+ 0 moreI normally do not write reviews, but I'm hoping this may help others when choosing roofing companies. I've heard many stories of unhappy customers with roofing experiences, so I went beyond the recommendations of getting three estimates and ended up speaking with six roofing companies. This was a painstaking process, but I felt it was worth it. To sum why I selected Pulaski: They always responded in a timely manner, they were very competitive in pricing, and their customer service was exceptional. Work performed: new roof, new gutters, and aluminum covering over the fascia boards and vinyl soffit. I couldn’t be happier with the results! Justin and his crew were professional, courteous, and very easy to get along with. They were respectful of my property while working, and every day they made sure there were no nails or any type of debris left on the property. My roof and the gutters look awesome! They also fixed/replaced fascia boards as needed and covered them with aluminum. And they did an incredible job on the vinyl soffit. My house looks practically brand new. We had a bad storm the other night with heavy rains, and there were no leaks to be found. As a customer, you want to feel like the company actually cares and takes their time with a job, and I can honestly say that the Pulaski team did just that. Their work is top notch quality, they are very competitive with prices, their customer service is outstanding, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for this type of home remodeling.

As for the work, I left my house in the morning when the crew pulled up and had a brand new roof when I got home from work. Everything was clean like they weren’t even there. + -1 moreThe most horrible experience, if you read this I hope you stop reading here and MOVE ON to the next roofing option. My family mistakenly engaged with Pulaski Roofers after the storms in Spring 2018. Pulaski made us wait MONTHS, quite literally the work wasn’t done until late November 2018. When they FINALLY came to do the work they called “while on the roof” to say that more of the roof was rotted. Without a quote or pictures or time to negotiate with the insurance company they went ahead and tore up/replaced the roof and charged almost double to fix. When we contacted the insurance company as you can imagine because they didn’t take pictures, didn’t keep any of the wood or notes to provide as evidence the insurance company wasn’t supportive and while we called the insurance company daily to try and recover some of the extra expense Pulaski Roofers bullied and threatened us repeatedly, with full knowledge we were working with the insurance company to get them paid! They are unethical, unprofessional, and downright despicable. We finally paid them last week and they still called today with their lawyer threats and bullying tactics for NO REASON, the check was in their PO Box last week and they never bothered to check it. Criminals have more standards and work ethic...

I reached their call center twice and left messages. It has been over a month and a half now. After a week I sought an estimate from another company and my roof is done. I still have never heard from them.

+ -1 moreTheir rep "Vern" was as he described "Old School" He inspected the roof and made a complete and thorough presentation leaving me with a "complete" and detailed proposal containing "ALL" pertinent information even copies of licenses and insurances. Their crew followed through in the same manner. The price was right in line with the others. I couldn't find any reason to hesitate in giving them the job. Others on Angie's were poor and shocking by comparison. Garner came and submitted a detailed proposal but didn't inspect the roof, said " he could see it using Google satellite, quite a trick since the roof was obstructed by two large trees. His presentation was not as thorough as Pulaski in its scope and transparency. Flannagan a local contractor left only a proposal sheet with me with "No" details and a comparable slightly higher price at the top then informed me he would elaborate on the "Details" "IF" I awarded him the job !! ?
Description of Work: Remove and replace standard rancher roof with projecting garage at one end. Older construction was more difficult to remove nevertheless, the crew finished in two days. Result was a beautiful job. I was very pleased received compliments.

Description of Work: Pulaski Roofers replaced a few shingles after a bad storm. I called them the same afternoon of the storm and they contacted me the next day. About a month later I had my entire roof replaced.

+ 1 moreI tried to get them to come out 3 times to clean/repair my copper gutters. When talking with the guy that would be sent out to do the repair, I specifically asked if I would need to be home or I needed to make any arrangements to let them into the property. He said no. I went to work and came home to a note on my door that said he couldn't get in past the fence and to call him to reschedule. Called to reschedule (and left the gate unlocked and cracked open this time), and as far as I knew, everything went well. But I never got that estimate. After a short break during which I was dealing with the death of a family member out of state, I came back and called the front office asking what was going on. She said she'd look into it. I never heard back from her, either. Finally, I gave up on it and gave the task of dealing with this company to my husband. He finally got a hold of someone and the guy supposedly couldn't get in the gate the last time he came out--even though it was cracked open--and instead of calling and asking me what to do or leaving another note, I guess he just shrugged and gave up. So he said he'd come out again (this time we left the gate open. Like, "come and steal our stuff and take a dip in the hot tub" open). It's been 5 days and still no estimate, no contact. I have officially given up on this company. If they want to send me an estimate, fine. They have my phone number and email address. But I will no longer be initiating any contact to get it. I've given this a month of my time and at this point, I just need the work done. If that means I have to find someone else to do it, so be it.

The only snafu was that they didn't notify us that they were coming until 7:00 a.m. the same morning and said they would be there in 30-45 minutes! That happened not to be a problem for us -- but it could be for some people.

+ 1 moreVern Letts was at my house the day after the storm damage. he assessed the damage immediately, assuring me no further damage from rain or wind would occur prior to his company being able to get back for the final repair. This was immediately following Hurricane Sandy when there was numerous houses needing repair. His company finished all work in an excellent manner within a reasonable timeframe.
Description of Work: Replaced entire roof shingles. Repaired siding, gutter, eaves and subroofing damaged by a fallen tree.

The representative presented a diagram showiing exactly what work would be done and explained everything to me. After the job was completed, I noticed some gaps in the roof (from my attic); I called them and they came out right away and fixed the problem. I would use them again.

+ -1 moreI decided to go with another roofer because they came in about $300 less than Pulaski using the same materials, including copper for the valley. However, I would use Pulaski in the futre if the price is reasonable because I respect the professionalism, punctuality and thoroughness. I was routing for Pulaski to have the best proposal so I could use them but in the end, I figured that I had someone who was going to do the same work with same materials for $300 less with a good reputation for slate roof repair.
Description of Work: Vernon came out to inspect a leaky portion of my slate roof. He diagnosed the problem and quickly provided an estimate within a few days.

+ 0 moreFabulous job, as usual. I have been using Pulaski Roofers for 25 years and they have replaced 4 roofs on various properties including this most recent job. They have also promptly come out to repair storm damage over the years. The first roofs I had them replace were a challenging dead-level 30x60 roof on an outbuilding (they put in a modified rubber roof), along with creative adjustments to the roof of an old army mess hall that had been converted to a house. That particular building had moisture issues in the attic due to a block and stucco covering that had eliminated any overhang/soffit, along with a central roof beam in the roof peak that made installation of a ridge vent impossible. Pulaski managed to slightly elevate the wood at the edge of the roof to create a slot to let air enter, and installed mushroom vents on the back side of the house to give the air somewhere to go to. On another occasion, Pulaski installed a roof fan which later proved to be a defective piece of equipment. Once notified, Pulaski came out to inspect and promptly replaced the fan at no extra charge. I have seen other reviews that complain about Vernon not getting up on the roof to make an estimate of work needed. When you know what you're doing and know the exact dimensions of roofing materials, it is not always necessary to be up on the roof to make the estimate. Over the years, I've found Pulaski Roofers to be prompt, professional, and although not necessarily the cheapest, the best value for high quality work. I heartily recommend them.
Description of Work: Removed all roofing materials from roof, along with unused satellite dish. Installed leak barrier at all eaves, around chimney and plumbing vents. Installed 15 lb. underlayment and starter strip at roof eaves and rakes along with aluminum drip edge. Installed 25 year shingles with 1" overhang on rakes and eaves. Installed heavy wt. aluminum step flashing/counter flashing. Replaced all plumbing vent flashing with neoprene no-caulk vent flashing. Installed ridge vent. Re-pitched existing gutters. Removed all debris and went over grounds with a magnet roller to get all nails.

There estimate was much less than 3 other local competitors for the same materials and service. They were open to negotiate (on the cost) on some unforeseen extra , work after the existing roof was removed. The overall experience was very good. The foreman on the job was knowledgeable and professional. My roof looks great and I would recommend them to others.

They showed up the day we set bright and early, were very polite and worked hard to finish the big job at hand. The shingles were a really expensive kind that they cut me a deal on (I priced 1 other roofing company in the area). The roofers did not destroy anything cleaned up their mess and finished the job in 1 day. There have been no problems with all the rain we have gotten over the last few months. I would recommend them to anyone that needs repairs.

They were much cheaper than the other two roofers I priced, but they did it using fewer workers, and completing the job more quickly. It's been raining a lot since the work was done, and the roof is doing its job well.

Description of Work: We had a leak above our one car garage where the garage met up against the side of the house. When we called Pulaski Roofing, they came out , told us that the shingles and the flashing needed to be replaced. I sent them a deposit and they were out the next week. It took about 4 hours to finish and I was satisified with the job. HOWEVER, after the next rain storm we had , the roof was still leaking in the same place. I called them and they were out the next day and "fixed it". AGAIN, after another rain storm it CONTINUED TO LEAK. I called a second time for them to come out again and they did and assurred me it was fixed. Well, guess what, another rain storm, an even bigger leak in the SAME SPOT. Yes I called a third time and was really angry. They again came out and "fixed it". Well, needless to say when Hurricane Irene came last weekend, I had puddles of water in my garage where the roof had been "fixed " three times by Pulaski Roofers and this was by far the worst leak, all where they had "fixed" it. I called first thing Monday morning and they came out for a 4th time. The man was very nice and told my husband that the flashing was tricky and whoever came out the prior time did not do it correctly. He assurred me that it was done correctly. We will see. I guess every time it rains I will have to call them back if it continues to leak. I think they should have given me a refund after the THIRD time the repair was done incoorrectly. Anyway, nice people, but after trusting them to fix a small leak that they have had to come out 4 times to get it right, I would NOT trust them to install a new roof...Hopefully after the next storm, I will not have to call them a 5th time.
