Len The Plumber, LLC.

Late on a Friday night, I found part of my basement under the kitchen with water on the floor dripping from several place on the ceiling. Although I located water on the floor under the refrigerator in the kitchen, I could not find where the leak was. I turned off the main water supply to the house and proceeded to call a plumbing company I had employed before. I got a message that offered a emergency number and noted that a weekend fee starting at $250 would be charged. I left a message for a call back (I did not call the emergency number), which came in on the following Monday morning! A call to a second plumber whose advertisement in the phonebook suggested quality and I got a machine. I then called Len the Plumber using the Howard County number. The message indicated weekend service at no additional fee! I left my name and phone number and received a call back early on Saturday morning. After a brief description of the situation to the caller, she said that Mark would be out soon, ours being first on his list. She very confidently indicated that "Mark would take care of the problem," which was very reassuring to my wife. Mark called to say he was on his way and arrived by 8:30 a.m. He quickly located the leak in the plastic water supply, recommended replacing it with copper tubing and responded to my question about installing a shut-off valve at the junction of the copper tubing and the main water pipe. He gave me quotes for replacing the tubing only and for doing that and installing the shut-off valve. The price of $350 for the combined service seemed reasonable and he completed both jobs in about 2 hours. Mark was very competent, congenial, and offered advice about the effects the water leak might produce. He did note some rust in the water when the house supply was turned back on and wrote out instructions for flushing the hot water heater. True to his dispatcher's word, he took care of our problem.

They were very professional and did a good job. They talked to me throughout the whole thing to let me know what they were doing. I think they were fair in their pricing.

He was here less than 45 minutes and utilized existing connection to dishwasher. We asked around (after the fact) and found out we were lied to and should have gotten more estimates. The company did call to follow up about service and we told them how we felt. We said the job took less than an hour and we have since found out that most plumbers would have charged $150 or less. He said he would talk to his boss and get back to us. They never did. Please get competing bids when you get a quote that doesn't seem right. Wish we had.

The work that was completed was done properly, however, the bill was twice what I had expected based on the estimate. Things got added onto the bill after the estimate was given, that were not even discussed in the estimate. When I questioned the plumber about the number of hours he argued with me about the time spent, the costs and tried to justify what he had done. I eventually had him leave and called the office. The service manager, Rich, was very nice and made some concessions to help the situation. While I will not use them again because of the actual plumber that came to my house and the way he acted and the billing practices, the office staff seemed to actually care that I had a problem and were willing to come to a compromise to make things a little better.

My tenant telephoned and told me her toilet had backed up. I telephoned Len the Plumber because I had used them previously on two occasions for similar work and found them to be very professional and timely. They were at the tenant's house within the hour of my phone call. As on my previous experiences I found the technician to be polite and professional. He took apart the toilet and cleaned out the sewer line. The clog was caused by the use of "flushable wipes" which the technician told us were not really "flushable" and to not use them again or at least not flush them down the toilet. The charge was $354 which seems a bit high to me but conversely the company is well run and you feel in good hands when you use them.

Called office at 9:30 am and was told that serviceman would be here between 10:00 and 2:00. Serviceman called at 2:30 and arrived at 3:15. Job was completed at 6:00. Jay and Chris were competent and professional. They reviewed the problems, gave us an estimate, and completed the work without any wasted time. All the material they needed was on the truck. They were polite, friendly, and careful to clean up after themselves. Overall, a very satisfactory experience.

Okay needed new hot water heater and tried to go green with instant on heater installed. They made the first trip, we figured I had to get some other work done before they could install. Got electrical work done then they came by and installed. Guy really didn't know what he was doing but got it done.

I called them, and they came right away. The prices seem to high and very arbitrary but I had the work done to have peace of mind. They tightened a screw in the packaging of a valve for $135.00. The valve had been leaking. Replaced two feed lines for the stationary tub in the basement. They didn't use good quality feed lines. After the work was done and it was time for me to sign the work order, the plumber tells me there is no guarantee on the valve job. And the valve leaked again the very next time I turned it on after he left. I called Len the Plumber to express dissatisfaction with the way the valve job went. I had to leave a message with a secretary. Of course, they were not decent enough to return my call.

I took 4 hours off work to meet them. At 10 a.m they called and said they wouldn't be able to make the appointment and that I would have to wait at least 4 more hours for their afternoon interval from 1 p.m to 5 p.m. Apparently they only have 1 man servicing Ellicott City and if he runs late, you're screwed. They would not send anyone else to meet the original appointment, so I canceled their services and told them I would bill them for my wasted time.

He did the best he could do with the drain. It is so old that it is on its last leg anyway. He was also very reasonable and it was what I expected it to cost. The drain works for now, but we are going to end up having to replace it.

They gave me different options, which I liked. They kept me from being ripped off by another company. They came out right away. The boss was polite and responsive and gave me his cell phone number if I had any questions.

Len the Plumber was okay. When they left I thought they scratched the tub up, but then I noticed that they just did not rub away the bark and the tub just looked scratched. They really did not do a good job cleaning up after themselves for that part. Their prices were no steller bargain either. But I will consider using them again.

The people that did the work were very honest. They did finish exactly when they said it would be done. This was a rather large project so I was happy with that. The workers did show up every day on time and were very reliable. I thought the price they charged me for this service was fair. I am not commenting on the exact price though.

Len the Plumber offers very responsive and professional service. They came the same day I called and got the water out of the basement with the sump pump. I was so thankful that they would come so quickly when Im sure others were needing their service too. The price was high though.

I got the company off of Angie's List and I have used them in the past. I made the appointment and they came right out the following day. It only took them three hours and they cleaned up nicely after the job was complete.

I called them in the morning and they sent someone out that afternoon, which was great. The work I needed done was too simple and they were too expensive. It's something I could have done with a plunger, but my back doesn't allow me. The person they sent was friendly and nice, and also did a follow-up call. They did great work, but because of the price I wouldn't hire them again.

He came to the house and was very pleasant. He inspected the area of concern and properly covered the surrounding area. He quickly and cleanly changed the valve and made sure the line was clear. He checked the water pressure to be sure the problem was resolved before leaving. He cleaned up after himself.

Overall, the work was performed satisfactorily. After two days, the toilet does not appear to leak and the new faucets appear to be working properly. However, $214. for pulling toilet and 250 to put in new faucet appears quite high. I was not happy with them including a $29.00 trip charge on top of these high costs. The plumber later called me and told me they had made a mistake with the estimates. Both estimates included an overhead charge which should not have been. Therefore he reduced the second task by $65 and sent me a check. I agreed to change my Angie?s List comments based upon that.

The project went fine, and the main office followed up to make sure I was satisfied with the work.

Customer service over the phone was very courteous, and all went as described. The plumber arrived on time, performed the job quickly, and gave me some good advice on replacing the toilet and sink.

He said that the shower plumbing was shot and that it should all be replaced. Lots of drilling and cutting. I said I would think about it. I then played with the shower handle myself - found a little cover that popped off, tightened the screw back there and solved the problem myself. It was probably an honest oversight on his part - but there are too many plumbers out there for me to try Len again. Their estimate for that work was $600.

We woke up one morning without water. Len the Plumber was able to come out that day and fix the problem. We appreciate how timely they were in their ability to fix the problem and get us water again. The trip charge is 29.00 and then the pressure switch was 341 (very high mark up on this!!).

I contacted Len the Plumber re a leaky garbage disposal. They were not willing to come after 4 p.m. on a weekday, so I made an appointment for the following Saturday morning. The technician came on time as scheduled and replaced garbage disposal. $372. A week later I noticed it was leaking again and called to report this. The person who took the call again would not arrange for someone to come in the evening (which they should have, since the second visit was to correct their error), so I made an appointment for the following Saturday. There was a call to my house a couple of days later offering an earlier appointment in the evening, but by then I was out of town on the days they offered and just decided to wait until Saturday. On the second Saturday call the technician arrived on time and found that the garbage disposal had been improperly installed and he fixed the problem. Hopefully there will be no additional problems.

Make certain that Len the plumber is going to live up to his scheduling commitments. They do not charge an hourly rate, so be aware that the price that they give you may be pretty high. They access it by the job, and they charge for labor. In this instance, the total cost was only for labor not parts.

My resident telephoned me stating that the basement toilet was backing up. I looked up Angie's List and saw that Len the Plumber received many complimentary reviews and was located very close to the resident's house. I telephoned Len the Plumber and found them to be very professional and friendly. They showed up to the house within 2 hours of the initial call. They discounted from the price the evaluation/diagnosis fee because my resident had explained the problem to them so well over the phone that they knew before they showed up what the problem would be. I found this very decent of them. The work was completed that same day and the following day I received a follow up phone call by the company asking me if everything was still fine and telling me that if any problems occurred to please notify them.
