The services are very well, I have had them for years. They are very consistent with the person that does the application. So for several years the same person does the application so that helps. They are reliable, they come when they say they are going to come. You can trust the staff is consistent He has been coming a long time he knows I have a dog. They evaluate your lawn and tell you how to maintain it in between visits. I am satisfied with my lawn if I see some weeds they will come back and reapply.

As you may know TruGreen bought Scotts. I had Scotts for many years. Descent results at a good price. TruGreen has been awful since the change. The first service was 3 weeks later than last year. It is 6 weeks past last years second service and I still haven't received it. I have called 3 times and the customer service is unknowledgeable lip service. I always hung up frustrated. I just cancelled and am paying quite a bit more for a local company. There is a night and day difference in the customer service reps between the 2 companies. I would steer clear from picking TruGreen.

I have used TruGree/Scotts for 7-8 years. The lawn did improve and I was satisfied. If I had questions, I could usually get a rep immediately. That has changed. There is no customer service. I've tried calling and get in queue and they promise a call back. That hasn't happened 3 times. I then emailed customer service starting April 4th. I got 3 service ticket numbers 166450, 1671649, 1676463 between 4/4/17 and 4/18/17. All promised follow up contact. No one contacted me via email or phone. I was trying to find out why my bill had gone up. After 11 days with no contact i've decided to cancel the service for zero response. I can't cancel because I still cannot contact anyone even going through the sales number for new customers. Operating as SCotts this was a good serviced. Operating as TruGreen, there is no service. Deplorable. This is a follow on comment for the prior review. Since I could not get a response from anyone, I found an email address for Corporate Media Spokesperson on the website. I restated my complaint and asked her to forward to someone responsible for customer service. I told her that I had posted this review on Angies and Pissed Consumer. I got a call from corporate customer service apologizing for the problem. She asked if there was any way to keep me as a customer. Told her no. I told her that I had no confidence that problem was solved and that I didn't want to encounter the same problem nextime. Cancelled MD and GA service.

They always call before they come out, so I know not what they are going to do necessarily but when they are going to do it. They actually send people out when I have an issue, like my backyard grass wasn't doing well over the winter, so they scheduled the time and the guy came out and surveyed the yard and we discussed what the issue was and he told me what he thought the problem was and what we could try to do to try to mitigate it.

They adhere to my one request of me wanting to know when someone is going to come out and be on my property. They always send me a email and leave me a message on my home phone that they are coming out the next day. Weather I am home or not, I know when they will be here. They do a great job. We sign up for a yearly package. We add on additional items throughout the year such as pest control.

I have no problems with them. I have been with them for two years now. I like that they send text messages to let me know when they are going to be around, that is important to me because I tend to cut my grass every weekend. So if they will not come on a Saturday I have to be prepared to cut the grass. It?s nice to know ahead of time when they are coming. I checked around for prices and they are the most competitive that I can find.

I contracted with Scotts to apply seed, fertilizer and weed and pest control as needed to assure a green and healthy lawn. After one year under their care the lawn looked worse than it ever has in the twelve years I've lived here. Furthermore, when I called to discontinue my service (Scott's website has no place to click to discontinue service.) I was told they were terminating service, but they then failed to do so. I discovered this failure sometime later when a Scotts technician showed up at my house indicating that he was about to apply fertilizer. I told him I had stopped my relationship with Scott s, and he went away. Then a few days later I returned home from a trip to find a notice from Scotts (and a bill) on my doorknob, indicating they had applied large quantities of fertilizer and pesticide to my lawn. I was astounded. Meanwhile, my new lawn care provider had applied fertilizer and weed control of its own, properly, on my request. So now, thanks to Scott's negligence, my lawn has been saturated in pesticide and fertilizer which may do serious damage. When I called Scotts today to complain the woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude and when I complained (civilly by firmly) she just hung up the phone, rather than apologize or make things right. My experience, in short, is that Scotts is a nightmare to deal with. They don't take care of your lawn properly, and when you try to discontinue service, you find that you cannot! You are besieged with unwanted calls and visited by unwanted service technicians, and then billed for services you specifically rejected. Finally, just today, after complaining by email directly, and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, I got a note from Scotts indicating they had discontinued my service. At this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

I started the service in the Spring of 2013. They came out and did a survey, and gave me a plan for the year. I had several large bare spots, one in the front yard, and was told they would not put down grass seed until the beginning of Sept. I wanted them to put seed down in the Spring, but they put the pre-emergent (crab grass preventer) down and then could not seed. The service thru the summer was good, the existing grass was green and full, and the weeds were gone. I called to make sure they would come and seed, and they came around 7 September. When I got home from work, I was not happy, they did not put the seed down in a uniform mannter. Some was OK, but there were large bare spots, and other spots where the seed was as thick as a door mat. Just dumped like out of a bag, and was so thick you could not see dirt. I called and was told I had to wait two weeks to give the seed a chance to sprout. I told the person on the phone that there were big bare spots, and asked, so what was going to sprout? He kept arguing with me telling me I had to wait. I then went outside and picked up seed where it was thick, and seeded the bare spots. I watered like they instructed, and seed came up, but it was too thick in some places, and bare in others. When it started to sprout, I could see there were bare spots, and called again. The person (THE MANAGER) was not agreeable, and argued about it. I told the Manager that the seeding was not uniform, and there were bare spots and over seeded spots. He still kept trying to defend the seeding. I finally got him to send someone back out to re-seed. I asked for them to send someone with experience since the last time was so bad. I took them over two weeks to come back, and that was after I called again. The second seeding was the same as the first. It looked like a child seeded, too much in some places, NONE in the same places as the first time. I called again, and got the same Manager, Mike. He again started arguing about wailting for the seed, etc. By this time it was October, and I questioned whether the seed had time to sprout, and get established before the cold weather came. I was told it was OK and that he, Mike, the Manager, was going to personnally come out and look and re-seed. I asked him to call so I would be available. He came at 8:00 AM on Saturday, and put down seed and left. I did not get a call, and he said he knocked on the door. I told him to call so I would be listening, and he didn't. I went out and saw that he was there, and looked around the lawn. He still did not do a satisfactory job. There was a spot, by my A/C that never got seeded. He threw down seed, but it was sparse, and on bare ground. I called again, and got an argument, but no apology, just a you-got-want-you-got attitude. At that point i told them to cance my account. They cancelled the balance I owed, and sent a check. The total was approx. $180. He acted like that was some big deal, and I should be grateful. I told him that I spent over $500, not including the refund, and about an additional $150-200 on water thru the season. I got a call from a District or higher manager about January and he apoligized about my problems and said they would make it right if I re-signed up. I asked him if that meant they would get the lawn right first, and then start charging me again, and he said no, and acted like I was being unreasonalbe. Of course I had to start paying. I said no thanks, that they owed me a lawn first. When I pointed out to him, like I did with Mike, that there were areas along my sidewalk and driveway where the grass was sporatic, he made excuses. I told him the Scott's website promises a beautiful lawn with no worries, and brags about their great service and happy customers, one of which I am not. I got NOTHINHG. JUST HAVE A NICE LIFE. I want to say that I have always used Scott's products when I did my own lawn. Also, the guy that came out and put the products down was a friendly guy, and did a good job,as I said in the beginning. Thier products are great. However, the untrained people they had seeding my lawn were terrible. My 7 year old grand daughter could have done a better job. Who dumps seed so thick you can't see dirt? And, I am talking about 6-8 sq. ft. of this. Also, two times they missed the area by the A/C, even after I specifically said they missed that area. That area is 6x15 feet. I am not a customer anymore, and would not recommend them. If you think this is an isolated case, check complaintboard.com and the BBB. I wish I went there first.

I think they are excellent. They keep our lawn looking beautiful. They let you know when they're coming, they come when they said they'll come and after they spray something that might be harmful to pets, they put this little sign. It cost under $300 and it's for four treatments.

They are pretty good. It is not a grass cutting service. They come right back if there are any problems at no charge. I ask them to knock on the door. Most times they would come, spray and leave. They are real good about knocking on the door and let me know that they are there. So I can watch what they do. I also like that when they are coming, they do call me every time.

I am very unahppy with their service. I've had 2 barespots on my lawn that have been there since the spring. They said they would give me a bag of seeds (they wouldn't even seed it themselves) but never got it to me. They still have not taken care of the problem and the most recent visit they came out after 4 days of pouring rain and put lime (or some treatment) down at that time. I'm switching to a new lawn care company.

Scott's has performed every service possible on our grass. If a treatment doesn't work, you can call and they will come out to retreat. We have weeds, and I don't have a green thumb so we hired Scott's. We used them for over two years, since Scott's will tell you that you need to stick with the program for 1-2 years to obtain maximum results. We did just that and our grass is still full of weeds. They will treat after a treatment, but will tell you that weeds and crabgrass are a result of "heat" or some other element... My biggest complaint is in their ethical practices. We were not happy with the services we received, however we figured we would stick it out for 2 years and hope for the best. At the end of our 2 1/2 years we were done. Scott's called to schedule an aeration, and I told the man on the phone we were going to pass on this service, as we were going to cancel after our last grass treatment was done in September. Two weeks later, a tech shows up for our aeration, I tell him we will be passing on this service, just as I mentioned to the man on the phone. He understood and left. Two weeks later, another tech comes out to perform the service, this time, I was not home and the service was performed. How many times should I have called Scott's to tell them "no" aerating? And if I don't want a service who do I have to speak with to ensure a service I cancelled twice is not performed? It took multiple calls to handle issues, in fact a separate issue I had about billing was never responded to a few years back . While associates on the phone are friendly, many just aren't thorough.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. Stay away from this company. What a scam. Came home to find a $300 bill on my door for aeration and seeding that I did not authorize. I called to complain and was told that since it was done last year, it gets done every year unless I cancel it. NO CONTRACT, NO AUTHORIZATION, NO AGREEMENT. Called and got nothing but claims that is how they've always done business. Unwilling to address. Never pay full price, every service is negotiated down after it is refused the first time.
