It was very good. It was just the $175. They were exactly on time. He was excellent. I would tell others to definitely use them.

He confirmed that the electrical control board was no longer functioning and had to be replaced. The part price was $190 and I used the $99 special offer for service. Jim said he would check so see when he could get the part and would call me back. Later that day Jim did call and said that he had the part. I asked if he could install it on Thursday, June 11, 2015 and he said he would. On Thursday, he called before he came over to my home. He went right to work and replaced the electrical control board in my washing machine. He tested it and told me everything was working fine. He told me that if anything failed to work properly to call him. Everything to this day is still functioning properly. Jim was very personable and professional. I would not hesitate to hire him again.

I purchased a $99 deal from Home Systems on Sunday. The serviceman arrived on Wednesday and assessed the situation. He informed me that I had a faulty control board on my dishwasher and it may cost between $130 - $150. He called back the next day and said the part will cost $130. I called him back and accepted the price. He came on that Saturday and installed the part. The serviceman very professional; he was punctual and always wore booties when in the house.

He was very prompt in scheduling the service and he was right on time for the appt. He inspected the freezer and repair the parts. He was very professional and will definitely use him in the future!

Jim returned my call immediately. He came out the next morning and diagnosed the problem with my dishwasher. He returned the next morning and installed the new part. Very polite, very prompt, very profession, very friendly. I will definitely call Home Systems Appliance Repair again if I have an appliance problem.

I bought an Angie's List "deal" for $99 on Sunday. On Sunday, Jim emailed back, asking me to phone the office to schedule the appointment, as they don't book appointments via email. I emailed the GE fridge model number and my phone number. Jim phoned early Monday morning, saying he could book a repair Tuesday between 9-1 and would phone 20 minutes prior to arriving. He did exactly that. He said by having the model number in advance, he was able to bring along the replacement part. He said the job would take about the hour, so except for the cost of the part, the Angie's List deal would probably come close to covering the repair time. He wore booties (without me asking), was dressed professionally for the job, covered the floor where he would be working, and even wiped the filthy floor under the fridge, which was obvious when he pulled out the appliance. The job was exactly as he described, but here's the best part: Five years ago (3-17-10) we had the same ice and water valve replaced by a GE authorized dealer. According to the receipt in my file, that repair cost a total of $252.95: 189.99 for labor, 59.40 for the valve kit. Today, the total was almost $100 less for the same job: 99 for the Angie's List deal which covered labor, and 57 for the valve kit, for a total of $156. I don't know many things that cost less today than five years ago, but I was thrilled this did! I recommend this company enthusiastically.

James Charles came out around 8:30 in the morning to repair the pilot light in my stove. I was polite, professional, and even fixed an extra issue with the stove. He did a great job and I would recommend him to anyone.

I purchased the $99 deal which allowed for 2 trips; one to diagnose and one to fix. The provider was prompt and friendly and able to fix the problem quickly. We paid an additional amount for the replacement part. Overall it was a very smooth transaction and I would definitely call on them again.

I purchased a Angies list deal from Home System Appliances on Monday, May 18th to repair a washing machine in a tenants unit. They promptly contacted me within a few hours to discuss details for the job. After confirming the details I wrote down when I purchased the deal they said they would take care of everything else. On Tuesday I received a call from them stating that they had scheduled a time with the tenant to do the work Thursday the 21st in the morning. Then on Thursday morning I received a call upon completion of the work with details of what they did to resolve the problem. The service provided could not have been easier for me and was all done with excellence. I look forward to using them again on any future appliance repairs.

Excellent. He did a thorough check of my frig and replaced exactly what was causing the issues. I feel like a have a new freezer now. Perfect.

He was good and efficient. The washing machine is working. I would have liked a written estimate so I could have prepared for the cost.

They diagnosed the problem quickly and returned the next day with a new ice maker and performed the install. Every detail was clearly communicated and there were no surprises. We will use this company again in the future if/when the need arises.

I purchased a $99 Big Deal from Angie's List for Home Systems Appliance Repair to repair a large appliance. I contacted them and scheduled a convenient time for the repair of my refrigerator. On the day of the repair Jim Charles contacted me to confirm when he planned to arrive at my house. He arrived on time and diagnosed my refrigerator and determined that the "start device" needed to be replaced. He had to order the part, and returned a few days later to install it. So far, my refrigerator seems to working fine again. Jim Charles performed the repair in a very professional and respectful manner. While in my house, he wore shoe covers to insure that he did not bring any outside dirt into my house.

The service tech responded to our needs promptly and was knowledgable about our dryer. He spruced up our dryer and got it working efficiently again. He seemed honest about the problems and was a diligent worker while fixing the problems. We were impressed with everything. The price was great and the quality of work was also great. I would recommend to anyone needing appliance repair.

Jim said it was a known problem with GE fridges that the water dispenser would freeze. In fact, GE had to come up with a heater to install around the water dispenser to deal with this issue. Can you imagine? GE builds jet engines and locomotives, and they can't design a refrigerator water dispenser that won't freeze. He suspected the freezing of food was due to faulty sensors in the fridge. So, he put the heater in the water dispenser. He then discovered a flapper that controls the flow of cold air from the freezer to the fridge had fallen off / come apart, and that was causing the food to freeze. A day or two later, the dispenser froze again. Jim promptly returned. He said the wires in the fridge and in the heater were very short and hard to splice together, and perhaps there was not a good connection the first time. A few days later, no water from the dispenser. Jim returned a third time and had to install another heater (for a total of two) on the dispenser. He said sometimes it took two to keep it thawed. Unfortunately, when he made the third visit, we were having other kitchen work done and the water had been cut off. Although the dispenser had frozen before the water was cut off, without a water flow he could not determine if he had finally solved the problem. He very patiently pack up his tools and told me to call when the water was back on. There were no additional charges for his several visits and everything is working fine. He was prompt and courteous and always there when he said he would be. We recommend him very highly.

The job was a small job so small that Jim didn't even charge me based upon parts and labor. He only charged his service charge which was a number he communicated to me ahead of time. I want to compliment Jim on his prompt and professional service. I will also commend Jim on his communication throughout the process. Mine is a rental property so I cannot be at the property to oversee. Jim was very easy to work with, he communicated his schedule to me, promised a call from the property to give me an estimate, etc. Jim was punctual and followed through on all of his commitments. In short, I will use Jim again if I need any work done on my appliances and would recommend you give him a call to try him out for yourself.

Did a wonderful job, was on time for service, was very thorough on explanations through every step of the process. Made an appointment as soon as possible, responded quickly to initial phone call, and showed up promptly as promised on day of servie. Did a great job with the fix and kept the price reasonable. Dryer is working better now than it has in the last five years, and I truly believe his work has extended the life of the appliance. I would definitely bring this company in again.

I emailed HSAR about my dryer not heating properly. Jim called me the following day (Friday) to set-up an appointment for Saturday. Jim was very professional & pleasant. Unfortunately my dryer needs to be replaced. I paid the service charge of $95.00.

We were able to schedule an appointment with Home Systems promptly. Jim arrived on time as promised and made a thorough inspection of our washer and our electric dryer. He believed the washer's performance was deteriorating due to age and recommended that we replace it. His honest assessment ensured that we did not make unnecessary expenditures on repairs. He also determined that our sub-par dryer performance was the result of deficiencies in our dryer venting system. He recommended a vendor that we consider for this latter work. I believe Jim's diagnosis of our washer and dryer problems was sound and appreciated his politeness, diligence, and professionalism in interacting with me.

Made initial contact through Angie's List mail since it was after business hours, and Jim wrote back within the hour for more information. He called the next day with his ideas on what our problem might be and set the appointment. His diagnosis was spot on (as was his estimate) and he not only fixed those problems, he repaired a loose seal in, and cleaned up, the oven door. And he was friendly -- he definitely gets the call on our next appliance job.

I originally contacted Jim Charles at Home Systems Appliance Repair because I thought that the drive belt on my dryer needed replaced. After requesting a service call via Angie's List, Jim contacted me in a timely manner. He was very up front with the costs involved in the anticipated repair. He showed up on time and very professional and courteous. After inspecting the dryer it turned out that there was a minor problem that needed corrected. He made the repair and only charged me the basic service call fee. A very honest technician! I would most definitely use Home Systems Appliance Repair again! Jim is a "GEM"... Not many like him out there!
