We agreed on a price, then had to negotiate on several items as the job progressed and we realized there was more work to be done. Granted, the work got done!
Description of Work: Previous contractor walked on us, so Mike came in and finished the renovation of a 4BR house, including finishing the basement drywall, flooring, and putting in a new bathroom.

Overall, I would not recommend this contractor as he appears unreliable. He had me waiting for over an hour and never showed.
Description of Work: I called Michael in the early afternoon. He answered the phone and I told him I was interested in an estimate to repair my fence, deck, powerwash and stain. He said he could come by later at 5:30. 5:30 rolled around and no Michael. At 5:45 he called and told me he was running late and would be about 20 minutes longer he was on his way. 40 minutes passed by and no Michael. I finally got sick of waiting and did the errands I had planned on doing earlier. Never heard from him and my neighbors said they never saw anyone show up nor did he call to let me know he was at my house. I don't know what kind of work he does, but he does not appear to be too reliable to me. I will continue my search.

I called him and I had some trash that needed to be cleaned up. He was there very quickly and he cleaned it out for me. He is very responsive. He is a good guy. I needed someone to take a late trash. He drives a truck and hauls all the garbage to wherever they take garbage. He is very punctual, I called him for cleanup, he looked at it, said he'll be back tomorrow with a truck and he brought a person to help him.
Description of Work: I used Michael Nuth Contracting for hauling services. I used him for minor cleanup job.

Excellent. Mike was great. Clean and quick and cheap.
Description of Work: We had a new raised deck built and that brought out the poor shape of our white wood window frames. So we called Mike to give them a quick prep and paint. He did so on the days we called and even came back the next day to put a second coat on. He was clean and quick.

The work went very well and managed to take advantage of the unusually warm weather in December. I was so pleased that I put together a series of photographs showing the progress and result..
Description of Work: I have a large Georgian Home in Roland Park, a subdivision of North Baltimore. The house was built shortly after 1900 and is of frame construction I needed to have the curved front porch repaired because of extensive water damage. Michael and his assistant opened up the entire front, removed the rotted wood areas, replaced the substructure, replaced the curved molding and the dentil work. The job was more intricate than I had envisioned and required more innovation than I might have guessed. Because the front work had gone well, I had them continue to do further work at the rear of the house which involved painting, carpentry and pressure washing. To add to the difficulty, much of the work was two stories up from ground level.

Mikecame out in March and we agreed upon a price. I had to buy all the materials, and I would then paid him labor. He came out the next day and started the project. He got the posts up to start the carport. We were issued a stop work order by the county. Since we already started the job, we ended up getting the permits to do the job. The columns were not put in the ground the way they should, so they had to be taken apart and redone with footers. The roof rafters were cut too short and barely fit the brackets. Five of them had to be pieced together. The roofing had to be extended another foot. Nothing was built to code. All the screws he used had to be taken out and nails had to be installed instead. I had to pay another $1500 to another contractor to get everything back to code. When we had to put everything on hold because of the stop work order, is when Mike fixed the bathroom. The floor went in correctly as well as the toilet, but the sink took awhile for him to get it the way it should be. Mike asked for his money upfront, so I am out of this money plus an additional $200, because he has not showed up to finish the job. The last conversation I had with him was when school started, and he told me that he had his son. I have not heard from him.
Description of Work: He was supposed to built a wooden carport on the side of my house. He was also supposed to build 6X9 addition in my basement. He also laid a new floor and installed a toilet, sink, and vanity in my bathroom.

We did not use his services. I don't think I would call again, as I had to make 2 phone calls to him to find out he was too busy at this time. I am BIG into customer service and this did not score high with me.
Description of Work: I had a variety of services that needed to be complete...he was too busy at this time to even come out to quote.

Got in late one night and went straight to bed, when I woke up the next morning I realized I had had a break-in the night before and didn't realize it when I came in the night before. A friend had mentioned how great Mike was before so I called. I called him at 8:45am, by 12:30pm I had bars on my windows, installed. Mike is truly a great guy and and great handyman. I don't know what I would have done without him.
Description of Work: Installed security bars on my back window.

I needed work on one of my apartments for the tenant prior to signing a lease. I called Mr. Nuth regarding sprucing up the apartment for the tenants. He responded quickly and met with the tenants to determine the paint scheme and their preferences for the apartment. He did an excellent job preparing the apartment for the tenants while still making sure to stay within my budget. The entire job was done quickly and the quality of Mr. Nuth's work is top rate.
Description of Work: Prepared an apartment for rent: painted the entire apartment, put down a new bathroom floor, repainted the kitchen cabinets, installed a new ceiling fan, and repaired the closet doors.

Mike was great! This is the second time we have hired him and we couldn't me more please. Mike is responsive, fast, tidy, well priced, great with my kids as they bother him while he works. Mike is quick with a quote and then honest about the time it will take to do the job, and then he gets it done early! Mike Nuth is my 'go to guy'.
Description of Work: I hired Mike for the second time to come back and paint some wooden flower boxes and mount them on the front of our house under our windows. Mike was awesome. He did it in the fastest amount of time possible, about 3 days. He primed and put several coats of paint on. Then he figured a safe easy way to mount the boxes so that we can remove them in the winter, and he hung them in about a half hour! I am always nervous about drilling into 'this old house' and Mike has a real nack and confidence for working with an older property.

The job went well. I am an out of state landlord. He was there when he said he would be and did what he said he was going to do. He went back to check it to make sure it wasn't dripping. He did an excellent job. I just called him again because I need him to do something else.
Description of Work: I used Michael Nuth Contracting to repair a drain in the front of a house. It was dripping and then freezing on the front steps.

Michael Nuth is a true professional who does exceptional work. I own an old home (over 100 y.o.) in Charles Village and after the plumbers repaired the leaky pipes on the 2nd floor I was in desperate need of a drywall specialist to repair the 1st floor ceiling. My search led me to Michael. After we talked I found that he was actually a handy man. Needless to say I had a list of repairs that were needed. He was prompt, his estimate was very fair and he began work right away. He worked practically in every part of the house. He was efficient but did everything with care. Again, Mike does exceptional work. You can't even tell that there was a giant hole in the ceiling in the 1st floor bathroom. The front door opens and closes with ease now. The backyard lights up when you open the back gate (no more feeling your way thru the dark). All the other projects were just as successful. He is a breath of fresh air. I love my old house and I trust Mike to do all the work. No need to search any more. Thanks Mike!!!
Description of Work: Dry wall / painted ceiling in 1st floor bathroom; repaired antique front door to close properly; insulated upstairs laundry room; installed 2nd floor bath antique shower head; installed new kitchen fixtures; repaired backyard gate to close with ease; installed motion detection flood lights in the backyard.

Awesome. We were very pleased and look forward to having Mike back.
Description of Work: Mike did an awesome job renovating our bathroom. He gave us a fair price and got to work right away! Throughout the project we changed courses a bit and went to upgraded marble floor, which he easily cut and laid perfectly! We live in a very old house so Mike had to take extra care working with our plumbing and electric, which he did effortlessly. We were on a tight budget and therefore needed to make use of some older pieces (tub and toilet) but chose to replace items we could afford to like the vanity and mirror. Mike was well able to go to home depot, keep track of receipts, and return items that didn't fit/work. We should mention that during the project we took the opportunity while Mike was around to have him fix a few other things... repair a fence (that involved digging holes and pouring cement), installing a door handle and deadbolt lock on our new front door, drilling w hole in our Boos block countertop and installing a waterspout for filtered water. Mike's best attributes are... he is a tidy worker cleans up after himself, he is quick, he finishes a job completely, he is flexible, if something is out of his scope of skills he will tell you and not take it on. - Katherine & Ted
