Got the company name from our plumber. Called; withing 24 hours the owner came out to look at the site and gave us an estimate, broken down into several factors (cost per foot for drilling, cost per foot for liner, if needed, cost of permit, cost of finishing-off and capping). It then rained steadily for several days. The next week-day after the rains, the company came out and began drilling. They were down 300 feet in about 3-4 hours and ran out of all the drill-string they brought with them. They returned the next morning and continued and reached a good aquifer in about another 2-3 hours, at 500 feet. When they left another 2 hours later, the upper part of the well was lined, mortared and capped, and ready for the plumber. We did not ask them to clean up the dirt and rock-dust from the drilling because we had other uses for that material.
