The crew arrived as scheduled and got to work on the job. It took a few hours, but they worked steadily and efficiently. The foreman Tony was very friendly, and the crew of, I believe, four, all seemed to know what they were doing. As agreed, they hauled away the limbs but left the trunk, cut into 18-inch segments, which I can split and cure for firewood. My only small complaint is that I'd have liked them to have moved the largest trunk segments a bit farther away from my main path through that part of my yard, but I will take care of that soon enough. I do have some more tree work I need to do, and I will definitely hire Ed's to do it.

The experience was very pleasant from start to finish. They provided an estimate as I requested and left it for me at my mom's without disturbing her as she is elderly. They came on time and were very courteous and professional. The tree was in a tight spot but they did a great job cutting along the property line and not intruding on any of the neighbor's yard. They were pretty fast and cleaned up. I would definitely call this company again. The customer service is good, as well.

I wanted the maple removed, but because it sits on a property line and the neighbor prefers shade over safety, I was only able to have the tree pruned. However, they gave me reasonable quotes for removing the tree should I secure agreement with the neighbor (which I didn't), or trimming the tree back on our side (which they did). The main event, however, was the removal of a large, overgrown holly. They arrived promptly and began work immediately. They were friendly but professional through and through. The holly tree was down within the hour, the stump ground and the area leveled. The maple was quickly and effectively pruned away from all power and communication lines without incident. When they pruned the shade trees in the back, they asked me how I wanted them pruned, and then did exactly what I wanted, and then suggested improvements, which were indeed improvements. I couldn't have asked for a more professional or proficient crew.

They are pleasant and quick. They also have good pricing.

I made all the arrangements by telephone. Someone came out while I was at work and left me an estimate. , I called the company back about a month later when I was ready to have the tree removed. I left a check for them inside my storm door. When I came home from work they had completed the job to my satisfaction.

Very easy to work with, completed estimate, scheduled service and completed service as scheduled.

Dealing with this company was a pleasure. I sent a request for an estimate via email and the next business day Kathy called and set up an appointment for someone to come out and give us an estimate. The owner Alice showed up to give us the estimate. Work was scheduled for the following week. The crew showed up at the time stated, made sure of what I wanted and started work. Four hours later all four trees were down and cup up into firewood lengths. They cleaned the sawdust off the deck and sidewalks. Also raked the debri from the branches off the lawn. I am very pleased with their work.

I would suggest others to go for the company. The quote that they gave was about $1600 less than the other three companies that we checked for the tree. They did take some time to come. That’s the way their system works. They call you few days before they come out and then put you on schedule. Then they call two days before they come out. It was troublesome but they worked fine. I would use them in the future.

Company seemed very nice and helpful and responsive. I had requested an estimate from two companies--Ed's Tree Service and Kuhn's Tree Service. Both estimates were very competitive and came within $10-15 of each other. Both offered a 10% off Angie's List coupon. It just so happened that Kuhn's Tree Service called me back half-a-day earlier than Ed's Tree Service, so I went with them. This seems like a quality company though!

They do excellent work and I would highly recommend them. I have used them multiple times and they are very professional company. Their prices are very good.

As hoped for--timely, professional, great outcome

I called and spoke to Kathy to set up a date to have an estimate appointment. The estimator dropped by while I was away at work. I like the price for the removal of an 8 foot tree stump and the grinding of the roots. After I scheduled the work, the workers showed up. They were early by about an hour and a half and were very professional. They finished the work in 2 hours and cleaned up. I was only annoyed by the fact that they did not inform me that they were done so that I could close the gates of my property. I thought they were just backing up their trucks to pick up the ground up roots. I called Kathy immediately and realized since it was Friday and after 12 noon no one was available at the office. However, I called their emergency number and Kathy called right back in less than 20 minutes. Kathy explained that the ground up roots would become mulch. Again, I was annoyed but it turned out great since I did some exercise by putting all the created mulch into my flower beds and trees. I would definitely hire the team again but be more specific as to what are my expectations at the end of the job. Please let me know when the jopb is complete to inspect the work and close the gates. I also forgot to mention that the workers were very considerate when I asked them to leave some trunk pieces behind for decorative purposes. They actually selected a better cut of the trunk so my decorative piece was whole and complete.Again, I would hire them again due to their responsiveness, punctuality and quality of work as well as a reasonable price. NO one in town seemed interested in cutting down a stump and roots.

From my initial contact with Kathy to when I arrived home from work to find they completed the job was a very good experience. I first spoke with Kathy a week prior regarding having someone come and give an estimate on cutting down a big old tree in the backyard and trimming the branches from another tree in the front that was blocking my satellite dish. She was very easy to talk to, courteous and very responsive. Within a day someone came out while I was at work and left the estimate in an envelope on my front door. The estimate provided good detail of what the job entailed and plus the cost was reasonable. The day after the estimate was left, Kathy called to make sure that I had received it and she was able to get a crew to out to do the work within a week of my first call to her. The crew did a great job, just what they said in the estimate: cut down the tree and backfill the hole with tree mulch, trim branches from tree in front, remove tree and all branches. The only evidence they came was the mound of tree mulch in the back. If ever I have need of their service again, I will not hesitate to call them. Great job!

We've used Ed's Tree Service before so we expected a straight forward service this time. We called, got their Manager of Operations, Tony Martone, out in a few days and got a prompt estimate, which we accepted. A few days later they scheduled the work. On the day scheduled the crew arrived late in the afternoon and asked if it would be ok to start the next day and we said that would be ok. The next day they called to say they would start in the afternoon. They didn't have time, once they arrived, to finish the job that day - it started to rain. So the work was not completed until the next non-rainy day. Which is why I'm not giving them an A for punctuality. The office apparently stops answering the phone at Noon on Fridays. I had no way to know that so I am giving them a low mark for responsiveness. I left multiple voice-mail messages - about a small change in the work - on a Friday and followed up with an e-mail and still did not hear back until sometime on Sunday. Let me emphasis that their work is excellent, that the crew is obviously well trained and experienced, they do their work well and without damage to anything else, and they do a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Tony Martone was very apologetic about the delay and the lack of a response and I'd be happy to hire him and his crew for any additional work. As an apology for the delay they did grind out a couple of extra stumps - that were not in the original estimate - for no additional charge. So I do recommend them highly - but warn you not to try to contact the office after Noon on Friday.

The experience was fine. They were in and out in a day. They got everything done what they said they would do. They were a lot more expensive than the other company I hired few years ago. They were responsive.

Alice, pleasant and professional, came to do a free estimate a week earlier and worked with me on a fair price. Ed came the scheduled day of service and worked diligently with another man in the heat and stickiness of the day for a serveral hours until he was satisfied with the job. Ed is a tree artist...and a lot of fun with whom to work!

Ed's Tree Service provided us an estimate that matched the two other prices we received, so we chose Ed's because my husband felt more comfortable with them. They came out as scheduled and took down the trees in our back yard (four locust and a cherry) and trimmed a few other worrisome trees (we have about 80 trees in our yard). They did an excellent job and were very professional. They cut the wood into manageable sizes, so we can use it for firewood. They also chipped all the excess and left the chips for us to use for mulch (they can take it with them too. We did not have the stumps removed as we wanted to keep them to help with erosion on the hill they were removed from. After discussing some other home improvement plans, specifically our driveway, Tyrone suggested we remove two other trees (Cherry and Maple) that are close to our drive and house. The roots are growing into our current driveway and in the way of where we want to add a parking pad. We were going to just have the roots torn up, but after talking with Tyrone we decided the trees may not stable without all the roots and decided to have them cut down also. They came out a few days later to remove the trees. Both days the crews worked in a "heat wave" but didn't let that slow them down. They did an excellent job and we will hire them for any future tree removals. Great job!

Everything went great. 4 personnel came and knocked the job out in 2 1/2 hours including the clean up. They explained everything that they were going to do and than did it. Would I use them again, definitely. Would I recommend them,definitely.

On the recommendation of a neighbor, I called Ed's and had them come do an estimate for tree work in our backyard. One of our trees (a cherry) was half dead and in danger of falling; a second (maple) was rotting on the inside; a third (maple) had some major branches that appeared to be rotting and in danger of falling on our house. The estimate I received was reasonable for the work; perhaps higher than some estimates, but hardly the highest. They were delayed a week due to bad weather and other winter storm clean-up jobs, which was understandable, though we had two major wind storms in the meantime and were lucky our trees held up. Ed's did, however, come on the rescheduled day, and did the entire job in just one day -- stump grinding included -- which was much faster than I expected. They also fixed some trimming I had done of a dogwood at no extra charge. They did have to tear up some of our yard to bring in equipment, which was an annoyance, though they did hardly as much damage as past tree companies have done. Overall we were very happy with their service.
