US Carpet Market

Description of Work: We went there looking for carpeting and tile for our kitchen floor. David Orban gave us an estimate, we asked if he had financing and he said yes. His quote was cheaper than another quote we had so we decided to go with him. He started to fill out the paperwork and said he needed 50% down to get the carpet and tile ordered. We gave him a credit card for the 50% down, and after he ran my card we started discussing the financing of the balance. He then stated he did not have financing avaliable, which left us in shock because we did not want to spend all of our cash on this project. So we left and were upset and discussed that night what to do. The next morning I called and left him a voice mail asking him not to order anything until we talk to him. We went in later that day and told him we decided we didn't want to do business with him, because he lied about the financing. He said he actually "forgot" that he didn't have financing. We told him we still do not want to do business with you, and he got Irate and said "You signed a contract", "I have lawyers", and "I will NOT give your money back"!! What I actually signed was a order form for the carpeting and tile, not a contract!! He refused to refund the deposit on my credit card, which was $2000.00. We had to go to our bank and explain this to them and file a claim as David refused to do the correct thing. The bank worked it out and I got my money back. The next day we had a co-worker call David to ask if they have financing avaliable, and we put him on speakerphone. When we asked "do you have financing avaliable"? David said "yes". We asked who is your financing through? He said Wells Fargo. This was a complete lie, and when we called him on it later, he said again that he "forgot", he had a bunch of people in the store when we called.

Description of Work: We used US Carpet Market for our flooring. They laid bamboo floors in our bedroom and stained ash on our stairs, hall and one large bedroom and walk-in closet.
