Honest, helpful, and professional. They seemed to be rather busy as the first available appointment they had in my neighborhood was a week after my initial phone call to them. If it's an emergency appliance, like a refrigerator, perhaps you might get seen sooner than a dishwasher repair. I thought the $75 bill was fine for what included 25 minutes at our house and the restocking fee for the part.

Owner diagnosed washing machine problem and replaced a part that was suggested could be problem. Problem persisted and further diagnostics revealed no error messages. Symied, called ALCO on a Monday, the tech was out on Tuesday and returned again on Thursday and replaced the control board, which solved the beeping. Response time was very prompt as was the return - called Thursday morning and tech was back Thursday afternoon. Very professional, courteous, answered owner's questions easily and very neat. All that we could ask for.

Alco rocks! If something else breaks, I'm calling them.

We have used Alco for a number of years. They are always extremely pleasant to deal with, and have always been able to repair our non-working appliances quickly and efficiently.

I have used them for 25 years and they are wonderful. I would rate them high overall. They explained what they had learnt now and what I had not learnt. They told me what was necessary to keep the washer healthy. They told me that I had to use a certain detergent with hot water. They rebuilt it for a very low cost. I paid $60 for the air conditioner and $75 for the washer. They deserve high ratings.

I had used Alco twice before when I had problems with my gas dryer, and I was happy with them. Good price, good repairs. Last time I used them was a couple of years ago. So, when I had problems with my dryer and my washing machine this past week, I looked them up again. Left a message during business hours on Monday morning (today is Thursday), letting them know I was a past customer. No response. On Wednesday morning, e-mailed them through Angie's list asking for a call back. No response. On Wednesday afternoon, left another message. Still no response. This morning, Thursday, called another provider on Angie's list and they got out here same day. Alco has done good work for me in the past, but this experience gives me doubts about their current/future reliability, and I'm irritated about the lack of response.

I was able to get an appointment for the day and time I wanted ( a Friday afternoon). The technician came on time and was very professional, as usual. This continues to be my go-to appliances repair!

Service was prompt and problem was solved with lowest cost, lowest tech option. Company rep was polite, friendly and professional. Glad I used them.

Everything went perfectly from the start. I was the one who got in the way and they were perfectly nice about it all. Thank goodness appliance repair is one thing I won't have to worry about again since I re found this great company

Our dishwasher was leaking when we ran it because it shook when it ran and caused the piping to come loose. The ALCO repairman was able to fix this by fastening the dishwasher to the countertop. While we had him at the apartment, he also fixed the ice maker in our freezer! He was friendly and professional. I definitely recommend ALCO and will use them next time I have an appliance problem.

John was prompt and is very professional. He seems to be able to fix anything and his rates are fantastic.

It went very well. I was sure it could not be repaired and was ready to purchase a new one. They did a fantastic job of repairing it for a reasonable price. Would definitely use this companies services again. I have had bad luck with 2 other repair companies in the past for washer/dryers and was very pleased with the job that ALCO did.

Because this was not an emergency, we got an appointment for 4 days after we called. ALCO showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He finished the work within a half hour so we owed the minimum amount. The serviceman was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I would definitely use this company again.

We have used ALCO several times in the past and always had great experiences. As usual, this time they came out on time and handled several small but annoying problems with my appliances. The water line made of plastic tubing that connects to the ice maker in our GE refrigerator burst in the middle of the night several weeks ago. At the time, I wasn't sure why water was flowing out of the back of the fridge, but John from ALCO found the problem quickly and used some of the existing excess tubing to replace the broken water line. He recommended copper or perhaps a more heavy-duty plastic line as something to consider in the future to prevent a recurrence of the problem. He also stayed to make sure that the ice-maker was working properly, which was good, because it turned out he hadn't opened the valve at the water supply enough to get the ice maker working initially. The oven door handle came loose several months ago as well on our stainless steel GE profile dual-fuel range. Luckily I found the screw that came loose and fell on the floor and kept it. John took the oven door apart, returned the screw to its proper place and made sure the rest of the screws were tightened so they wouldn't fall out and put it all back together. He also gave me a few tips about cleaning the oven properly (when he saw that there was oven cleaner on the fan blades of the convection oven blower--not good since oven cleaner isn't necessary on this self-cleaning oven). Finally, our microwave oven had been incorrectly installed by another company several years ago when it was first purchased. I called that company when I discovered the problem several months ago. The microwave is mounted under a cabinet above the oven. and it is supposed to recirculate when you turn on the vent hood. When it was installed it was set up as if there was venting through ductwork to the outside of the house, but there is no duct work so it was just blowing hot greasey air into the space between the top of the microwave and the bottom of the cabinetry above. When I called the company that installed it, they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about or how it could possibly be fixed. After I downloaded the installation instructions from the GE website and called them back to tell them exactly how to fix it, they still played dumb so I just gave up on them and called ALCO. John fixed the problem in about 5 minutes. In short, he fixed 3 appliances with no parts. I just paid for his time (gladly).

I called on Monday, Feb 21 and was given an appointment on Wednesday afternoon, Feb 23. I called on Wednesday morning and was given a two-hour time window. The technician arrived in the first half hour. He was courteous, professional, and quick, correcting the problem in 15 minutes. He also took the time to respond to questions we had about water temperature. No more leak! And the price was right.

My dishwater broke down and I needed to replace it. I reviewed a number of models on the Internet and decided to purchase a GE model. I contacted several local providers and obtained price, delivery and installation cost and timeframes. Then I contacted Alco Appliances (Sarah). I explained the situation and Sarah informed me that they could provide the service. Sarah told me that she would call me back with a quote. I called back about 4 hours later. Sarah apologize for not calling me back earlier. She provided the quote for purchase, delivery and installation. I felt it was a very competitive quote. Since I had done business with them previously and had been very satisfied, I verbally agreed to proceed. We schedule the installation for 3 days after our conversation. On the agreed upon day, I called at 10:00 am to confirm the appointment; Sarah indicated that the installation would occur betwen 3 and 5. The dishwater was installed successfully by about 5:15pm. I was very satisfied by the entire process and would highly recommend Alco Appliance LTD to anyone interested in servicing or purchasing large home appliances.

I called Alco Appliances, LLC at 9:10 am on December 14th. I informed the technician that my dryer was making an intermittent screeching noise and that I needed to have it serviced. He asked some basic information about the dryer, e.g., brand, model, etc. Then he said that I could have it serviced today or Thursday. I said today and he asked which I preferred, i.e., early (11::00am to 1:00pm) or late (4:00pm to 5:00pm). I said early service was preferable. He said that that was fine and for me to call back and confirm time of service at 10:00am. I called back at 10:00 am and the person on the phone confirmed that a technician would be at my house between 11:00 and 1:00pm. The technician arrived promptly at 11:45. He checked the dryer and confirmed that it needed new bearings, front and back. I agreed to the repairs and he was done by 12:30. In addition to servicing the dryer, he fixed a burner on my gas stiove that was not working properly. The technician's name was Jason and he did a super fantastic job. I highly redcommend both Alco Appliance,LLC and Jason.

Overall service was very professional and satisfactory although the price for the entire fix was approximately $425, which is practically the price of a new microwave. Alco technician diagnosed the problem, recommended replacing the components, and provided an estimate. He was not able to replace the component immediately since the parts needed to be ordered.

The company told me that it would take several weeks to order the stovetop. I called them after a few weeks, and they said, that it had just come in. They should have called me. No bill was ready with the installers, so they said the company would mail me the bill. There was a price cited for the part, but the installation price had not been fixed. I thought this was not too professional.

I had a terrible 8-week experience with Alco Appliances and I suspect there were some shady dealings as well. On June 23, 2010 John Lefever himself. came to my house and told me I had a "bad pump" in my dishwasher. He recommended a model from Sears (Kenmore White 24'' Built-In Dishwasher with Sani Rinse) for under $500 installed. I talked to the wife and called him later that day, asking him to go ahead. Weeks passed. I called again in mid July; the lady in the office told me she had no record of that and gave me his phone number; Lafever told me that he was working on the delivery and scolded Sears for not getting back to him. No problem, I said, trusting him. He told me "I'll get right back to you." Meanwhile my old dishwasher leaked from the disposal and dripped into the ceiling below. I mopped it up and said nothing, although I was tired of washing dishes. Two weeks later I called him again, no response, so I called again. The secretary still knew nothing, telling me to call his cell number. Same story, same apologies. I told him I was getting restless. "Get right back to you." Fast forward to August. I had to call. Same secretary, same bewilderment, same cell number reference, same story. "Get right back to you." Well today was the last day for me. After a week's wait I called. The total delay was almost 8 WEEKS! Same secretary, same bewilderment, same cell number reference. "That dishwaser is not available any more," I am told. But I have a great deal on another machine, just as good, although out of warranty. Trust me, It'll be OK. I guarantee it." My previous experience with this person and his company was very good, or so I belived, and I gave them a excellent rating on Angie's List for that reason. No more. I leave this company for good, and next time I will not be so trusting and patient. Do the same. Find another company. Don't trust Alco.

Scheduling was easy and the scheduler was great over the phone (they ask for the make and model of your appliance so be sure to have that before you call). They had an appointment for the next week. Repair tech was quick and effective. This is the 2nd time we've used them for an appliance repair and both times it went very well. We'd definitely use them again.

The company was very responsiveness and nice on the phone even though I was only repairing an over-the-counter microwave.

It was great. I had used another appliance repair service and they charged a lot and couldn't find the source of the black marks. Alco was very professional and thorough. The cleaning the technician performed lessened the problem considerably so I didn't ruin more clothes before he could return and install the new seal. It was promptly installed and the problem disappeared. The technicial was very nice and explained what he was doing. I have used Alco since then again with great results on my dishwasher.

Original service call was placed ~1 week ago. They only service Prince Georges county two days a week (somewhat inconvenient as I could not be home for service call on their one available day last week) So scheduled this week. Called for a two hour window on AM of service day, tech arrived on time, was very professional, service performed quickly, cleaned up after himself. A solid A for the work performed, scheduling could have been more convient and flexible.
