TruGreen Lawn Care - 5820

My experience with them was good. There used to be a whole lot of weeds and those have died. I am going to get them to reseed it this year. They are pretty good. I have never had issues with their service.

I have used them for 20 years. They are extremely service, and they will come anytime if you have a problem and take care of it, if I am at home, they always knock on the door, and explain what they are going to do, and what they are treating that particular day. I pay yearly.

The company called the day before to say they would be coming. The Tru Green man came in the morning as promised. After he finished spraying the trees and shrubs he came to the door to discuss the ice damage that had occurred to some of our trees over the winter. He told us which ones would recover and the ones that would not. I pretty much knew this already but it was good to have a professional opinion. He also gave me a printout of the chemicals he had used and at what rate, etc.

This is our first year with Trugreen and I am satisfied with their work. I pay monthly and they usually come out once a month. The aeration was an extra $260.00 for a one time service.

The day before they did the application the lawn was green. After the application of the chemicals the lawn was green, but with a film. There were areas of the lawn that normally get a lot of rain. Those areas always grow the best but that spot even has brown spots. That really surprises me. It had a strip, almost like they had put too many chemicals in the applications. It almost feels like I'm an afterthought. They are not giving me good customer service. I want my money back on my second application. I just want to find someone to come in, look at what they have done, and replace it.

The field mgr. who came out for an initial consultation was prompt, professional and very pleasant to talk to. Normally we don't sign up for services until a day or so after talking with a co. but he was extremely informative and provided extra advice for lawn care. He promised he'd try to have someone start the first treatment in a few days, which he did. The tech who came out to do the first treatment seemed to work very quickly and I questioned whether he did a thorough saturation of the treatment. He pleasantly replied that he did and that the weeds would start to die and eventually disappear within a couple of weeks. He was right! He obviously did a thorough job because my lawn now looks like it has more grass than weeds. The green color has come back also. Unfortunately, there are bald patches where the weeds were, which the tech explained would happen. I am looking forward to having them do the next treatment soon and also do the aeration and seeding to fill my grass back out in those patches. The downside of this company is that the number you call connects you with someone out of state and they take the messages. I would like to continue to use them and see how it this service goes long term. So far, my grass looks a lot better with just one treatment.

My lawn is among the best in the neighborhood

Each time the service man came out (sometimes I was home for this, sometimes I wasn't and he left a detailed note on the door), they were very friendly and personable. HOWEVER... our yard looks just as bad, if not WORSE than when we started the treatments! Our yard is FULL of weeds and dead spots. We even followed the directions they gave us, watering at the right times of day and watering frequently. I called to complain and request another service appointment, and the gentleman that came out to our house actually said to me "oh, that's just a different type of grass", when I pointed to the very obvious crabgrass and weeds taking over our yard. Seriously?? I don't know what they did during each service visit, but our yard looks horrible.

I have used Trugreen fro 8 years, the first few years they were very reponsive and did an excellent job. The last two years have gone down hill. THe price has increased while the lawn has decreased. At this point I have a lwan full of weeds and all my efforts to contact them have failed. I would not recomend using them and I have canceled service, I'm gonna try somone on Angies list with good reviews.

I needed treatment for my lawn and called up Tru Green in March 2012. A salesman named RON JACKSON of the Rutherford Rd office (410-298-1700) called me back and proceeded to sell me services. He was extremely friendly and responsive (that will alll change soon enough). He bestowed the value of TruGreen and how he was going to build a VERY close relationship with me, and that he will be there for me whenever I needed. He talked and talked about the wonderful bond he has with his customers. So I decided to purchase service. On my third service appointment, TruGreen never showed up, never called, and never followed up. What proceeded next for me was a NIGHTMARE !!! I called and called for weeks to have RON contact me to explain why my service was missed. He NEVER called me back, I left 5 messages with their "call center". I eventually asked for ANY manager to call me back, and even asked for the general manager (BRIAN MCCABE). Guess what, STILL no call !! They STILL have no even bothered to follow up and reschedule the missed appointment. Once they get your money, they don't care about you. PLEASE DO NOT USE TRU GREEN. TRUST ME. YOU WILL BE SORRY. I plan to terminate my contract with them and use someone else.

They are very responsive. and I have the same technician that comes out to us all the time. I like that they call you when they are coming out and they are always here when they say they will be. I never have any problems and they leave me a report of the condition of the lawn and trees. It really works. If I detect fresh growth of weeds in my lawn I can call them and they are right out and I am not charged extra for that. Their prices I am certain are very competitive.

I got them for weed control to start with and have used them for insect control as well as fertilizing the lawn. The yard looks great no weeds and its very green. I still have some bare spots but thats due to lack of seeding the lawn regularly (My fault not there's). They are a bit expensive but I have over and acre of yard and the price is fair.

Honesty they did not provide the service they were going to provide. We got them because we had just finished leveling out our yard and putting a deck on. We were having difficulties in grass growing under the tree. I called them to help us to get grass to grow under the tree and thicken it up and everything. We used them for two seasons and have had no good results.

They are overpriced and did not perform. My advice is not to use them. What they did had no effect on my yard other than less money in my bank account. They were professional but their treatments did not work. I will not use them again in the future.

OVERALL THIS DID GO WELL AT ALL. THEIR SALEPERSONS WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET A CONTRACT KNOWING FULL WELL THEY WILL LIVE UP TO IT. ALSO TREAT TO SUE IF YOU DO NOT PAY FOR SORRY AND UNPROFESSOIONA; WORK. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.

My husband and I needed grass to grow in our front yard under and oak tree, we also had various bald spots throught our yard. My husband is on disability and is unable to do yardwork, so we went with this company. The representative came out and gave a reasonable price for seeding and a year of treatments. My husband stressed he wanted grass to grow in the front under the tree. We received a card telling us when to expect the "specialist" that would apply the treatments. We did appreciate that since we own a small dog and have two young grandsons. The first application date gave a three day "window" and he/she did show up between those days. That was the only time they ever showed up on the scheduled date. All the other dates are just one date, which they never showed up on. They could be as much as a week late. We never received a courtesy call. The major problem was when they did not show up to aerate and put down the seed. At the time it was spring, the perfect time with showers and moisture. They did finally show up and just threw seed . Nothing else. No straw over it, no mulch, nada. My husband watered daily, the rain had stopped or slowed up quite a bit by then. We waited the 7-10 days and nothing. My husband called the company, the woman who answered said she would have a manager call him. He never did. We did however, get every sales call from this company selling every treatment or service they could possibly have (and a few I don't think they even do.) My husband called again and again, he was even told that the specialist was out at the house that very day. The woman said she had him on the radio and he said he left his paper on the front door, he had applied seed again. I looked, no paper and no seed, trust me, you can spot seed when your in your 50's. How stupid did this guy think we were?! It was at this point I said to my husband to have this specialist check the address, because he wasn't here. My husband was home all day with our dog Abby, trust me, Abby would have told him if something moved in her yard. My husband was livid. He wanted the owner to call. He finally did. It had only taken many phone calls, lies from specialists, hounding from sales people, and lies from the sales staff. One minute they said the sold top soil and applied it and one minute they said they didn't. It wound out with James Bolling, General Manager and Mike (Area Supervisor) being very helpful and nice and fixing the situation. Mike came out with bags of top soil. (I didn't have the interest at this point to ask if he bought it or if they actually had it, I think he bought it.) He put down seed again, top soil and pellets to keep it moist, and straw where he ran out. Unfortunately, by this point it was the end of June and we were in a drought. My waterbill is not figured in to the bottom line figure. Grass is finally growing under the oak tree. They didn't seem to care about any of my other spots in the yard. We have two more treatments to go, one in July and lime in mid-October. I'm already typing the cancellation letter to the company when I get done here. Pick another company.

I called the 800 number and they quoted me $29 for the first application and said the price would increase every month and a half. I spoke with them to work the pricing down and was transferred to the financial department that told me they wouldn't be able to honor the deal the salesman gave me and they would look at it and call me back. They never called back, so I called them back the next day. I reached a different office in another state and had to start all over because they didn't save my information. Again, I worked out a deal with a gentleman for all applications to cost $29.00. Again, I was sent to the financial department and they said they wouldn't be able to honor that pricing. I called a local office and told them the story all over again and provided the name, extension, and location of the gentleman that gave me the deal and they refused to try contacting him to get that cleared. They were very rude to me and I told them I didn't want their services.

They trimmed the trees and shrubs and fertilized for pest control. They are good. Everything is fine.

The guy this year is pretty energetic about taking care of the lawn. They usually knock and let me know what they're going to do. If I need them to come back they do come back out and don't charge you.

I've used their services since 2010. The service technicians are GREAT! Everytime they came out they left suggestions on what they thought would enhance my lawn's care and appearance. Anytime a spot of crab grass popped up they re-treated quickly and without additional expense. The reason I rated the professionalism as a "C" is because of their phone customer service. I had the opportunity to call the office a few times and it seemed everytime I called, the operator was engaged in hysterical laughter. Once to the point where I had to wait for them to respond to me. After a couple of harsh winters and a summer drought, I called to cancel all services for 2011, until I can have my lawn completely renovated. Apparently, customer service did NOT make note of my call and the service technician showed up in February to treat my lawn. I think their customer service could use some improvement.

Was a customer for several years, but in 2010 the quality of service deteriorated. Weeds sprung up around the perimeter of lawn. I witnessed the technician talking on his cell phone several times when he was treating the lawn instead of paying attention to what he was doing. I raised my concerns in an online customer questionaire and then on the telephone when I got no response. I was called by the technician, who offerred to re-treat the lawn but I declined; instead, I asked him simply to be more attentive to the weeds on future visits. Nothing changed. The weeds thrived so I cancelled the service.

Mr grass has been beautiful all summer in spite of the draught. Of couse, I watered, but not a great extent.I love the view from my windows.

It has not gone well. I cannot tell whether anything was ever done. I have no notification that the aeration was done last fall, and it is clear that I have had only two treatments so far this year. One tech told me they were behind because of winter's heavy snow, but this is ridiculous to have them spray my neighbor's lawn, to not hear from a responsible official to learn what amends they plan to make, etc. Again, I have paid for a full year of service....this is bait-and-swtich.

I used TruGreen Chemlawn in 2008 and had them do a lawn fertilization about once a month during this period. I also had them aerate and overseed the lawn in October. The company then did one more fertilizer treatment after this in early November; the driver's comments on the November ticket indicated that I should aerate the lawn and then have TruGreen Chemlawn perform the services listed in the attached brochures; their were about a dozen brochures on many topics including aeration, grub treatment, liming, and weed control plus some duplicates in the stack. It was obvious that the driver had never looked at the past history of treatments on the property and had not carefully looked at the brochures he/she was distributing. I had planned on canceling the service after this, but did not get around to it until after the first treatment of 2009 which occurred in late February when the ground was barren and quite muddy. I called and thanked them for their services and expressed my disappoint in their work and asked to stop their service. I then received a phone call from one of their representatives in the April time frame asking whether I would come back; I repeated my desire not to utilize their services based upon my past history with their sales and service personnel not understanding their product and my property history and also with their lack of communication when they planned to show up; they said they would be happy to give me a free treatment and to put me on a rotation where I determined when to apply their products; needless to say, I declined their services and asked that I be removed from their calling list. Well, they failed to honor the latter, as I kept seeing their number show up on my caller id; one night in July I decided to take the call to get them to stop calling me. That night, a manager from Trugreen Chemlawn was calling to get feedback about their services and why I no longer used them as my lawn service. I repeated to her the problems with their sales and service personnel and also that they show up without warning. After hearing my response, she then started to lecture me on how their staff knows best. I interrupted her and asked her not to call my residence again; I hope I never do business with them again.

They are always pushing for different applications, but they do work with you to set up the right program for your lawn. I have used them for about 2 years now. They did offer me a senior discount.
