Joey Sauls is a Master Electrician at M&S. He couldn't be a nicer guy, knows his stuff, and is always up for a challenge. The job, which originally seemed likely to be somewhat simple, ended up having some complications, which he figured out no problem. I've always enjoyed working with him and call for him each time. He got everything done, did it in a professional way, and paid attention to all of the details I requested for how it needed to be installed. It all works great and we will continue to work with Joey going forward! Can't say enough nice things about this guy, who is a total resource at M&S.

We had Sia from M&S Baltimore come to our house for A/C tune up and I couldn't be more pleased! He was Very professional and I would recommend M&S to all my friends, just ask for Sia!!

They were very professional, but their price was 50% higher than the Angie's list plumber that I used!

They do excellent work, but I do believe they are expensive. The work they do is great. The service was excellent. It was just the price, I didn't have a quarrel with the quality. The guys they sent out were very nice.

Their cost was zero because there was some previous warranty. I needed to contact someone else. I had 18 visits to my house to see if they can see the problem. I had a warranty to their situation. There were 18 visits Michael & Sons made to the house and in those 18 visits, they couldn't actually see the problem. The 19th visit was a different company that was a specialist for the water heater and they solved the problem completely. I haven't had a problem since. I didn't pay anything for those 18 visits except for the aggravation. I dealt with them in the past and their prices were average. I will not call them back for the water heater, but I will call them back for my furnace and A/C since they installed it.

This company did a great job. They clean up after themselves and are very professional.

I have had several jobs done by these guys over the last few years on two separate houses. Including 1. AC Repair 2. Replacement electrical Panel 3. Various rewiring 4. Heating upgrades / fix 5. Replacement hot water heater. I am going to start this review by saying that these guys arenot the lowest price in town. In fact I have had more then one job that I knew if I shopped around I could have gotten a lower price, in some cases by hundreds of dollars. However I never did because: 1. Michael and Son does good work, you will not be calling them back to fix mistakes. 2. They have good customer service and they can send a tech out quickly if needed. When it comes to electrical, plumbing, and hvac its worth the extra money to ensure the job is done correctly. I recently bought a house, which was a flip, and had had to call out Michael and Son to fix multiple things that were not done correctly. They replaced an electrical panel that was a hack job, and came out twice to repair a brand new heating system that was never installed correctly. Twice because they came to fix the AC in the summer, and then again when it turned out the heat did not work correctly either.

not very well at all, while working on the electrical, they unplugged freezer, wasn't aware the freezer had been uplugged, everything spoiled. when using the new outlet that they worked on , I plugged in my extension cord, and it blew out my microwave. Michael and sons were made aware of the problems. After great length they finally did decide to pay for the meat that was in the freezer, but after I had excepted the check for the freezer, they closed out my file, stating that everything else was fine., which in real life, isn't, because I am without a freezer and a microwave that they destroyed and will not do anything about it. I would never ever refer this company to anyone else . In the very beginning they were very nice, but once you call with a complaint, then they are hateful and rude. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!

Called them and Tameka answered and said she could send someone out to the house (no heat and pilot coming on but not heating the air). I told her that he/she needed to call and give me a minimum of 15 min heads up. He claims that he called me, but I had no incoming calls. Luckily, the tenant came to the property and let him in. She then called me. He did not call me when he got there. According to the tenant, he was there about 2 minutes when he told her that the system was bad and a new one was needed. At that point she called me and put him on the phone. I could not understand anything he said and I drove over to the house. He did not show me why he said the valve didn't work (I have since gone on the internet and found that it could have been something simple like a corroded connection, not completely connected couplings, etc.); he told me that it would cost around $900 to replace (claimed labor charges, again google search revealed that a new unit was priced at around $250 and they gave DIY instructions to replace), then charged for a diagnostic. The technician DID NOT email me a receipt nor did he give me a receipt. He said he would email it to me, but it's been 3 hours and no email. just like there were no phone calls. I will call them tomorrow and demand a new technician that speaks english at no charge and the email that the tech, promised to send me. DO NOT USE THEM.

They did a 20 point inspection and cleaned my furnace and they were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating to my schedule. The technician, Julio was precise and gave me lots of detail and I would recommend them to anyone.

This area has a lot of iron in the water. So, it's an extremely complicated system that filters. The first system they put in was incorrect and they redid the system. They made good on it. They don't seem to keep the same specialist that they have doing this. So, one specialist tells you one thing and then, he doesn't stay with the company and the next time, it's a different specialist. It's kind of an expensive proposition to be messing around with your water.

From the start the professional plumber they sent out was amazing. I had other plumbers i called before Mike's, and most acted like they didn't want to waste their time and come out. This shocked me as i called some big name plumbing companies. The 1 company that did come out, barely looked at the problem and shot out a price. He made it seem like he had bigger jobs to go to. The plumber that came out from Mike's was very professional, i wish i could remember his name, but i think his name was Justin or something close. He took the time to explain everything that needed to be done, he even explained why what the other plumber was going to do could have broken the galvanized pipe leading to the basement. If that pipe was broken he showed me how I would have had to have my kitchen floor opened. He explained he was going to have to be very careful while trying to get the old galvanized elbow joint off in order to introduce epvc pipe onto the galvanized. The work was done in a few hours, and it wasn't easy, as he had a terrible time getting that old rusted elbow joint off. The work looked great! I was very satisfied with the work. I will say they are pretty high priced, but the old saying is true that you get what you pay for. I might have been able to get a better price for the same quality work, but after going cheap and getting a horrible result, I just wanted the job to be done right. I was so impressed that i called the same company back to set up new shower plumbing and fixtures.

Both the electrician and the plumber, Hank and Steve, arrived early, did thorough inspections of the areas needing work, and gave detailed estimates. Once we agreed to the terms they got straight to work. Both were finished by 5pm the same day. What I thought was just going to be a morning of estimates turned out to be a one and done. I was so glad to have two items that had been languishing on our To Do list taken care of on such short notice. Thank you Hank and Steve!

After th e the expensive. Flange. The tech had leak which took another hour. He finally left after 6pm The tech was professional during this whole deal. My beef is with Michael and son.

The electrician was very knowledgeable and completed the work in a timely manner.

The representative came and gave me a price which I thought was very ridiculous, he told me it was basically sticking his hand down in the garbage disposal to unclog it all to replace the seal in the bathroom toilet and it was like $450 is Way too much money I feel this company is way overpriced and I feel that they need to stop charging so much money when the work does not warrant it.

He didn't know what he was doing. He kept calling his office for instructions and told me that the relay board needed to be replaced. The unit was five years old and I didn't call them back. I will never use this company again. They were there when they said they would be.

The technician that came to give me the estimate, Sia Vahedi, was awesome! He came at the request of another technician, an electrician Anthony Nembhardt, that was equally as amazing. Sia came through on very short notice to give me the estimate and quote for replacing my unit. I wasn't quite ready to do it at the time, but Sia followed back up with me without harassing me about the purchase. When I scheduled my install for Jun 5, the two installers were wonderful, as well. They were Juan and Carlos. They were right on time, and perhaps even early. They were minimally disruptive. They did the job they were supposed to do in the allotted time frame. I was happy. By the way, the unit works ridiculously well. It's so much more efficient than I imagined. The reason for the C grade is because of what happened next. Within a day or two, I noticed that my dishwasher wasn't working. I called the dishwasher repairman and had to wait for him to come look at my dishwasher, only for him to tell me that he couldn't do anything because the unit wasn't getting power. Then we noticed that the garbage disposal wasn't working either. I had to then call an electrician to come fix my issue. Once the electrician arrived, he troubleshooted the problem. The A/C installers had pulled out the wires in the panel box and didn't put them back. They were in the panel box to connect the A/C unit and handler. Honestly, while I was a bit irritated by that, I'm more upset with Michael & Son customer service. I communicated my problem to Mandisa Delves and Vance Shephard. Mandisa responded saying that she would check in with the technicians, which I thought was a bit odd. I don't know if she was checking to see if they were ever in the panel box or to ask them if they neglected to put the wires back. I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose, but, whatever. It just seemed odd. Anyway, if the question seemed odd to me, I should have been prepared for no response, because that's exactly what happened to me. No one has responded to my complaint. At minimum, I expected an apology and some sort of offset of the $350 that I had to pay in unnecessary callout fees, which I only incurred because of their interference. I had one good experience with Michael & Son with electrical work. My A/C experience started out great, but ended in frustration, primarily because of the lack of customer support in the customer relations department.

We called Michael & Sons on Monday June 29 and they came out on the same day. The problem: Heat pump-- inside unit was running but the outside unit was not...no cool air. They came out and told us that the problem was a bad breaker switch most likely and that they would have to have their electrician come and replace it b/c they didn't do electrical work. The electrician came later the same day and put in a new breaker and said that this was not the problem, it still was not working. Also, he said that it was not an electrical problem at all and charged us over $200 for that. Two air conditioning technicians would need to come back again. Sooo on Tues.I took time off of work (husband met w/first techs) to meet 2 different guys. They came in and went out back, and looked around for about 3 or 4 minutes. They climbed under the deck and tell me that we do have power to the unit but the voltage is 120 instead of 240. They tell me that this must be an electrical problem; specifically that its the wire from the house to the outside unit (their electrician had checked this and said that this was not the problem but I didn't know this as my husband met with him). They said that they would need to have the electrician come back and they left. They sat out front of my TH in their van for about 30 minutes, doing what, I don't know and then left. About an hour later their electrician shows up and runs a couple of tests and determines again that this is not electrical.. Next thing you know, the 2 a.c. techs appear at the door (where'd they come from? we didn't see the electrician call them) that we need a new heat pump and it's going to cost over $6k for a 1.5 ton heat pump..What? I thought it was a breaker, a wire?This just seemed so staged it wasn't funny....I have called another company to come out and look at our system to determine what the problem is. If it turns out that we do need a heat pump, we won't be getting it from them....

The breaker for our hot tub started tripping. We called Michael & Sons to come out to determine if the issue was with the electric. They came onsite and before trouble shooting the technician required that my wife sign a form indicating the the cost for the troubleshooting may be as high as $400. The tech then unhooked the hot tub from the breaker and tested the breaker which did not trip. He then told my wife that that the issue was with the hot tub and that he couldn't fix it. He then told her that the cost for the troubleshooting (which took all of 5 minutes was $431). He then told her that he we should have a whole house surge protector installed for $449 and that if she let him do the installation then he would waive the $431 troubleshooting charge. So now we have a whole house surge protector that we don't need, our hot tub still doesn't work and we are out $400. The total time the tech was onsite was 40 minutes. I will not use this provider again. If you use them I would highly recommend getting some type of estimate up front.

The first appointment was scheduled and everything went great. This was purchased with out Angie's list however, looked for a company in Angie's list, not many deals were listed.

I paid $300 to have them solve the problem in words but not actually fix it. I thought the price was absorbent.

Cody arrived on time and cleaned out our outside drain to the sump pump as well as cleaned out the slug in the bottom of our sump pump. I called yesterday and wanted a special hydro jet cleaning of this drain because it was clogged and caused water to go in under the cellar door to our finished basement. They tried to accommodate me for same day service even though they were very busy because of the rainy weather and one of their hydro machines was not working. They kept in contact with me but because of another unexpected job would have had to get to me after 8pm yesterday so I just told the dispatcher to let the plumber go home and I could wait until today. They were here before noon and completed the job nicely. Cody was polite, and professional. Thank you and I will use them again.

Luke explained all of the details of what he was doing and why, e.g. the reason for replacing the aluminum wiring with copper. He was knowledgeable and very concise in his explanations. When the job was over, he made sure I understood how to use the new receptacle and inquired as to whether I had any additional question. Great service. Definitely will use them in the future.

On Feb 27, I had an appointment scheduled for Michael & Son to give me an estimate to move some sconces on my wall. It appeared as though it was an easy task, and although I?m not an electrician, I?ve seen enough to feel confident to tackle the project myself. I live in an older house though?like 1950?s old. And nothing is standard. Nothing is ever easy. Therefore, my attempts resulted in failure. Hence the call to Michael & Son. On the day of the appointment, I received an email with the name and picture of the technician they were dispatching to my house. As a single mom, I sometimes am a bit apprehensive of letting people in my house, so I TRULY appreciated the email. The technician, Anthony Nembhard, called prior to arriving with an ETA. Again, with such a large time block (mine was 8a-12p), I appreciated this. Additionally, it was very close to 8 when he called, so I didn?t have to spend my whole morning waiting. Anthony was AMAZING. He was very patient while I asked a million questions about what he needed to do, and why what I tried didn?t work. I also have a very weird electrical setup with three meters. In one visit, he identified the submeters and explained the setup, which several other electricians from other companies were never able to do. Additionally, he helped troubleshoot a noise I was hearing in my walls, which turned out to be pipes in my detached garage that burst. He found the shut off valve for me and called Michael & Son, asking them to send a plumber right away. I?m so thankful he was there. I wouldn?t have even known where to find the shut off valve. Lastly, while he was there for the estimate, I had a different company arrive for an estimate on replacing my AC unit. Without being pushy, he suggested that I consider Michael & Son for that unit, too. I heard that Michael & Son was reasonably priced for smaller jobs, but very expensive for major jobs. Therefore, I didn?t consider them. Luckily, I took Anthony?s advice. The offer was better than what I received from the other company and accompanied by a better warranty. I?m really glad that I called Michael & Son and that Anthony was my technician. He was a great help in moving my sconces and saving me tons of money with the ruptured pipes and the AC replacement. I highly recommend Michael & Son and, especially, Anthony. Thank you!
