I could not have been happier with everyone involved from the people on the phone to the 3 men who did a great job moving my furniture. They were prompt, called when they were on their way. They were polite, fast and very cautious.

+ -1 moreThe movers were great. But, both my wife and I feel that we should have been more attentive to the "fix priced" bid we got. It was for the move, not boxing. We got charged more for boxing items. But the sales agent saw all of the items that needed to be boxed too. Error on our part but the sales person did not convey completely to my wife and I about the "unfixed" part. Although I checked "would not hire again" on this evaluation I believe that we might. But I would get a verbal as well as written commitment as to what we were signing up to. Be aware.
Description of Work: We moved about 50 miles. They moved our entire household.

We formed a partnership with them for a little over a year and they helped us with our storage needs until we were ready to move into our retail location. Description of Work: This was a partial move from a house to an apartment in a neighboring state, about 1-1/2 to 2 hrs away. Estimator met with me about two weeks ahead of the move to assess the scope of the job, and to provide information on the process. He was extremely polite, professional and knowledgable. A rep called a few days before and a day before the move to see if I had questions and to confirm times. On the day of the move, 3 men arrived on time exactly as promised. They were friendly and did a great job loading up and unloading at the new location. At the conclusion of the job, they went over what was done to determine my level of satisfaction. I was very pleased with every aspect of my dealings with Hampden, and would definitely recommend and unseemly again.

Description of Work: I moved across the country from MD to WA. The company took good care of my possessions on both ends of the move. The driver had some problems with helpers not showing up on time (not his fault), so went ahead with packing and moving what he could by himself in rainy MD. He inventoried everything carefully. I hope never to move cross country again but would recommend this company to anyone.

+ -1 moreGave lots of boxes and packing materials. Timely move. The team that unpacked the truck in Florida was the best. Very professional in terms of knowing how to reassemble and move heavy items undamaged. Couple of issues with a broken staircase spindle and hole in the wall on the packing end. I was able to fix these. The team that packed up the house didn't have quite the experience, but worked hard. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Moved a 4 bed, 2 car garage home from Baltimore area to Key Largo Florida.

When I got my belongings we noticed no damage to our stuff. The price they quoted they stuck with it and the price was reasonable. The dates that they provided of delivery was right on. The crew and the staff of making arrangements were professional. Very courteous, thorough, and knowledgable. They are also give you a way of tracking your belongings during transit. I would highly recommend their services to others.

+ -1 moreOur experience with Hampden has been great so far. They moved about 8100 pounds into storage for us. The estimator Dan was extremely professional. The coordinator Kelly was very responsive and courteous. The movers themselves were great - there was no damage to the house or the inventory. And they were polite and hard-working throughout a very hot day. We haven't completed the move yet, but based on the first part of the move I expect no problems with the next stage. I would definitely recommend them.

+ -1 moreJim Birch was on-time and very polite. He went over the legal information that neither of the other 2 companies bothered to address. He offered great advice to help reduce costs as well as handle items during the move. The estimate was much lower than the other 2 companies and I would have used their services, but we found out last minute the my husbands' company was paying for the move. Overall the experience was very good and I would recommend them to provide an estimate for someone moving either locally or long-distance in the future.

I liked that they provided as many boxes as we needed, they were right down the street from us so it was convenient, they were good in getting back to us. I wasn't actually happy with the move, because when we got here to Pennsylvania our settlement was moved sooner and even before the guys knew that they could download when we were having settlement because we were only couple of units away. They left before we left the settlement and left all the stuff just sitting here. I will not use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreIt didn't go well. They damaged a number of pieces of furniture, some of which were valuable antiques. Even though we purchased insurance, it was difficult to reach them, to have them return phone calls, and to have them honor the insurance agreement itself.
