Both original estimator and crew arrived as scheduled. Estimator provided clear advice and description of work to be done. Crew did a great job, worked carefully, cleared debris.

I received four quotes for this work from reputable local tree service companies, and the estimates ranged very widely -- from $2400 to $4200 for the same work. Two of the companies gave me quotes within a few days, Adirondack needed about 10 days to get someone to me (but met the date they committed to), and one company responded too late to be considered (but still provided a bid). Adirondack was the lowest bid by about 20%, and has excellent customer reviews (97% of their 567 Angie's List customers rated them with an "A" or "B"). The locust tree required the use of a bucket truck to remove the tree in sections. The worker in the bucket, who did all of the roping and cutting, was highly skilled, and they managed to get everything down without dropping anything on my roof or gutters. When the tree was done they swept my roof and yard, and ground the stump. The crew was onsite for about six hours, including clean-up; they arrived promptly as scheduled and completed all work on the scheduled day.

The work was done without any damage to a nearby the garage. They did exactly what they said they would do. The site was clean and the job handled very professionally.

Appointment was made for an estimate, and no one every showed up. When I called, female on the phone said I cancelled the appointment and offered no solution. Clearly wasn't interested in a large job. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow Up - The owner, John Anna Jr, called after he read the review on Angie's List. He apologized for his company dropping the ball and not responding in the manner he expects. He didn't offer lame excuses, only his humble apologies. He also asked if we needed work done in the future, that we call him and give him the opportunity to make it right. This is the way customer service is done. We will call John the next time we need work done.

The crew was on time, friendly and efficient. The big maple was cut down in no time. It is amazing how fast they all do their work and how well they clean up the site.

They were AMAZING--very efficient and very skilled. They had to work in a very tight space, where their trucks narrowly fit and where there were houses and buildings very close to the tree. They did a great job, were very responsive to any requests and cleaned up very well. I would hire them again anytime. We talked to 4 other services, and as it turned out, Adirondack had the best price. However before we knew the estimate we felt so confident in them that we were thinking of hiring them as long as the price was in the general ballpark of the others. What a wonderful bonus to find it was actually the best price of the lot. Note that they do not do assessments, however--they just do the job that you want. We hired an independent arborist to give us an assessment (there was a question about how risky this tree's situation was) even though the other companies we talked with did give us assesments. We decided the tree needed to be removed, and we scheduled with Adirondack to do the removal. We had to wait about 3 or 4 weeks for the removal, and also a couple of weeks for them to come out and schedule an initial estimate. As the job was not urgent, that was okay for us, but the wait for the estimate was the only downside in our view, but not a very important one.

The crew that came out to do the service were professional and did a great job, especially with the clean up.

Things went smoothly from start to finish. They arrived on time, removed the tree, left little debris behind. This was the second time we have used them. I have been very satisfied both time.

The experience of working with them was exceptional from start to finish. Everyone from estimate to removal was nice, professional and skilled. The removal, which required a crane and other heavy equipment, went exceptionally smoothly, including a complicated extraction of a section of the tree with iron fence embedded in it. The price also was the most competitive of four bids we solicited, and they handled the street closure permit, something the other three companies wanted us to navigate. Cannot recommend them enough.

Perfectly. First, the estimate was about a quarter of what I expected (and after 30 years in the same house our estimates are usually close). They removed dead branches that appeared to be unreachable. They totally cleaned up after themselves.

They were in and out in about 3 hours, maybe less. Works area was cleaned after work was finished.

They showed up on time, performed all tasks in the estimate and cleaned up well.

As far as I know, I talked to another person that used them, and their price was comparable with others. I was lucky.

The man who came out to give me an estimate was on time, took his time explaining what needed to be done and answered all of my questions. When the crew came to do the work, they were punctual, the foreman was very professional, his crew was efficient and thorough, they cleaned up all the bebris, and the final result was great. I received estimates from other companies and their was the best. I would definitely recommend them to a friend and will use them again in the future.

Expert service at a reasonable price. Performed significant tree trimming on a mature Yoshino cherry tree, removed a dying Spruce tree with stump grinding. This is the best (and most cost effective) tree service I have ever used in 32 years! Highly recommend!

There were many very small twigs breaking and dropping on the ground. The job was completed in a very timely manner the entire area cleaned to perfection. This is the fourth time i have had Adirondack and highly recommend them to everyone.

First-rate. Adirondack first alerted me to the need for a tree removal permit, which I would not have known about otherwise. They came out to provide an estimate while I was at work, but called and explained everything thoroughly. The actual tree removal was fast (under one hour; it was a small tree) and they took everything away. Could not be happier. If I had known how painless this would be I would have had it done six months ago!

They were safe and they did a fine job. They were responsible, brought the proper equipment, and knew how to deal with the challenge. There were 2 houses behind us that are closer to the tree than we are. One of the houses had a cesspool and a well that they had to avoid. They were extremely careful with the neighboring properties. They handled it all very well and I would recommend them.

It took a couple of weeks to get an estimate but being that busy was a good sign. Estimator was punctual and very knowledgeable. The work was scheduled but postponed because of rain. The work was rescheduled for a week later. The team did a great job and left the grounds as clean as possible considering everything that needed to be done. Overall very pleased.
