Adirondack gets an A plus from me. Crew of about 4 or 5 arrived on time and worked together to remove the 2 trees and stumps, which only took about 20 minutes. I was so impressed, I took a video of some of the process. They even cleaned up the saw dust and replaced the border (bricks) around the flower bed. I even got advice on replanting, which was not to replant at this time. Thankful for this advice because I was on my way to buy some shrubbery, which I was told would have died eventually. I googled this and he was right. Great job Adirondack. Oh and the cost was great too! No complaints at all, which is shocking because since I have been working on my house, I have had the worse contractors. I guess Adirondack is the exception. Thanks Adirondack!

They showed up on time. The crew was very professional and did a fine job. They cleaned up the work site and did not damage anything. I thought their price was reasonable for the task. Very pleased and would use them again.

Adirondack's price was reasonable and they were efficient and responsive. We were not present when the work was performed, but it was done as they had described in their proposal. We were relieved to have these old branches removed and no longer a threat to our new roof, our cars, or to us! We feel we've bought the old tree a little more time by finally addressing these issues and by using a company that was knowledgeable and professional. We'd use them again.

The trees were trimmed properly, and the crew cleaned up the site.

Adirondack was scheduled to come to my house between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. They arrived 15 minutes early. They worked quickly and completed the job in about 30 minutes. They hauled away the dead limbs and cleaned up the debris in the yard.

It was very easy to schedule an appointment. I had to reschedule once as Miss Utility had not come to my house to mark where the power lines were. I had to reschedule a second time due to the weather. A crew of about four or five men came to my house. They worked quickly. They cleaned up all the debris and hauled it away.

Excellent prompt and professional service! I generally shop around and get several estimates before selecting a service company, but I enjoyed talking to the estimator and the price was within my budget so I went with them without researching further. On the day of the service, the foreman and crew arrived promptly and worked efficiently through my long list, which included removing several trees, cutting branches back, and stump grinding. Everything was done to high standards and now my yard no longer looks like a jungle. I have already recommended them to other family members, and will use them again in the future. Great job!

They cut down and ground the trunk of medium tree as well as limbs from another. I went out with them and they cut the limbs I wanted - very obliging. They were great to work with. After getting the estimate and scheduling the work, I had to delay (well before they were to come I asked to delay). A month or so after that I called to reschedule and they did. Came when they said and completed the work and clean up. Easy.

If you are looking for a professional, reliable, and reasonably priced tree removal company, than Adirondack Tree Experts is the company for you!!!! I contacted the DC Government to request the removal of a big old dead elm tree located in an alley at the end of my property line, the tree's circumference was greater than 55 inches. After requesting that the DC Government conduct their examination and removal of the tree, I was told by the DC Arborist that the tree was hazardous and was my responsibility to remove. Thus, I began my search on Angie?s List for tree removal contractors and made contact with three companies. After obtaining three estimates I selected Adirondack Tree Experts, which by the way offered a discount coupon and was the lowest price contractor. Now I selected the Adirondack Tree Experts not just because they were the lowest price contractor, but because I was very impressed with the information that their representative, Dan Miller provided. After examining the tree Dan briefly discussed the tree removal process with me and requested that I go to the DC on-line d.TOPS permit system to request the special tree removal permit. Also before leaving Dan provided me with a written proposal with the price for the tree removal. Along with his written estimate he also provided copies of the company?s license, certificate of Liability Insurance form, and a brief write up on the company?s history. Dan gave me his business card and told me to call him with any questions. Seeing how meticulous Dan was, I was hooked; Adirondack Tree Experts was the tree removal company for me. The Adirondack Tree Experts took care of the ?emergency no parking signs? with the DC Government because part of the street required their trucks to have closer access to the tree and they wanted to be sure no residential cars were blocking their access. I was given a tree removal date, which by the way had to be rescheduled two times due to the famous Snow Blizzard of 2016, but on February 8th, three Adirondack trucks rolled up to my house and began their tree removal process. In less than five hours the old elm tree was chopped down to its stump. The worker?s cleaned as they chopped and sawed and after completing the tree removal process my yard, the street, and the alley?s appearance looked like no one was ever there. If you need a tree removed, than the Adirondack Tree Experts is the way to go!!!

Work was originally scheduled for Monday was move to Friday due to the weather. Work went fine--no issues. This is second time I've used them for tree work. First time being after Sandy.

The owner, John, took a personal interest in making sure I was happy with the job Adirondack did, sent a crew out twice to correct a problem. He couldn't have been nicer or more professional, his team is great, and the tree looks absolutely perfect. I will never again use any company but Adirondack!

Situation: Very large American Elm in back yard with branches sagging onto my second story roof plus some large deadfall about 40 feet up in crown; Large Hackberry in side yard with branches overhanging my garage roof; Mature Pin Oak in front yard that needed thinning and some dead and misdirected branches removed. Called Adirondack in July and they came out within a few days, thoroughly discussed my needs, and gave me an estimate back in July, but said they could not trim the elm until November to avoid attracting Dutch elm beetles. Estimator was very knowledgeable. Called them back in October and scheduled for Dec 4, giving 10% deposit. I needed my neighbor's permission for trimming the Hackberry in the side yard and they were very helpful in explaining how to use the back of the proposal/contract for this. Sent them the needed forms via email. They called with a reminder the day before the scheduled service. Their crew of five arrived just prior to the scheduled time, reviewed the work to be done with me, and started right in, beginning with the elm in back. They had one man up in the elm with ropes and the rest working from the ground and ladders. They cut the overhanging branches significantly back from the house roof, elevated the lower branches, and removed the deadfall. On the Hackberry, they worked mostly from up in the tree, cutting back the branches overhanging my garage, elevating the lower branches, and thinning the interior. On the pin oak, they also worked almost exclusively from up in the tree, taking out dead and misdirected branches and thinning the interior. They trimmed a few additional small dead branches I specifically pointed out. They cleaned up and hauled away every trimmed branch and twig, raking part of my yard in the process and leaving only a little sawdust. They moved and replaced my patio furniture and cleaned off the patio and driveway with a blower. They appeared to be taking all the right safety precautions when climbing and working in the trees and on ladders, and were very professional during the whole process. They showed me their work and made sure I was satisfied before packing up. The work was done in just under 2.5 hours. I'm very pleased with their work. Probably not the cheapest, but I'm convinced they're the best.

I want to express my disappointment with this company. Over 3 weeks ago, the company and I exchanged emails to set up an appointment for an appraisal. I explained that I would need the latest appointment they had because I needed to take time off from work AND that I would have to give 3 weeks notice to get that time off. Based on our email exchanges, we confirmed that I would have the 4pm appt (the 2nd of Nov). When I got home that day (after leaving work early), I had a voicemail on my home/land line that said that someone (Dan) was at the house. This was at 245pm. I called immediately his cell number (since I have caller id) and left a message because he didn't answer his phone. This was just before 4pm. I also called the company line (which according the website was open until 5pm) but no one picked up. I tried three times between 4pm and 5pm to reach someone and had no success. I asked for the estimates based on the great reviews from Angie's List but I am very disappointed with how things have turned out. If this is the way this company treats potential clients, then I hesitate to even contract with your company.

Outstanding. I cannot recommend them higher. They were prompt, safe, and did their best to not disturb the yard more than necessary. When they arrived, they told me my back yard would look just like it did when they got there, minus a few trees. That is exactly what it looked like when they finished. They brought rakes and raked the entire yard to get up all of the debris. You couldn't tell they had been there...except for the missing trees of course. I will use them again...and no one else.

Adirondack by far gave the most competitive estimate for a giant oak tree that was leaning on our side yard. The crew was excellent and was able to remove the tree and all waste without incident in just over half a day. The location of the tree was anxiety inducing given its proximity to our house and our neighbors but there was no issue at all with the removal. After the tree was cut down it was found that the entire base of the tree was rotted out so we definitely saved ourselves money and future damage by having the tree removed. We will have them out every year to check our trees as long as we live in this house.

I was very impressed. I chose Adirondack because they had the best certification I could find on Angie's List and I think that really makes a difference. I had requested a couple things that they could've done and charged me for but the guy explained what would happen after a couple growing seasons and why it would be a bad idea for the tree. I really appreciated that he talked me out of something that he could've made some money on but that I would've regretted later. They brought a 5-man crew and were done in about 2 and half hours. That was about 4 months ago. A couple days ago we pulled into the driveway and my wife said, "These trees look wonderful. Those guys did a great job."

I cannot say enough about Adirondack. I have lived in my current house for 8 year and I have been using them since day one for all tree related work. They are responsive, always on time and do top notch work. Recently, we needed two large dead pines removed. They performed the work within a week of the request and did a fantastic job. Not only that, their pricing is consistently the lowest and they are one of the only certified arborists in the area. The reason I have chosen to review them for this job is because they had an issue removing one of the trees, where the equipment suffered a burst hydraulic hose which sprayed hydraulic fluid on my lawn. The point is that they notified me of the incident immediately and within a day had one of their lawn care contractors come out to assess the problem and take care of it ASAP. Adirondack's owner is committed to doing the job right and taking care of any issues that may arise. A top notch company and I would not recommend any other tree specialists in the area.

The service was outstanding from the initial telephone call made to the Company to the last contact. The staff is efficient down to the very last detail. I made an appointment for the estimate and the young man was on time, thorough in his examination of the trees and shrubs to be serviced. We walked my property and he made suggestions and recommendations, which were great (now that the work has been done and I can see) I was promised a written proposal within 24 hours, It was received in far less time. We scheduled a date and time, the crew was prompt and they did a fantastic job, respected the little flower bed and sculpture in my yard. They had to also step onto my Neighbor' s property to do some of the work. She had given authorization for this and was also very pleased at the professionalism of the company and the entire process. The crew of four young men worked hard and were very professional. It was so refreshing when I discovered that one of the crew members working hard was a family member and proud to be continuing his family's tradition of providing excellent service to the Washington Metropolitan community. I really appreciate how the young men stopped periodically to ask me to inspect. Please note: I was standing from afar watching them work. I will be using them again to care and service the trees on my property. I highly recommend them, especially in my neighborhood, where there are so many older and beautiful trees to be trimmed, cared for and preserved.

I asked if they could help with an infected tree or shrub and hey referred me to the UMD cooperative extension for advice http://extension.umd.edu/hgic I appreciated as ADK Tree experts said spraying trees or shrubs is outside their scope of work.

Appointment went well the crew was very responsive and responsible.

I had a dead tree that needed removal and several other trees that needed pruning and trimming. They made the whole process very easy. I got other proposals for the job but went with Adirondack because they offered a competitive price and Vince, who came out to do the estimate, was very knowledgeable, straightforward and professional. The office staff was easy to work with for the scheduling and paperwork. And finally, the crew that came out to do the work was punctual, accomplished exactly what I wanted done and cleaned everything up beautifully. There are a lot of tree service companies out there, but this is one that listens to what the customer wants, provides knowledgeable recommendations and does what they say they're going to do - all at a reasonable price.
