Spiros Painting

This was the second time we used Spiros Painting. On both occasions they estimated the job quickly, were fair priced and very punctual with all interactions. Their work is clean, careful and high quality.

Spiro and Dionysius had previously power washed the exterior of my home prior to painting. Because they did an excellent job I asked them to also wash the bluestone. I had been reluctant to wash this area because bluestone is soft and can be easily damaged. I was delighted at the care they took. The area looks great.

Fantastic. Responded immediately. Scheduled and completed job the same day. Looks fantastic. Super nice and very professional.

The contractor was very responsive in providing a quote three months before I finally called him back for the work. He did come out a second time to look at some additional work. His price quoted was originally $750 and went up to $850 with the additional work. I went out of town and had a friend let them in and out. The contractor was very professional and the work was excellent quality. Unfortunately the quote was off by $250. I may not have chosen to use him if I and known.

I found him on Angie's List. I was happy with them. They did a very good job, they were timely, they paid attention to what I asked them to do, and the price was good. They had to change the date of the original plan because the father took ill, but they were very communicative about it, so I was fine. They were very professional, the father and son had clearly been in business a long while.

They were friendly, responsive, and helpful. Dionysios booked an estimate for us on less than a day's notice, during a very brief window that we provided. While we've decided not to paint at the moment (largely due to logistics/timing of moving into our new house), their quote seemed very reasonable and I would definitely feel comfortable working with them. I would definitely recommend considering them! I can't speak to the quality but they showed me pictures and talked about their process and it seemed good to me.

I highly recommend Dionysius and his father. They were prompt, gave me the best price of the three estimates I got, had good suggestions about the kind of paint to use, and the end result looked great. I will be using them for any future painting projects.

The team arrived each day on time and was very professional. What set them apart was their attention to detail and the fact that they cleaned up after themselves. I would also note that they took their time - I have hired other folks to do things around the home and they always seemed in a rush to get things done. Spiros painting seemed to understand that if you take a little more time to do things right the first time you get a better result and have a happier customer. Dionysios and his father (Spiros) work great as a team and are very experienced and professional. They used the highest quality paint on the market, prepped the painting surfaces appropriately and used the appropriate paint for various surfaces. They also rebuilt several of my window sills that had significant wear and plugged gaps to create a better seal around the window.

Stop looking and hire Spiros and his son to do whatever painting job you have. There's a reason every Angie's List review is overwhelming positive. My experience confirmed everything I'd read. They provided a very good quote and gave me a blanked assurance -- in writing -- that I would be satisfied. They did more than they promised and I was totally satisfied. It's hard to let go of the deeply engrained skepticism and low expectation that we rely on to not feel naive but not long after they had started I was certain the integrity or their work and their word was very important to them. They solved every little issue as you hoped all service companies would -- with thoughtfulness, concern and skill. Beyond the work, Spiros is smart, pleasant, personable and a real character in the best sense. As I said, stop looking and hire them.

The Spiro's family did a great job at a great price! I can't say enough positive things about the work that was done - they were prompt, thorough and very detail oriented. The thoroughly cleaned the work site every day and ensured that we were satisfied with everything they did. We highly recommend them for any painting work that you need done!

I am completed satisfied with Spiros Painting. I am thrilled with how the house now looks and am impressed with the quality of their work. Also dealing with Spiros and his son Dionynios was a delight. They paid attention to the details and consulted with me regularly to make sure that I was happy with how everything was going. They were focused on making sure that the job came out how I wanted it. The job took six days and they used a mechanical lift to reach the higher floors. They worked full days. Spiros worked the entire time and was assisted by his son Dionysios or another assistant most of that time. They cleaned up at the end of each day. Several of my neighbors have complemented me on the work, and I fully expect that some of them will be using Spiros Painting in the future. I have recommended them to several people in the neighborhood. Given the time the job took, it was nice to see that they made an effort to get along with my neighbors. One of my neighbors has a baby and asked that they not operate the lift late in the day and they complied. Another neighbor had a basement window which was peeling and they painted it for free. I guess the highest compliment is that I am going to use them again. Next summer I am planning to use them to paint/stain my decks.

Spiros Kranis and his son Dionysios were a delight to work with. They were prompt, reliable, and very thorough. They did an excellent job preparing and painting our historic home. I will most certainly hire them again for any future painting jobs.

Spiro and Dionysios did a great job painting the exterior of my home. Spiro came out right after I called and walked around the home with me to get the scope of work and address any concerns I had. I had 5 different surfaces and 4 different paints and most of the home had not been painted in over 20 years. I called four companies to get pricing on painting the exterior of my home. After getting estimates from most of them I decided to go with Spiro's. Not because they were the lowest price (close and very fair) but because they were very responsive, seemed to be very proud and knowledgeable about their trade and there were no gray areas in their proposal (ie: time and material for certain "unknowns"). They showed up the Friday before Memorial Day weekend and started the prep. They spent all day doing their prep. This was pretty extensive and very much needed. I went way for the weekend and came home Tuesday to a beautiful new paint job. They repaired some spots that had rotting wood , filled numerous areas that need caulking and special attention. The painting on all surfaces was very professional and they matched the existing colors perfectly. They were very neat and cleaned up as if you never would have known they were there and the final price was exactly what was quoted with no extras. They will definatley be my first call for my next painting project.

It went great! There was constant communication about what we wanted, when the job would get done and the negotiation on the cost.

They were excellent. I can't say enough good things about them. They arrived on schedule, did the work, and cleaned up. They are hard working, professional and also just plain nice to deal with.

Spiros arrived on Friday at 8:30 am (as promised) and worked all day. He returned on Saturday at 8:00 am (again as promised) and finished the rest of the house. Painting, sills, floor trim and all other areas were in great condition when he was finished. He also brought some yummy Greek Cuisine for lunch, which was a very nice surprise! I would highly recommend Spiros and his team based on the quality of their work as well as their friendliness and cordiality.

We were very please with Spiros! They prepped and painted the top of our metal deck. Both Father and Son worked very hard and did a great job. We will certainly use them again in the future.

They did a very good job. They also bring you lunch, which is kind of nice.

My experience with Spiros started normal and friendly. He showed up the same day I called to do a quote. I explained we were on a budget and needed to get this small job done as soon as possible, which he understood. He gave a good price and I said I would call him later after another company came by to do a quote and this where it all went downhill. I called him back later that evening and confirmed we would like to use him but slightly changed the scope of work over the phone, which we agreed to and agreed to a new - higher - price. The next morning, he showed up mad as h*** and early in the morning (Saturday) only to tell me off and quit on the spot because he wasn't making enough money on the day. All of sudden his quote for one aspect of the job was higher and he was extremely argumentative and was not even open to discussion about negotiating a new price, saying that I should hire the other "cheap" guy and even suggesting I go pick up day laborers at the Home Depot. He was rude, obnoxious, unprofessional, among lots of other words I could use for his immature behavior. And he left us on the spot as I had declined other offers for the job. I'm assuming he got another job that paid more, because clearly he was in his paint clothes but he clearly had no intention of doing my job before he even stepped in the front door, only leaving us without a painter for this last minute service we needed to sell our house. Sure, I know it was last minute and I know it was a small job, but that was no way to treat someone and I would never recommend him for any job! The fact he was insulted that I would get another quote from another company because they might be cheaper is the way it works and he should realize that even though he might be giving me a good deal any good customer is going to get at least two quotes, so he needs to get over himself and stop saying he is "best painter in the city" - as he told me as he yelled it from the middle of the street as walked away from quitting on my job without any new discussion of cost. He may very well be the best painter in the city (I will never know and don't want to), but I can say he probably runs the worst business in the city.

The Spiros painting team does the tough jobs. Having recently contracted for painting both upstairs and downstairs room in an older house, I got Spiros Painting to do what was left for a whole house painting. Two painters arrived and went to work. We had agreed on two coats of bright white eggshell paint. Not satisfied with the results, the Spiros team added a third coat to all closets. And the stairway overhead required special materials and extra work.

Dionysis and his dad were a delight. They are friendly, hard working, professional, and kind. I will be hiring them again without a doubt. The rooms were beautiful and they cleaned up afterward. I highly recommend them!

Fantastic. They were very responsive, and were able to visit our house and give an estimate the next day. They were also willing to work the week of Christmas. The were very hard workers, and spent 8-9 hours on site each day with 3-4 painters. They finished one day ahead of schedule (3 days total). Quality of the work was very good. It looks like a professional paint job. No complaints really. Give them a call. And, if you are lucky, you might get to eat some of their darn good Greek food for lunch!

We couldn't have been more pleased with Spiros painting. They were extremely knowledgable and showed up on the day they said they were going to start the job and came every day until the job was finished. The were very professional, took great care of our house, and the attention to detail was exceptional. The owner, Spiros, was incredibly friendly and super easy to work with on all aspects of the job. We have a 1940's era home in the Homeland neighborhood that we have been fixing up. The bottom half is brick and the top half is wood siding. Spiros painting scraped/sanded the entire existing wood siding and caulked and sealed every board and as a result the siding now looks like it's new. I would highly recommend Spiros painting to anyone. Everyone who now walks past our house says how great the paint job looks and it looks like a totally different house.

We could not have asked for better response and results. The work was started within 1 day of our approval of their proposal which covered three days of work. Day 1 was the pressure washing of the front that removed about 80% of the old exterior paint. Day 2 most of the front was painted and Day 3 was the finishing work and clean up. They were able to match the old color of the paint and were very meticulous in the clean up at the end of each day. We definitely will ask them to come back when we are ready to do any interior painting.

I couldn't be more happy that we chose Spiro's to do the job. We had some other contractors that looked at the job but we didn't get a great feeling from them and they were unresponsive at times. From the moment I met Spiro and his son I knew I had made the right decision. They were extremely responsive and did everything they said they would, and more. Just as importantly they were good people and the kind of people you enjoy doing business with. The cornice ended up coming out exactly as I wanted and was done in the exact time they said it would be done. Several neighbors have commented about how nice it looks. I wouldn't hesitate doing business with them again in the future, and I am quite sure that I will.
