Description of Work: The person who answered the phone and the person who came to the house were both courteous and professional. The washing machine was repaired in a very timely manner and for a reasonable fee. I will definitely | use Alco again.

Description of Work: My washing machine was not spinning my clothes dry. The service tech quickly diagnosed a burnt out clutch and leaking oil. We discussed cost of repair, set up the return appointment. He came back out with the parts, made the repair, and the washer is as good as new! And the total cost was slightly less than I had expected, so I was very pleased.

Description of Work: ALCO Fixed my washing machine. I was truely impressed with how quickly the technician accomplished the repair.

Description of Work: Fixed my rather old Maytag drier that was no longer heating. Quick analysis and quick repair. Very professional. I asked about the washer that was unbalanced. He investigated, learned that "feet" had been removed/worn away, ordered new "feet" and I need to schedule a return. I would use them at all times. Jason was terrific and the company tried to work around my office schedule and waited for me to get there a bit. (He went to get his lunch b/c it was around lunchtime.)

Description of Work: We needed the gas line to our oven checked to see if something could be repaired or determine if we needed a new appliance. They made an appointment for the next day and were easy to work with. They fixed the appliance and gave us advice about how to clean it to avoid corrosion.

Description of Work: I am very happy with the repairman that serviced my dishwasher, he was knowlegeable, professional, punctual and a good communicator on the problem. His ability to repairnthe machine was quick and it's been running perfectly since. Thanks ALCO!

Description of Work: I am really surprised by all of the good reviews they have on Angie's List. As an owner of multiple properties, this is the worst lack of professionalism and responsiveness I've experienced in dealing with a repair company. I'm beginning to wonder if companies like this get more business than they can reasonably manage from Angie's List. Having read the good reviews on Angie's list, I tried calling Alco to fix my dishwasher but never could get anyone on the phone. I should have realized then, this was not going to be a good experience, but not to be deterred, I emailed for an appointment. The office manager emailed me back with days they would be in my neighborhood and I emailed her back that Friday would work for me. I never heard back, so I called Friday morning to confirm they were coming and she said yes, the service window was from 11am to 7pm but I was scheduled for 2-4pm and the technician would call when he was on his way. At 4:30, I hadn't heard anything so I called the office and again no one answered. I finally got Sarah (the office manager at 4:45pm) and she said she'd call the technician and see where he was and let me know. I never heard back from Sarah or the technician and he never showed up at my house. I tried calling several more times, but never got through and then the office was closed. I called Monday morning to ask why she never called me back and she said the technician was supposed to call me. I asked to speak to the owner/person in charge, and she said he would call me right back. I still have not heard from him.

Description of Work: My washing machine was filling very (very, very) slowly. The repairman (the company owner) came on time, repaired the machine quickly; charged a very reasonable price. The machine works fabulously well--and the repairman told me that it should last another 10 years--he pinpointed its age, and gave me an assessment of its quality. Great company!

Description of Work: Asked to fix our gas oven. First, repaired and did not work. They came back and re-evaluated for free and determined it was not worth fixing. We were only charged for diagnostic visit, and they were very responsive.

Description of Work: KitchenAid sink disposal system had jammed from a dropped teaspoon. I called Alco to set up a service call. The person who answered the phone told me how to reset the disposal. When an additional step was needed, he gladly walked me through it on a second phone call. He could not have been nicer, helped me fix the problem on my own, and saved me the cost of a service call. I will definitely call them for any future needs.
