The quality of the windows is great and the installation so far seems to be perfectly competent. I have two reservations about the workers, however. 1) They kept leaving the front door open, which is annoying because of the likelihood of letting mice in. 2) My son's birthday money seems to have disappeared from his room, one of the places windows were being replaced, when the workers were here. I can't prove this, of course, and I suppose it's theoretically possible he's misplaced it. But he swears up, down, and sideways it was here that morning and gone in the evening. I'm chalking it up to a good lesson for him about not leaving cash out in plain sight. But let this to be warning to others as well. UPDATE: Nick from Weathermaster called about the missing money. He's trying to track down what might have happened on their end, while on our end my son is continuing to search his room in case he put it in a 'safe place' and then forgot, as kids sometimes do with a birthday haul. I thought their concern was commendable.

The door was not ready until well past the 7/30/11 date and they did not call us. We had to call checking with them. 1st installation date was cancelled by them due to rain. 2nd installation date- they had measured wrong and we'd have to start all over again-- waiting 8 weeks. At this I wanted to cancel the contract; my husband wanted to work with them if possible. They did not offer any compensation for their poor work. I asked for it, but had to argue with the company president via a few emails. They wanted us to let them "fit" in the mis-measured door, but wanted us to have the cost of replacing a wall. It had become a disaster. It became a concern that we would not get the new door before snowy weather and cold weather, and they would make delays again due to weather. We were into 9/11 at this point, deciding not to take the offer they wanted to give us-- to let them "fit-in" then wrong sized door, and they would give us a storm door, since we would have the expense of replacing a wall and outside wood trim replacement. We waited weeks again for the correct size door. It was installed 10/25/11. We were told before the work, we'd get compensated by a discount of $300 rebate. We were given the news after they got the check the rebate was really only $100. Only one man did the installation so it took from all day- 8 hrs.. We have to replace white trim that was left looking very bad, that was removed by another worker at an earlier date, to see if they could have used the 1st mis-measured, but now looks cracked and chipped. I am only satisfied with the quality of the door and side lights, however that is due to the door-makers, not this company that installed them. I give this company an "F" for the quality of their work, workers and framing materials, and the customer service- which is non-existent. Dealing with them is a battle. For ex.: On the day it was discovered the door did not fit, the worker did not at least put in the window, which he had with him. He said he had to check the window and then just drove off. It WAS the right size, but he left. We had to call and argue we wanted the window installed since they have it, and cold was leaking in, but they wanted to do both the window and door at the same time- Not separately- With no regard for us, or wanting to give good service. I will not ever hire this company again, and do not recommend them.
Description of Work: Contract for one window and a front entry door with two sidelights was signed 6/11/11. An approx. starting and completion date given was 7/30/11, and initial measurements were done.

Update: Very shortly after writing my original post, Brian contacted me. He listened as I told him what happened and explained that he would be willing to do anything to make the situation right for me. He explained that changes were being made within the company and how the service department works. He came out the next day and personally measured my broken window. He discussed my options and gave me a formal estimate for the work I needed done. He was sure to check in with me before he left for vacation to make sure that he could place my order before traveling, if I chose to have WeatherMaster fix the window. I ultimately got my window fixed elsewhere, but this was due to cost not service. Brian was easy to work with and showed that customer service is a priority at Weather Master. Original Post: I am astonished with the level of unprofessionalism with this company - mainly in their service department. When I first called, I was unsure of my options to replace the glass and I was helped by a very friendly lady over the phone. She pulled the file and explained that I would need to speak with Kevin in the service department (who was on vacation for a week). I left him a message and was disappointed that the company did not have a back-up service technician. What would you do in an emergency? I waited a week once Kevin returned, for him to return my phone call. I even called again and spoke with another lady who said he must still be getting caught up since he had been away. Now we are approaching two weeks.... Kevin returned my phone call but I was unable to answer the phone. We played phone tag for about a week. Legitimately, Kevin did return my calls but was never available to answer the phone when I called back. I finally called and asked to speak with someone who could help me and again, a nice lady (I wish I had gotten their names) helped connect me to Kevin. Kevin was pleasant on the phone but I was disappointed that I would have to wait ANOTHER week for him to come and measure the broken window....one month to get the window measured and then I was going to have to wait for the glass to come and then make the appointment for the installation. Fast forward to measurement day. I had an appointment between 12 - 1. I called at 12:20 to ask if Kevin would call when he was on his way and I was told that he would only call if he was going to be late. I prefer companies that call 15 minutes or so ahead of time so that you aren't stuck waiting. I should note that this is a rental property so it isn't like I was just waiting in the comforts of home! At 1:10, there was no sign of Kevin and I had not received a phone call. I called Weathermaster and after being transferred to a couple of people, I was told that Kevin would call me back. Kevin called me back and made no attempt to apologize for being late and for not calling. Instead he told me that he was leaving Gaithersburg and on his way to my house. Now keep in mind that there is about an hour's travel time between Gaithersburg and my home in Towson. He should have called me much earlier to let me know he was going to be late. When I expressed this to him, he told me he DID try to call me but didn't have my number. Now that just ticked me off. It was his responsibilty to make sure he had my contact information with him. Our phone conversation went down hill from there. I will admit that I was less than professional with Kevin at this point. I wasted over an hour of my time for something that was taking way too long to begin with. Kevin was rude and passive aggressive on the phone. When I asked him if he was on his way, his response was and quot;you do know you have to pay a service fee today, right?and quot; When asked if he would give me a receipt his response was, and quot;well how are you paying?and quot; I said I would use a credit card and he told me he couldn't give me a receipt for a credit card payment. REALLY?! Ok, I told him, I would pay with a check. I asked if he could give me a receipt and he said, and quot;well isn't your check a receipt?and quot; Words cannot express how unprofessional he was. I asked him if he would call when he was close because I wasn't wasting anymore time waiting for him. He said he would and we got off the phone. When I told my husband about the conversation, he called Kevin and told him not to come as we didn't want to do business with him. His response was and quot;fine with meand quot;. That sums up the lackadaisical attitude Kevin had from start to finish. We will not do business with this company and I will be sure to let friends/family know of my horrible experience.
Description of Work: I called Weathermaster to fix a broken window pane in a window originally purchased from Weathermaster. I am not the original purchaser - the windows were in the home I purchased.

. I used WeatherMaster because one of my neighbors had recently used them and was satisfied with their work. In preparation for the installation, I boarded my pets and took a vacation day so that I would be available to provide access to my condo. On the installation day, the Technician arrived only to discover that the wrong color windows had been delivered (this was not the Technician's fault). I emailed the Corporate Office to express my displeasure of losing a vacation day and having to pay three boarding and examination fees. My message was forwarded to one of the Managers, however, it was the Salesperson who contacted me. There was no effort to rectify the situation by paying part of the boarding fees orproviding any other compensation.The window color should have been correct as it was exact color ordered by the neighbor who had recommended them. This is a condo development and all of the window colors are to be uniform. Additionally, there large divots left in the frames. My contractor had to spackle multiple times and there are still dings above one of the windows.

wonderful. Salesman helped me pick out just the right windows to fit the job I needed done. They knew I had a deadline and they got the windows before then, showed up punctually, answered all questions, worked efficiently, immediately fixed the one caulk spot they missed and cleaned up well. And here's an added bonus: they haven't called me since the service except one call to make sure all was okay. Very efficient, professional and economical. The one fly in the ointment: that their ad was misleading. It was only if you were replacing wood trimmed windows.

Overall, I was satifised with the experience and would use them again. I have recommended them to others in the neighborhood.
Description of Work: Replaced eight (8) windows and one (1) sliding door. Satisfied with the quality of the windows/door and installation. Was promised they would be installed within 6-8 weeks from date of order. I had to call them after twelve (12) weeks. They scheduled the installation within a week of me calling. The installers did not have the correct seams for the double windows and had to come back out; I ended up installing two (2) seams myself because it was inconvenient for me to take off of work again.

They took out all the windows and installed the new ones. They were okay. I had some problems and they came out four or five times and finally resolved it for me. They were pretty good. The vice president came out to see why they were not fixed right and they finally got them fixed right. Windows are funny and you never know how they are going to fit when they are installed in an old condominium. I had the best ones put in. They cleaned up all the mess and didn't leave me with any mess. The only thing that I wasn't satisfied with was that I was still getting air, but that was something they said they could control. They sent someone out and he didn't control it, so they sent the company that built the things and they didn't do it. Finally the vice president came out with the manager and they did it. I finally told them what was going on and I stuck tape on the places where the wind was coming in so they could see it. They provided good service when I was having trouble. The price was all right because they were the best windows you could get. I love my sliding door and not a peep of air comes through. They measure and sell the windows and another company actually makes them. The quality of service was good. When they said they would be here, they were here. They were very professional, but the company that built the windows was giving me a little trouble so I called the vice president.

I did look around and had about six or seven other bids. The one thing I liked about Weathermaster was that their frame was filled with insulation and the other ones weren't. I had a problem with two of the windows, they had scratches on them. I called them up and within probably, three days, they had two brand new windows in and replaced them. I've recommended them to other people.

They provided great customer service. Their prices were very good. The work and quality of windows were very good. They did what we asked for as well. We wanted something different on the outside of the windows and they were very accommodating. They cleaned up well after themselves when they were finished. About nine months after they did the work there was a part of the window that was broken. They came back out and fixed it for us and honored their warranty.

I was happy with the installation of most of the windows, however there was one replacement window that ended up being one inch too big. They had to come out four times to try and figure out how to fix it. The guy who came out and did all the measuring didn't measure that window correctly. It annoyed me as to why the first guy who originally installed it, didn't bring it to everyone's attention to it right away.

Took six weeks to do measurements not one week as promised. Eleven and a half weeks to install, not six to eight as promised. Went to wrong rental property first, greatly inconveniencing tenant who had arranged to take the morning off. Had trouble charging the balance even though told I could when the job was completed. I thought we had checked out the company well but would not use them again.

The work was performed 2 years ago, however since that time I've had to call them back twice to replace the weather stripping on my door and I have yet to receive a screen they owe me. In fact if I didn't call them about the missing screen they would have never let me know that the screen for my bathroom window had not been ordered.

One of the worse experiences I have ever had. The workers were messy and didn't clean up the debris from the job, resulting in a violation notice from the city. The windows were ordered multiple times because the company couldn't get the measurements right. Windows were put in crooked and workers argued about correcting them. Company representatives didn't return phone calls nor show up when promised. Once windows were installed, hardware began rusting right away, resulting in a letter to company to fix, which they also argued about. Completely unprofessional, could care less attitude about the customer or quality of the work. Overall, this job took 8 months to complete, not counting the fact they need to come back once again and replace rusted hardware.
Description of Work: Replace all existing windows in the house with low e argon windows. Replace windows in basement with glass block.

Weeks went by and I didn't hear anything after the serviceman came by. Many phone calls later, they finally returned my call with ''the window is not covered under warranty in a rental, and it'll be $500.'' Very poor communication resulting in an extremely frustrated customer. If they had been upfront and honest in the beginning, they would be getting a good review. Although, our experience with these windows is that they are not of good quality at all, this particular window fell apart beyond repair.
Description of Work: The agreement was for a serviceman to repair or replace a broken window in a rental property under warranty for a minor labor charge. We ended up ordering a new window and will pick up and install it ourselves.

The rep (Sean) called before the appointment to try to change the time. When I called him back, he said resentfully that it was too late for him to come earlier so he would keep the already scheduled time. When he came and looked at the windows, he said that I already had replacement windows and that only 3 windows needed replacing. He said that they don't do storm doors, although the ad is for doors as well as windows. He told me that he had ''wasted'' his time and that he can't stand it when people waste his time. He then told me I was ''very rude'' to have wasted his time. I would never want to work with him on an estimate again.
Description of Work: I requested a free estimate, as advertised. I did not know how many windows needed replacing but I also needed a storm door. The ad is for windows and doors. I didn't get either windows or doors, as the representative said the minimum is 5 windows. The rep was extremely rude.
