Edgar Plumbing solved the problem at my dad's house quickly and at a reasonable price.

This is the second time that I used Edgar Plumbing. The first time, I had a leak in the ceiling of my basement. Recently I had a leak in my kitchen ceiling. Edgar Plumbing promptly answered my call and was able to quickly come out and inspect the issue. They were very professional and explained everything that was going on through the process. They were able to locate the problem and fix the issue. I definitely will continue to use them in the future. This company is the epitome of Professional with a reasonable price..

Have hired Bob Edgar since 1999 for several jobs. As always, outstanding professional who ensures all work meets code and highest quality standards.

I called to get help with an urgent call for one of our properties in Abingdon, and the woman on the line told me, "We don't work with property management companies."

Everything went smooth and operates as expected.

We had a plumbing emergency the evening of 12/26. We called a company which came out and took care of it that evening and said someone would be out to run a camera thru the line. They did that on 12/29 and left an estimate of the cost to excavate, remove and replace the line. That day we looked on Angie's list for some companies to call for second opinion and found Edgar Plumbing. Left a message and Mr. Edgar called first thing the next day. He was very willing to talk with me and I recounted our problem and the results from the camera being run thru the line. He asked very specific questions in order to more fully understand events leading up to the initial problem and what had been done. He asked if the other company had given us a copy of the video and when I said no, he explained that it was their practice to give one to customers so they would have it for their records. Although he said that since I had seen the video when the first company ran the camera, he did not need to do it again. However, I explained that despite him having to charge us , I still wanted his to do his own video and we set it up for12/31. He and his associate arrived about 10 minutes early. He explained exactly what they would, put cloths down to protect the floor and proceeded. Throughout the video, his associate and Mr. Edgar explained exactly what we were seeing and answered all of my questions. Mr. Edgar was very professional and took me outside to show me where our sewer line ran and how they would go about the replacement if hired. He and Bob (who ran the camera) were very helpful and reviewed the findings with me and their recommendation. They were very careful in the house and left the area as clean as it had been when they arrived. Mr. Edgar said he would email me an estimate probably Friday but it came on January 1. Everything in the proposal was exactly as he had described it to me. After thinking about the 2 proposals, we decided to go with Mr. Edgar even though he was a little more expensive than the other company. I felt very comfortable having his company do this major job for us because he listened to what I said, addressed my concerns, was willing to take whatever time I needed to understand all that was involved. We notified him of our decision and he immediately let us know that he would line up the inspector, talk with Ms. Utility and get the permit along with talking to the person he used for excavation work. In addition, he sent a letter thanking us for giving him the opportunity to work on this. The work was completed on 1/14/2015 and we were not disappointed. They arrived earlier than the appointed time, protected our lawn as much as possible and did a wonderful job from beginning to end. They were polite, professional and did a yeoman's job in making sure they put all the soil back and tamped it down. In addition, they seeded, laid straw and raked the lawn to assure it was as level as possible when they left. Mr. Edgar came the next day to rake and clean up more dirt and put gravel down on the 2 sections of our sidewalk that had to be removed. I cannot speak more highly of the great job his company did and we will definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone who needs plumbing work done. I greatly respect his business practices utilized throughout this project. It is very difficult today to find providers that are prompt, professional and take pride in a job well done. I consider us very fortunate to have found him!

The events that lead up to the realization that there is something wrong with plumbing in your house is bad enough but then when it turns out that the sewer line on the property of your 1920 Victorian home has multiple cracks and holes in it...well, something has to be done and done soon because it's not going to fix itself. So thank you Angie's List for leading me to Bob Edgar of Edgar Plumbing and Heating. He came out to our home soon after I called and he, along with "Bob" who works with him came up with a way to do the replacement without tearing up most of the side walk/yard. The process took a few days and, during that time, I watched these men do quality work while always being professional, friendly, and nice to be around. It's been my experience over the years that there are many service professionals who can do a particular craft and do it well enough to pass muster but some fall short when it comes to the finishing work. That final attention to detail by Edgar Plumbing and Heating, the care that they exhibited so that established shrubbery would not be damaged, and the fact that they removed slabs of sidewalk and then replaced them, is, to me, what makes this company stand out from another. As a testament to the work that was done, neighbors who had walked by on the morning that the excavation work was being done were shocked to come back later that evening and see that our property looked as if nothing had been dug up. That's how good a job Edgar Plumbing and Heating did. Now, when I tell people that our sewer line was replace, they don't believe me until I show them the pictures. This job is the first that we hired Edgar Plumbing and Heating for. The next was the replacement of a shower on the third floor of our home. They did a great job on that also. Check out that review! We've found our plumber here on Angie's List and are glad that we did.

The tiled wall of the 3rd floor shower in our 1920 Victorian home was falling apart more and more each day and needed to be replaced. Having used Edgar Plumbing and Heating for a sewer replacement the month before...there is a review on that also... we hired them to do the needed work. Once again, Edgar Plumbing and Heating were professional, considerate of our home, and friendly to work with. They not only did the plumbing work but also the replacement of the wall and the tile work too. The end result is that we now have a beautiful new tiled shower and a stopper in the tub where one did not exist before...and a new toilet. We are very happy to know that we have Edgar Plumbing and Heating as our plumber. There is no need for us to call anyone else. They're that good.

They replaced ice maker line and re-routed line for easier access. I called the office early afternoon and job was completed same day. Very efficient and professional. I hope not to need a plumber anytime soon, but I would certainly use there services in the future.

While I was in our crawl space for another reason, I saw that raw sewage from one of the bathrooms was being dumped on the ground. I couldn't tell if a pipe connection was broken, or if there was a worse problem. I called Edgar Plumbing and arranged for them to come out the next morning. Bob, the owner, and another Bob arrived promptly at 8:00, and got right to work to determine the problem. I had warned them on the phone that the opening was very small, but the second Bob was able to go in with no problem. After partially digging out the ancient cast iron pipe they could see that it was full of holes and tree roots, and could not be repaired. In spite of the very cramped area, (and the cold) they were able to dig out the old pipe and replace it the same day. We appreciated their prompt service, and I felt the price was reasonable. They were friendly and professional from start to finish--including my initial call. It was also obvious that owner and worker had a great deal of respect for each other, which I was happy to see. Highly recommended.

Called Edgar Plumbing at 8:00AM, they scheduled to come at 1:00PM, showed up on time, and completed work including drying out the wet floor. Good professional and courteous service. Bob explained what he was doing during repairs. Price rated at B because invoice was not broken down into parts and labor so I'm uncertain how to rate price. I'm not certain what an average hourly rate for plumbers is.

Excellent. Job was completed in one day. The job site was left clean.

He was excellent. He answered his phone right away. He came early this morning to fix it. He was very polite. He let no mess.

Phone call answered immediately and they sent a man right away. He identified the problem and made the repairs. He suggested that if anything goes wrong again, I replace the faucet in my kitchen sink as parts are no longer available for it. Very helpful, professional. Price just slightly higher than I expected but well within acceptable.

It was decently priced and they showed up on time. The guy who came was friendly and knowledgable.

Bob Edgar came to our home to provide a quote. We quickly found the best solution for our leaky toilet was to replace it with a modern 1.6 gallon per flush model. We ordered the new toilet and once delivered, set up the installation appointment. Bob (another Bob, not Bob Edgar) arrived at our home on time, totally prepared for the task, and ready to work. He made quick work of removing the old toilet and began installation of the new toilet. As old homes go, one issue uncovers about 3 others: come to find out, a waste water pipe ran too close to the toilet and would not allow installation of the new toilet we ordered. We decided to quickly buy another toilet locally (which we should have done to begin with) that we knew would fit in the space available. Rather than making another appointment, Bob graciously moved his schedule around and ended up removing and replacing 2 toilets in one visit when the original appointment only called for one. Edgar Plumbing was very accommodating and did a great job. I would definitely recommend them and will call them in the future for any other issues. I'm not sure how their price compared to other pricing as I didn't shop around... but, even if I paid a little more, it was well worth their professionalism, expertise, and all-around great attitude.

I called Edgar Plumbing and got a call back that day. Bob was at our house within 2 days, right on time, looking neat and professional. Our new faucet was installed and looks great. Bob took plenty of time and patiently explained all the answers to our questions. We felt extremely confident of his expertise. We love this company and will definitely be using them again. It's so great to find a terrific plumber!

They did not do any work, but they were very upfront and good with the quote. I have not used them because I am not going to use anyone and I am going to do the work myself. I was probably looking in the $400-$500 range. I did not get a formal estimate but the person who came ball parked it, as I decided not to get a formal estimate. They were very professional, very punctual and very straight forward. As a matter of fact, I told them that I was thinking of do it and he told me that was an even better idea and that I should probably go in that direction. Instead of trying to get the business or saying no and that they should do that work and remove it; he actually agreed with my thoughts and said that it was the direction he would go too. They were right on time and I would use their services again in the future.

The work went smoothly - we knew that he and his assistant were juggling several jobs at once. He was honest about this and I told him I didn't mind if we did not have as much advance notice or if he didn't always come on the day he thought he would. However, he always called the night before coming, and he and his assistant were always punctual, polite, utterly professional. They both took the time to explain what they were doing and why. I learned a lot about the house's plumbing through the process, which was great. There was a situation where in re-running a drain line outside he damaged a sprinkler line in the yard. He was very professional about it and though he maintained that he was not liable for this incidental damage as he was not told the sprinkler line was there (true) that he was willing to work out an arrangement wherein he would incur some of the cost of that repair. Overall, I'm very pleased with Mr. Edgar's attitude, and the quality, thoroughness, and long-sightedness of his work.

Very pleased. They showed up when promised, cleaned up the area and I paid a fair price. Also, I appreciated that they worked around my schedule. If anyone needs plumbing work done, call these guys!

They did a good job. They have a flat charge for coming out but other than that they do good work.

They provided the garbage disposal. Everything was very upfront and professional. They did clean work. Mr. Edgar did a really excellent job. I would strongly recommend him to anyone wanting to get a good plumber. They may not be the least expensive but I think if you want good work done, you have to pay for it and he really knows his business.

Everything was done right and Edgar Plumbing made it so easy for me. I felt that I made new friends after spending 3 days together with Bob Edgar and his partner.
