+ -1 moreInstallation was flawless and the service has been reliable. I recently upgraded to 50/15 Internet service and received more credits beginning on next month's bill. That should bring my average bill down about $0.80 over the remainder of my contract. I found this by going on their website and looking at the current offers. You are able to call them and bargain for a better price, especially if you tell them what their competitors are offering. That reduced my bill $10/mo. Also, I am just interested in phone and Internet and discovered that adding local TV service to lowered my bill a few dollars. Just insist that you not get a converter box (you don't need one for that package, you can plug your cable directly into your TV and you recieve all of your local channels, WGN, The Weather Channel and a whole slew of local government channels (I live in Harford County and get public access channels from Baltimore County, CCBC, and even Loudon County, VA).
Description of Work: Here is what is on my current monthly bill: $30 (Digital Voice Unlimited Long Distance) + $12.99 (FiOS Local TV Service) + $47 (FiOS Internet 15/5) - $15 (Credits for a 2 year contract) + $4.19 (Governmental fees & taxes) = $74.99

+ 2 moreI live in a very poor area for cell phone reception. The internet is pretty fast. I switched from Fios to Verizon and it took them a month to complete the switch. I filed complaints with the FCC, Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau and the State's Attorney in Maryland. They sent about 10 techs who told me there was something wrong with my wiring. I was getting someone else's calls so we literally flagged one of their trucks down and demanded they fix my problem. It was absolutely terrible and there was no excuse for that to happen. They were finally able to fix the problem. Their price does not justify the trouble. Some of their people were professional.

+ -1 moreWhen I dropped Verizon's totally misrepresented and inadequate service Verizon then demanded $124 as a cancellation fee.
Description of Work: Failed to provide the internet speeds promised and paid for (insufficient even to sustain Netflix) failed to provide uninterrupted service, dropping me several times daily for over a month, then dropping me 24 times in a single 24 hour period. For this they offered a $5 refund.

+ -1 moreI am using Verizon for my international calls. I have unlimited minutes and unlimited text messages. I have never had a problem. I get my text messages right away and I have mobile within the US and unlimited international calls which do cost more. I also have a calling card. I do not have any trouble making a call and I do not have dropped calls. I will continue to use them.

+ 0 moreI don't use the phone very much. I don't have call waiting or caller ID on it. The only reason I'm using the landline is because I've had the number so long and I don't want to transfer it to a cellphone. Verizon Fios is a pretty high internet feed. It is a combination of hardwired and wireless through a router, and the speed is good. If the internet goes down in the whole area - and that has only happened maybe 2 times in the last 2 or 3 years - then I lose connection, but only then. I think those were storm related. Their service is very good for responding. I call them so rarely that usually when I do call them, they say "You don't call much!" I think that everyone charges too much for the Internet. The helpdesk has always been professional and knowledgeable about anything that I've ever phoned about, so I'm happy with that. Quality and reliability I was surprised at: we have a lot of devices that stay online with no variation in speed so it has been a very good service for that. They only had to come out once and that was for the install. The guy that came out to do that was very professional. He made sure that all my devices were working when he got out here. I was able to follow his instructions to get the network up and running.

+ 0 moreVerizon provides our landline and I hate them. They also provide my internet service. When it rains - the water table here is very high and they don't have their cables planted very deep - they are a pain in the you-know-what. They are still the most reliable and the most safe. If I was using satellite for the internet, when it gets really crowded the service is not so good. I do 70% of my teaching online so I need a reliable service. I do not think they are the best, but they are the most reliable I can get in this area. I think they are way too expensive.
Description of Work: Verizon provide my landline and internet services. We almost never use the landline. The internet charge is between $30 and $35 a month.

+ 0 moreThis is the minimum service from Verizon, which is why the price is low. The connection is pretty fast with a DSL link. I have caller ID and call waiting: they upgraded it so you don't have any choice any more. The customer service has been good.

+ -1 moreIt did not. First, they had to postpone the service call for a week because of an issue with the line. A few days before the service was supposed to occur, I spoke with them, only to learn that they thought there was a second active line in my house. There was not. Once this was settled, I thought that the service call would occur. When they did not show on the day of service, I finally called to learn that someone (not me) had canceled the call. While I think that Verizon has superior service once it's hooked up, I am looking for other alternatives for my internet and phone.
Description of Work: I was supposed to switch my internet and phone service back to Verizon.

We have their FIOS for TV. We have not had a problem since we have had them. I had a problem one time and the operators worked with me over the phone to get it fixed. They have been satisfactory. Their prices are competitive.

+ 2 moreI have all my services bundled so everything is connected into one bill. It is pretty easy to use and I can access my messages from anywhere just by calling my number; I like that. Their prices may be on the higher end but I have nothing to compare them with. Their service is always on and is rarely out, especially their internet service; I have not had to call them for service at all. When I talked to them on the phone to try to figure out what to get they were really great.

+ 1 moreWe've used them for about 4 years. We had switched from another provider because the price was getting so outrageous and they gave us a cheap price. Now their price is probably right up there with the other provider now so we are disappointed in them. As far as the quality goes with the television and everything, it is good. We've had some down time with power outages and stuff. They always put in a special for 2 years. I called and they said they can't do that unless we cancel and sign up again. We are looking at other options.

Description of Work: Verizon is awful. dont go to them. They have a monopoly on the telephone industry and that is why they are fine with horrible customer service. All their customer service front line people are indian, and it takes about an hour to fix anything. I had problems with my phone or internet connectivity every 2 months! The last three days I have had two appointments to have someone come to fix my internet. Both times they said it was fixed and it wasnt. Today (the third day of being on the phone with them all day) they said that to fix my internet they would have to disconect my phone line. And if I wanted to have a phone that works, I would need to either a) switch to verizion fios for an additional $20 a month, or b) get a phone that has a cord and get rid of my wireless phone (that has worked for the last three years just fine with my internet. I am so fed up with them. I canceled with them today. Sometimes after spending an hour of the phone with them to set up someone to come out to fix your phone or internet, you will get a text message like 10 minutes after you get off the phone with them, saying that the problem has been fixed and the tec is no longer coming. Then you check your phone/internet, and it still doesnt work. I KID YOU NOT!

+ 0 moreI haven't been that satisfied with their service and I think they are over priced. I am not happy with them on the price. They had installed a files system in my neighborhood which was very fast internet service and so far that has been satisfactory. I am buying too many packages which I don't need and I will drop those so that I can save some money there. I have got several interesting offers from others which are cheaper so I may go to them. I probably would not recommend them for the cable service.
