Responded very quickly to provide an estimate, which was impressive considering the extent of damage in the DC area following this storm. However, they were unable to do the work for several days--again, understandable but disappointing considering how the tree was resting on the house. The price seemed high for the amount of work and the amount of time it took. However, the work was performed very professionally, no further damage was done during the removal, and cleanup was comprehensive. So, all-in-all, it was a high price but a good value. UPDATE: In reply to Adirondack's comments, they are correct that I inadvertently entered the wrong price--it was $2300. However, they misrepresent the acceptance of the proposal and scheduling. We scheduled the work (to be performed on 7/5) on the same day as the estimate (6/30). However, because their staff were (understandably) overwhelmed on 6/30, THEY were unable to email or FAX the proposal to be signed until 7/3. So, it was scheduled on 6/30, paperwork completed by both sides on 7/3, and work done on 7/5. Again, the quality of the work was exceptionally high and, given the circumstances, their responsiveness was very good (thus a B rating). As I said, I would use them again. However, compared to non-emergency tree work I have done in the past, the price was pretty high, so I would want other estimates first. That is the reason for my overall rating.

Terrible. The crew dropped large limbs onto my deck causing damage (the railing is now loose and the wood dented). I watch them drop several limbs in a row suspended by ropes directly onto my deck before I ran outside to stop them. One of the crew then came up onto the deck with a saw to remove the huge limb that was now hanging from my railing. After that fiasco, they damaged the road in front of my house, tearing huge foot long gouges into the asphalt with the large equipment used to remove the debris. When Mr. Anna (the owner) called me, he told me he felt that since the deck is not brand new, any damage caused by his crew is beyond his concern. He then absolved himself of responsibility for the damage to our street claiming that it was "not my property anyway". Well John, it is someone's property that you damaged, even if it belongs to the county. Its also ugly and its directly in front of my house. So much for curb appeal, thanks for that. He accused me of having an agenda (like I wanted money). I told him all I wanted was my property to be repaired, and he continued to accuse me of subterfuge. As you can imagine, I was not happy with his suggestions. I called him a choice expletive, and then he threatened to "kick my @$$". Yup, several times. Only use this company if you don't mind a little damage to your property and the owner threatening to beat you up of you have a problem with that. UPDATE: In response to the company reply below, I would like to add that the owner is a liar as well. He denies threatening to come to my house and "kick my @$$ ? his EXACT words. After that he wonders why I declined his invitation to come back to my house??? Avoid this guy at all costs. Dangerous man.

They showed up on time and did a terrific job. The price was competitive with other service providers. I had hired them a few years before when they had done a good job, so I decided to go for the quality and reliability I already knew. I couldn't be happier!

They arrived promptly with a professional crew that took out the tree quickly. They were careful not to damage the fence and shed right next to the tree. I priced other companies and they had the best price and did a great job. I'll rehire the next time I need work done.

Adirondack Tree Experts did a superlative job from beginning to end. In the proposal phase, they told me exactly what I needed to do to get the tree removed. They also knew, without me telling them, that I needed permission from my neighborhood association and neighbors before they could do the job. The price quoted was extremely fair. It was SO fair for the large size of the job, that I didn't even ask for the Angie's List discount (10%)! Despite the fact that they remain incredibly busy from this summer's storms, once I gave a deposit they were at my house to do the work within days. The crew behaved as though they genuinely like the work, and they were quick, efficient, and gave extra effort to protect my other landscaping. They cleaned up beautifully when the job was done. Several neighbors remarked at the great job Adirondack did, and they were surprised the cost was so reasonable. I would call them again without hesitation.

They were wonderful. They were very kind and it was an overall great experience. They were also able to let me know that the trees were safe now.

They were great. They gave me an advance call To confirm date and time. They were punctual and professional. This tree was down and cleaned up in a bit less than two hours! I am impressed by their work and have recommended them to my neighbors as a lot of us had damage from the one 29th storm.

The process and work went very well. Andirondack showed up as scheduled for the estimate and were very competitive on price. They also reminded me that additional discounts were available on their web site and Angies List. They also provided an extra discount when my next door neighbor scheduled some work with the on the same day. The day of the work they had a large crew show up on time. They were a little delayed in getting started, but once they did got going, they made quick work of the trees. There were at least 7 or 8 guys on the crew for my yard, and they were a whirlwind of activity. Once the trees were down and loaded up or chipped, they did an incredible job cleaning up, to the point that you nearly did not know they were there. The clean up was so thorough that they even got a ladder out so that they could blow off the saw dust from my roof and sky lights. This was a very impressive crew, and a good company to work with. I recommended to someone else who was also very pleased.

I especially appreciated the suggestions provided when arborist came to give me the estimate. I was ready to take down a spruce tree that I thought was dead. The arborist explained that he believed the tree had plenty of life left and that some of the dead branches on it were due to lack of sunlight from neighboring trees. The workers who did the work arrived promptly, completed the trimming quickly, and removed all debris. I felt the price was very reasonable for the work they performed.

Poor experience!!! Called on July 16th for an estimate. Given a date of July 23rd. Called to confirm on July 20th and my name was no where in their books. Given it was THEIR mistake I was expecting them to squeeze me in...not the case. Couldn't come out until the 30th. May be a good company with quality of actual service, however an F in customer support. WIll never use in the future.

My husband and I were extremely impressed with the organization and professionalism of this company. They arrived on time and finished this big job in just one day. We had two huge trees cut down, one of which was over our and the other entangled in utility wires. The crew was very friendly and worked very hard to get the job done.They cleaned our yard, the street and even our rooftop when they were finished. We would absolutely hire this company again and recommend them to anyone who is looking for a tree service.

I was impressed with ADK Trees. I was a little hesitant in dealing with a large company, but the crew was very professional and very personable. I had the estimate done and then needed to make a change to which trees were removed. Despite adding an additional small tree, they did not charge me any more for the service. The crew arrived on time, worked all day and did a good job cleaning up afterwards. The only issue that came up was that they dropped one of the trees into another tree that was not suppose to be removed. As a result, this second tree was damaged to the point where it would die, so the crew removed the tree at no additional cost. It was not a big deal for us since we were thinking of taking that tree out, but I would be upset if this happened to a tree that I really needed.

It was a great experience and I would recommend them in the future.

first I want to say that throughout the whole process everyone at Adirondack was friendly, professional and accommodating. I was called by a very friendly and helpful young lady about 2 minutes after I submitted my online request for an estimate and she scheduled an appointment with the Arborist. Dan was on time. We walked the property together. I was concerned about the many of our Maples because they seem to be dropping branches, sometimes big ones that would hit the our and our neighbors cars and houses. Dan told me that he thought the trees were mostly healthy and that Maples are "self pruning" and do drop dead branches (who knew). In the end, my mother and I decided to remove (even though Dan thought it was healthy) a very large Maple between the house and prune some of the others. I selected Adirondack because in addition to being a friendly and professional organization with the lowest bid and great reviews, they had a dedicated crane crew. The large Maple was located in a very tight space between two houses and I believed a crane would be the safest (for the houses) method of removal. I watch the whole process. The crew seemed to make an easy job of it. My mother was impressed because there was no evidence that they had been there other that a very large was now missing. The crew thoroughly clean up after themselves. Great job Adirondack

This was a difficult job as both trees were entangled in overhead wires. The price was very reasonable, and Vincent's team was exceptionally professional, efficient and very careful to take precautions in order to ensure their safety and that of the neighbors. Furthermore, the team thoroughly cleaned the yard of all debris. I was very pleased with Adirondack Tree Experts work.

It was an overall successful transaction. The people I spoke to with regard to scheduling were very nice and easy to deal with. They were able to schedule me within a week. The team showed up within the specified window, did an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards.

Excellent service. Customer service on the phone was great, and they sent someone out to give an estimate that week (they were able to look at the trees and give an estimate without my having to be home). The price they estimated was far more reasonable then another estimate that I received. The tree experts that did the actual pruning and tree removal were very efficient and professional. They even removed a couple of very small trees free of charge, while they were there. I would certainly use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Adirondack and was able to schedule an estimate for 2 days later. The gentleman that came out for the estimate was professional and on time. He clearly explained how his team would handle each tree. The estimate was extremely reasonable compared to others we received. We called a few days later to schedule the job. The receptionist was very nice and answered all questions I had regarding payment. After putting down the deposit, the job was scheduled for 1 week later. The receptionist called the day before to tell us the time the team would arrive. The team arrived exactly when they said they would and went straight to work.The guys worked fast but still paid attention to detail. When they were done, the trees looked amazing! No dead branches, nothing touching the house, no debris left on the ground. I was very impressed with the Adirondack's work and will definitely hire them again for future tree trimming needs.
