BELTSVILLE REFUSE SVC

I've had this company for the four years I've lived in Silver Spring and I'm going to find another company. Their price is great but the service leaves much to be desired. They bill quarterly and only by sending you a postcard in the mail. You have to pay by check. There's no internet service so you can't even check and see if there's anything wrong with your account. Three times now they have refused to pick up my trash because my dog happened to be on her lead outside (the yard is not fenced). My dog is rather large but she's never bitten them or anything but they just won't pick up the trash if she's out. If they don't pick up, you're stuck and they are not really receptive to coming back out but will do so reluctantly. I've finally just had it.

I live on a cu-de-sac. The company decided to have someone pull trash from the garbage cans and put our trash bags at the end of the street without telling us. I woke up to find someone going through the trash. The man was not wearing a Beltsville Refuse shirt or anything identifying him with the company. The company truck was no where to be found. I asked him who he was and he was very rude and disrespectful. He finally indicated that he was was Beltsville Trash and then he proceeded to ask me WHY would anyone go through the trash. How rude and stupid of him! I guess he has never heard of Identity Theft. He threaten to leave my trash in the can the next time even though I have PAID them for service. The trash was left at the end of the street for approximately15-20 mins until the truck actually stopped by. Why am I along with my neighbors spending money to purchase a good garbage can only for these clowns to take the trash out of the can and pile it on a street corner for 20 mins to wait for the truck!! If animals including the vicious birds pick at the trash prior to their pick up then who will pick up the stray cans, paper that is left on the street? They are supposed to pick up trash not create trash! I am for efficiency but I am not for changes with out our approval when it could jeopardize our information and neighborhood.

Their price is good. I found cheaper priced, however, I couldn't even get them to pick up the phone. They are one of the cheaper places to go for basic trash removal. For basic service, they are good and reliable. They don't provide dumpsters and extra things come with a surcharge. The only knock I would give them is that you can only pay by mailing in a check, instead of paying by credit card or another option.

Never had a missed pick up. Generally come at the same time of day. Never had to worry about cans or debris scattered about.
