They installed the system with no problems. They had to arrange for a Crane to lift the unit to the roof of the house and all went very well.

We have used this company now 3 times. They are reliable and come on time. They are clean and neat; using doormats at your front door and coverings on their shoes so they do not track anything inside. On our second encounter with them we had a furnace problem, which was an unusual problem . The tech worked until it was resolved which was quite a few hours. This last time we had a water heater installed and had a mess in the basement which was cleaned and fixed fairly quickly considering our old water heater was 15 years old. But the best part is all the technicians are so knowledgeable and actually go out of their way to teach you about your new faucet or water heater or the idiosyncrasies of your 15 year old furnace. I had never encountered that level of communication with any other company. This has become our go-to company for heating and plumbing. Plus you get a quote up front so you know what to expect.

I spoke with customer service before the technician was dispatched to explain exactly what kind of toilette I wanted. The technician arrived with different model. Since I had taken off work to meet the technician, I compromised and purchased the toilette he had on his truck. The toilette and installation was $100+ more expensive than I had wanted to pay but on the advise of customer service, I had printed a coupon from the Web and got $75 off so I was only $50 over budget. Much of the cost is for the delivery and installation of the toilette. I could have purchased a similar quality toilette at a big box store for 1/3 the price. Michael and Sons quotes the job and does not break out the product and service components. The work was well performed, the technician was reasonably timely but I cannot help but think that stocking the truck with a more expensive toilette was less than accidental.

They were very good. Their services were great. What I had them do was a one time balance amount and they don't hide anything, they told us everything that was done. The owner of the house before me had put gas holes on the floor. I think he didn't know what he was doing and he probably did the plumbing himself too. I'm so happy that that Michael and Sons resolved the problem. They are very fair and knowledgeable. He wasn't forcing anything, he just do what is needed to be done. He helped me out and everything was just excellent. He's also very clean. I would use their services again in the future because I love the idea of rolling the entire labor and everything else together.

They came very quickly. Usually, you call and somebody give you a date that is a week or two out. They pretty much came that day and installed a new heat pump within two days. So they completed everything in a time that would taken a company to actually come out here and see what was wrong.

Overall great job Mike did! He gave me est. on other work that I need done also. I will def use again.

I have used Michael and Sons in two different capacities. For about a year I've had a whole house contract with them which costs $29/month and get two inspections per year of my electrical, plumbing and HVAC. The service that I have received from this side of the company has been outstanding. Their prices are a bit high, but the professionalism and the quality of the work is well worth it. Since my experience with this side of the company was so good, I decided to use the remodeling side of the company to take care of some repairs that I needed. My experience was completely the opposite. I had a very unpleasant encounter with the individual who came as the estimator of the project and argued quite a bit with him about the purchase of materials. He did not want to purchase a storm door and wanted me to store until they could do the work. I explained that I live in a condo with no storage space for something that large and it took a lot of work to get what I wanted. When the men showed up to do the repairs one item was to repair a wall that was damaged from water. They repaired the piece of the wall that was damaged but would not paint the entire wall, so I had a wall with two different color tones. Again, a very unpleasant encounter with the estimator and so I had to go to the supervisor, who was accommodating and had the workers there the next day to fix the problem. However, the workers were careless and tracked paint on my floor and carpet, so they spent most of the time they were on day 2 cleaning the carpet. I do not recommend the remodeling side of this business. I will need a kitchen remodel but will definitely look for someone else to do the job.

The line had been replaced before, but it hadn't all been done correctly. They were able to use part of that work, and replaced the rest. I was very pleased with that. I haven't had any problems since they did the work.

Everyone has had the experience of taking advantage of an advertised special only to find that when all was said and done that it was no special at all. In our case we have a circa 1980 boiler in our house and needed to have it checked before winter was upon us. We heard on TV that Michael & Son was offering a special on heater inspections and called them to see if boilers were included. To our utter amazement they were. The person I talked to in my initial research was very polite and tried to upsell me on several things but was not in the least pushy or hard sell when I declined the other services. I made appointment and he assured me that the technician would call me before arriving and that the appt would be between 8 and 12 noon the next day. That night (10/10/12) I received a polite call confirming the appt again and letting me know that the tech would call before he arrived. A 8:45 I got a call confirming that the tech was on the way. Al Henderson arrived at 9:15, dawned his blue booties and set to work inspecting my monster boiler. Al was polite, friendly, very informative as to how this monster worked and professional as I could hope for. He cleaned it, scrubbed built up soot <sp> from the gas nozzles and inspected the system for pressure, leaks, CO2 issues, and temperature. When all was said and done he handed me a bill for $69 and thanked me for my business. No surprises, no gotchas, no issues. I can't tell you the number times I've taken up a company on a listed special and been put through the wringer fending off a list you need "this's." This WAS NOT my experience with Al and Michael & Son. Thank you Al for your honest, friendly service, you rock!!!! I would use them again in heartbeat. Honest, timely, professional and courteous.

We called for an estimate on a hot water heater to fix or replace. They were able to come out the same day for $29.00 to give an estimate. The plumber showed up on time and was very polite and courteous. He explained what he believed to be the problem with the water heater (dip tube), and wrote up an estimate for the dip tube to be replaced, and another estimate to replace the entire unit. We were going to use them to replace our unit since it was so old, but I wanted to price check. The installed price was $1500 (State brand) plus another $464 to bring the gas line up to code and have it inspected (total of $1964). When I called 3 other plumbers, they all quoted me in the price range of $1100 for the same job (including bringing the gas line up to code). We ended up using another contractor because the price was so much more from Michael & Son. I really wish we could have done business with them, but their prices were significantly higher than the competition.

The work was completed as quoted, with the exception of replacing a missing protective cover. After writing about the missing part in my review on Angie's List, I received a call from the company. They wanted to make it right and they did. A technician returned and installed the missing part.

I called on 7/26 for an estimate on a new air conditioning unit. I explained that I knew exactly what I wanted, gave specifications, unit and brand, answered any questions about scope of work and explained that I was looking for an estimate - realizing that it wouldn't be exact. I had had several people out to my home all to do the same run through and didn't see the need, so now was calling around for pricing and then would research the companies. I was passed through 3 people on 7/26 who asked a lot of the same questions and promised Tony could help me and would call me back the following day. Having heard from no one, I called them back in the afternoon on 7/27. I was passed through two people this time, giving the same extensive information that I gave the previous day. I finally wound up with Christina who took all of the information again and told me they needed to come to my home. I explained that I didn't want to have a home visit, had already done that, realized pricing wouldn't be exact and said I was told that Tony would call and give me pricing today. She said they don't keep pricing in the office, couldn't get anyone to speak to me over the phone and needed to come to my house. So, I now have wasted 5 phone calls and about 2 hours answering questions for nothing. I will not be doing business with them.

I needed a new dryer outlet because my old one was doing who knows what. The electrician came out at the time promised, fixed my outlet, and even gave me a new dryer cord for free, and he even put it on the dryer too. I have honestly never met a friendlier person in my life, especially when it comes to home repair men. I have an old house, so I know I'll need an electrician again, and I will definitely be calling them back in the future.

Studio 57 had just opened when we used their services. The Center is new but Angeline knows her business; she guided us to the perfect tile, recommending we use the same tile but in different sizes for the bathroom floor (large), shower floor (small), and shower walls (medium) with a wonderful accent tile. She discussed with us the cost versus look for different finishes as well as custom versus stock vanities. She has an extensive suplier list and was able to obtain all the pieces, and when we needed other items she was able to locate them and have them delivered. Ours is a small room but the frameless shower door, the dresser style custom vanity, nickle finish hardware and the all mirrored medicine cabinet make it look much larger.

This is our second of three major jobs with Michael and Son. The company has several divisions each with its own personnel and work record. We were very impressed when they gave us an estimate but between ordering and installation there was a change in management of the division. The Electrical Division Manager, Mike picked up the slack and came to the house himself to work out some issues that fell between the cracks . The division has a new manager, from the Electrical, and hopefully the issues we had should not be repeated. We do want to state that Michael and Son was very responsive to our concerns and addressed the issues quickly without complaint. We d like to provide some guidance for anyone installing a generator; things we wish we had known. The first step is a call to the gas company to make sure that you have sufficient pressure to handle the generator; if not the gas company will install a split meter for about $400 or a new line, much more expensive. The second step is for Michael and Son (or another company) to apply for a permit. The third step is to install the generator. Ours kind of happened in reverse order which required some extra visits from the contractor but everything did get done. The installer, Niam, was very knowledgeable, had an excellent work ethic, and was respectful of our living in the house -- he let us know when he had to turn off the power. The work was very neat and professional. We would recommend Michael and Son with the caveat that the homeowner needs to make sure they know the cost of the gas company portion of the project up front.

As with our previous experience, we were delighted with the work. They showed up on time, had all the equipment they needed on the truck and were able to complete the installations in quick order. We highly recommend Michael and Son. They are not inexpensive but we believe that the quality of the work, professionalism and responsiveness are excellent. We are also using the company for an upcoming generator installation and bathroom re-model based upon our experience with the electrical service.

I really do like them. They have done a bunch of work for me. They do great work. They are extremely professional. They always know what they are doing and the quality of their work is great.

We had one electrician (Matt Rogers) over the three and a half days. He did a superb job. He arrived early each morning, went straight to work. He was working in just about every area of the house but kept his material collected in one area and was extremely carefully to clean up as he finished each project. Each evening he reviewed with us the work completed and the work scheduled for the next day. He worked with us on selecting locations for lights and advising on appropriate fixtures. We were extremely impressed with his knowledge of aluminum wiring, lighting, coax, power consumption and the rest. This was a complicated job -- Matt just took it one job at a time and was able to get everything done in a fairly short time. We are extremely pleased with the work and would highly recommend him to others.

We were pleased with the work that was done and with price we were charged. They were professional, arrived on time, and were very friendly when they were working in our home. They cleaned up after they were done very nicely. I would refer them to others.
