From start to finish, working with Ed's Tree Service was very positive. They responsed quickly to my request for a quote, even calling me from home on a Sunday. They also survyed our yard to see what other things they could help us with, which is how we had other stumps removed. They continued to follow up with me, as I was not great with returning phone calls, but it was not in a pestering way. I appreciate the time they took in working with us. Day of Service was great-they were able to schedule around our needs. Even though we didn;t need to be home, my husband wanted to. He said they worked quickly and efficiently. Very knowledgable about thier work, and they cleaned up after themseleves. We would work with them again!

After two Angie's Big Deal coupons with two other tree service firms that went south, I hired this firm to trim two trees on my property in Laurel, MD. Over the phone, I told them what I wanted done, in broad strokes, and they agreed to come by, assess the job and leave a formal proposal in the mailbox. This all happened with a day or two of first contact. Having read all the positive reviews for this firm on Angie's List, I was favorably disposed to hiring them -- until I read the proposal. They wanted $450.00 for a job that I thought should have clocked in at no more than $200. I thought surely I can do better than that, so I did not respond. They did however, leaving a phone message after a few days saying they would reduce their price by $50 if I signed the contract within the week. Still too high I thought. I did not respond. Again after a few days they left a phone message saying they'd come down another $25. I really needed to get this work done before autumn set in so I agreed on condition that I speak to a rep in person to go over the job in detail. A man showed up promptly at the agreed upon time and the work was done the next day. I was very pleased with what they had done, exactly as I had asked. They left the job site clean and free of debris. I am quite pleased with Ed's Tree Service in every respect except the price. I ended up paying $375 which I think is high, but truth be told I may be suffering from sticker shock, having never had occasion to use the services of these firms in the past. A word of advice though. If you think the quote they provide you is high -- or even if it isn't -- negotiate. The worst they can say is take it or leave it. If you take it, based on my experience and almost every other Angies client, you'll likely get quality service. If you don't like their price, there are plenty of other tree service firms on Angies you can choose. from.

Alice was very thorough and provided a detailed estimated of what exactly would be trimmed, where, how much and the cost. I haven't had the service performed yet due to unforseen budget issues, but I would definitely call them back to do the job.

Excellent service on several occasions. Each time, personnel took the time to conduct a thorough onsite visit regarding scope of work to be performed. On days of service, workers arrived promptly and rendered services exactly as promised. Concerning pricing, Ed's Tree Service is extremely competitive. Would recommend their services to others.

We went with Ed's Tree Service because they gave the lowest bid of the three top rated tree services. They were the slowest to respond with a bid and then took a while to schedule the appointment. Also the initial bid proposed using a crane which they then decided they would not able to use. So prior to the work actually being done we had our doubts, however in the end we were very satisfied with the work done. They arrived promptly, took down the tree (which indeed was quite rotten), and cleaned up everything in one day. There was a bit of (understandable) confusion about what additional wood was to be hauled away, but the crew promptly picked up the additional wood when asked. Everything was left quite clean and no damage done despite very tight working conditions. Bottom line: excellent work.

They showed up at the agreed upon time with a full crew of energetic and obviously experienced, competent workers. They had the right equipment to do the job and got it done more quickly than I had expected. They were courteous, competent and professional. They did a great job with which I am well satisfied.

The written estimate was a little too high for the service. When contacted I informed the caller that I was seeking other estimates because I expected a more service for my money. They did not indicate that they would remove the stump for the current price of $895.00.

Ed's Tree Service was in our front yard just hours after a storm came through and damaged a large tree in our front yard. They graciously gave us an estimate even though it was a neighbor who had called them for their damaged tree. The crew was out promptly the next day. Super professional, did a nice job, and cleaned up the work area. One week later they came and ground the stump - no follow up needed on my end, but they called to make sure I was happy with the work. I could not be more pleased with this company. This is the fifth tree company I have used in my years as a homeowner (in various parts of the country), and this was my best experience. I marked their pricing as fair as I did have a chance to compare their prices against another older estimate, and it was fair. I don't think anyone ever feels they pay a "good" price with tree work, since it's just expensive work. I will have Ed's Tree Service back for more trimming and strongly recommend the company.

The crew did such a good job cleaning up, that when my husband came home from work he asked if the tree people came because he did not see ANY debis left to indicate that they were ever there. The crew that cut down the trees and limbs were very careful in protecting the ornamental landscaping. None of the hundreds of plants surrounding the tree area were hit or damaged by falling branches or tree limbs.

We had a mild tornado come through our area and knocked down a tree which also fell over toward our neighbor's home and was in the way of their door. I had seen tree service listing in my Angie's List magazine and called Ed's Tree Service. He also offered 10% service in the book. He came right out that evening cut everything up, mulched, and had everything taken care of in no time. He even climbed up to cut a limb that my neighbor said was part of the problem just so she would be happy. He was great and I would use him again.

I ended up giving them a 2nd job. They were very accommodating. and I felt their pricing was fair .

It went very well. They cleaned up after themselves and even shredded some old branches that we had hauled out to the curb.

The large oak tree at the rear of our yard was badly damaged by hurricane Sandy. Huge tree limbs crashed into the yard and into our neighbors yard. We chose Ed's Tree Service partly because of their customer reviews and the price estimate for work to be performed. The service showed up on time with a crew of 5 men and the appropriate trucks and tools. They did the work specified in our contract and a little more. The limbs were cut up and removed and the yard cleaned of all wood and debris from the storm. They gave me estimates for the removal and also some work to repair damage to the tree which I was not able to afford. I liked the professionalism and quality of the work performed and the knowledgeable and courteous staff. I would give them an A rating, and when I can afford it will definitely use them again.

Great. They were 15 minutes late - no big deal. Very kind, professional, they cleaned up the branches on my neighbors driveway and left it cleaner than when they found it. The estimate was also very helpful, they suggested work but were not pushy in any way. They did exactly what they said they would do. Again, I was very happy with them from beginning to end, and would recommend them and use them myself for future work.

Overall, they began the job with enthusiasm and continued until it was finished. This is a very experienced company with a great crew.

Owner came to house to give an estimate. She was friendly and professional. The work was done when promised and done well. Clean-up was exceptional (practically nothing left behind). Tree looks great.

I think they were the first one who actually came out and did the estimate. Without the coupon, they were more expensive but with their 10% discount, they would have been cheaper than the one I chose to do the job. When I talked to confirm the contract, they just took too long to get back to me. I would consider them in the future. They were responsive as far as giving the quote. They lost the job because they weren't responsive as far as returning my calls when I was ready to make a decision.

Ed's Tree Service answered the phone and came for an estimate the next day. The estimate was approximately 30% below another I had received. Additional work was negotiated and priced. My questions about insurance, etc., were answered. I was told the work would be done the following week. They called to confirm the work date and time. The crew arrived when expected and performed the work exactly as contracted, quickly and safely. Thorough clean-up and removal of debris. Crew members were experienced and friendly; they seemed to work together effectively. This is an impressive outfit. I was completely satisfied and would give Ed's Tree Service my highest recommendation.
