The workers arrived on time. The work was completed in an orderly manner. All materials were removed and work place cleaned. They removed the lumber concrete and workers were very pleasant.

Basement Waterproofing
In April we had 5 companies give us estimates to put an inside drain along 3 sides of the foundation. I found all the presentations to be very professional, extremely informative and very clear in their explanation of what they considered to be the problem, and with the manner in which they would fix it. The estimates ranged from $5490 to $6300. Even though we inquired whether the problem was with the foundation walls not being sealed well enough, they felt that the water was not coming from the walls, but from ground water seeping up from underneath the foundation. Even though they agreed it MAY be the walls, they still felt that the interior drain system would be the best to use because it would correct the problem whichever way the water was coming in and it was the only procedure they would guarantee. Well, after waiting for 6 months, and finding very little seepage especially with all this rain we have had recently, and with the advice of a local building inspector, we took a couple of panels off one wall and it is very apparent that a small amount of water does indeed come in through the wall. This indicates that the problem is that the outside of the lower level wall needs to be re-waterproofed, not that we have a ground water problem that is seeping up from beneath the foundation. We will be solving the problem with regrading the outside land to slope away from the house and new gutters.

First, and most importantly, my basement doesn't leak. Considering other basement waterproofing solutions, BWN Bentonite injection is the least intrusive and probably the most cost effective for a lot of basement leaking issues. The crew was responsive and hardworking and overall I think it was a adequate job. The only concern I had for the quality of work was the cement patching of the interior drainage trench. The cement patching around the entrance of my basement left a few ledges that made it very difficult to reinstall the carpeting. A few other things to consider when selecting a waterproofing company... 1. The waterproofing warranty only covers the work performed...nothing else. So if your basement floods again, all framing, carpeting, furniture and anything else in your basement is not protected. BWN will only come out and redo the waterproofing service. I'm not sure if this is standard for basement waterproofing warranties? 2. You are responsible for a significant amount of prep-work prior to the waterproofing technicians arriving. Again, not sure if this is the standard? I had to remove the carpeting, padding, tiles, remove pavers, move furniture, framing, insulation etc. 3. This procedure makes mess...mess of your front yard (ruts of wheelbarrows) a mess of you house (brick dust everywhere even with plastic barrier), and a mess of your pocketbook...basement waterproofing is expensive no matter what option you choose.

They were having some problems with their truck that morning, so they came a little bit late, however they were great in communicating with us and very honest and apologetic about the delay. I don't blame them at all and believe it was just bad luck. Even with that they were able to finish the job in 1 day, they left everything very clean, and the installation looks very professionally done. It has been below freezing lately so I haven't had a chance to see the pump in action, but everything passes that eye test. At first I was considering tackling the job myself, but now I'm happy that I had them do it. My only concern was with their pricing, which was slightly higher than most of the other estimates I got. I decided to go with them because of their great reviews on Angies List, and I think I made the right choice.

Everything went really well. Nothing bad to say. I stayed home and beside the normal loud noise when they were opening the cement, I could not really tell they were at home and was able to work normal work hours, telecommuting. Perfect.

The process was great. The company was on time and good to work with. The 4 guys that came and did the job were very knowledgable. The process took two days. My only regret was that I wish I knew that the drain/pump was going to expose the house to Radon. We put our house on the market, and then found out during a radon test, that we had super high levels of radon. The radon abatement contractor came and sealed up the drain/pump that was installed, and put in a fan.

After all of the heavy snow and ice this past winter we noticed that the carpeting in our basement was wet. We quickly diagnosed the issue as a crack in the foundation and had the crack sealed. Two months later, after several days of heavy rain we noticed a damp spot on the floor and decided that we needed a better solution since the issue was groundwater related. BWN was one of several companies that came in and provided a quote. Kim was our point of contact for BWN and he spent close to an hour talking me through different options and he recommended what he thought was the best approach. BWN wasn't the lowest quote that we received, but based on Kim's ability and interest in answering all of my questions and the write-ups I read on Angies's List and BBB we selected them. The crew arrived on time and completed the work in one day like they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves and after some heavy rains we have a dry basement.

Very positive experience. All employees were professional and friendly. They did not put on a hard-sell approach. After I committed to doing the work they even offered to do some additional work at no charge. They made neat work of a difficult job--they showed up when they said they would and everything was clean when they left. Their solution was more comprehensive than what others offered. They also offer a lifetime warranty that guarantees no water or they will come back for free. The only strange thing was the way they handled calls. When you call in for appointments you get what sounds like a call center and you make appointments through them. It feels like you are being passed around a bit, but it all worked out for me.

They basically lied about what was wrong to get my business. I am currently trying to get my money back from them because I gave them the deposit to do the work, which I don't think they are really contesting. I called the the sales rep who came out, and he said I would have to call installation because I signed a contract with them. I told him that was fine I would call the credit card company and put the payment under dispute because I signed it under false pretenses. They were responsive and polite.

Per your review, you had spoken to many people regarding the water in your basement and it is understandable how specific details may have gotten lost in translation. To clarify, your statements are as follows: BWN: "if there was an existing drain tile system, that it was not connected to the sump pump." Friend: "there was an existing system and that it was draining into the sump pump." Contractor: "cut through the existing drain tile system, and then built steps over it between two rooms, which is where the water was coming from." We agree, BWN discussed the possibility your existing drain tile system may not have been connected to your sump pump. It is clear, per your statement, that your existing drain tile system was previously "cut" by your contractor. The contractor's work confirms your drain tile system was not connected to the sump pump; this is not contradictory but rather mirrors your discussion with BWN. Your decision to cancel your BWN contract, after speaking with your friend, was within your rights without explanation. Whatever reason you felt necessary to falsely accuse BWN and provide an "F" rating after amicably canceling your contract, is not consistent with your stated experience or BWN's moral principles in business practice. We called for an estimate because we have a leak in our basement. Mike assessed our basement on the inside and outside, discussed several options, and determined that the leak was not in our basement, but rather from the previous owners' shoddy installation of the front door frame. Mike gave us advice and tips for fixing this problem, and was very honest and professional throughout.

Basement Waterproofing, Drain Pipe Installation
Basement Waterproofing Nationwide did an excellent job. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and as soon as they left we were hit with vicious thunderstorms that washed away a lot of the newly laid cement around the drain, leaving aggregate exposed. When I called BWN to explain what had happened, they immediately set up a date to have someone come fix it. The person they sent out was their service manager in the area, Joe Hadley. Not only did Joe fix it, but he improved upon an already outstanding job. I'm including photos. I wasn't home when Joe came to do the work, but I was very impressed with his work. We now have an entire waterproofing system set up by BWN that extends from our garage (inside and outside) to our backyard basement walkway area. The system features a sub-floor drainage system with a sump pump and outside sodium bentonite injections to help prevent water infiltration. They do an excellent job, at great prices and I would recommend them to others.
