Len the plumber came out to do some repairs in my bathroom, prior to my house being listed to sell. This included replacement of two faucets and the shower head/spicket. The cost of this work was ~1500 dollars+ parts. It took one person about half a day to do the job, which seemed a little steep at the time, but I was expecting good quality and was willing to pay for it. 2 months later when the house sold and the home inspection was done, the shower spicket had come loose from the wall and one of the faucets was leaking from the drain below the sink. When I called and asked them to come and take a look, they said Len the Plumber was not responsible for the cost of repairs and I would be charged for someone to even identify the problem as the warranty had lapsed. When paying 1500 for a half day of work, the lack of professional responsibility for the integrity of the work was shocking to me. This type of repair should last years and the company should at least have the courtesy to look at the problem before asking for more money to fix it. I now have to find someone to repair the job they screwed up before the house sale can be finalized. Unfortunately, this is a large company and a single review has little weight, but I will never use this company again and will ensure my Baltimore networks are warned against patronizing them. It is the classic example of poor workmanship, high prices, and failure to stand behind the quality of ones work. I have attached pictures of the poor quality work and the repot documenting it from the home inspector.

Needing a new hot water heater was an emergent situation for me and Len the Plumber responded promptly and had a very professional, friendly, skilled technician to my home the next day. This turned out to be an all day affair and not an easy job for the extremely overweight technician. My hot water heater is in a small laundry closet. But he did get the old one out and the new one in. In the process, he either leaned on, stepped on or whatever but ultimately grossly dented the face plate at the bottom of the heater before it was installed on the unit. When he left he said "I'll bring a new one tomorrow". Nope. Never happened. Over the next several weeks I called Len the Plumber three times to tell them I would like a face plate that fit as designed and would completely cover the inside of the exposed area of the hot water heater. I had paid for an undamaged unit, as anyone would, and I was not the one that damaged this piece. I was always told someone would get back to me. Nope. Never happened. With each subsequent call "professionalism" played less and less into their responses to my situation. Clearly they do NOT stand behind their points listed on their web page and below: *Provide the highest level of quality in every project *Follow up with you to ensure your complete satisfaction *Abide by fair and ethical business practices As long as nothing goes wrong on their part, they are happy to help and are courteous, timely and efficient. Have an issue and their tone changed with each subsequent phone call (I'm thinking they were reading about me on their "file" as I told my story yet again). I realize this face plate makes no difference in the functioning of the hot water heater. But, that is not my point. They damaged it, I did not and I want it replaced. Go with a smaller company with a good history of happy customers. I will be in the future.

Having a hot water heater replaced was an emergent situation and Len the Plumber had someone to my home the next day. The technician was prompt, friendly, skilled and extremely overweight. It ended up being an all day affair but ultimately he did get the old one out and the new one in. It wasn't easy either way as the tank is in a small laundry closet. In the process of installing the new heater he either sat on, stepped on or leaned on with his hand the face plate that covers the exposed inside workings on the lower front of the hot water heater. It was seriously bent and didn't properly fit on and snugly cover the inside area, keeping it from dust, lint, etc... As he left that day, the technician said "I'll bring you a new part tomorrow". Nope. Never happened. Over the course of the next several weeks to a month I called Len the Plumber 3 times and explained the situation. With each subsequent call I made the gals on the phone because less friendly, short with me and though they all said someone would get back to me it NEVER happened. I even asked for a number or email address for a "higher up" person I could contact and was REFUSED. Clearly the following points so nicely laid out on Len the Plumber's web page are NOT adhered to: -Provide the highest level of quality in every project -Follow up with you to ensure your complete satisfaction -Abide by fair and ethical business practices As long as things go well and right, their customer service is excellent. Have an issue? All bets are off. I just finally gave up and threw in the towel Go with a smaller, local company with a long history of happy customers. I will be in the future.

When no one else would help us with an emergency main waterline repair Chris P. In the Lorton office came in and did great work to get us water service back again. Although the insurance company failed to follow Chris’s recommendation for a total waterline replacement, he did a great job with the repair that they would pay for. Background: Our old sump pump stopped working during the heavy rains. We called Len the Plumber to come out and replace with a new pump we had purchased from Lowe's. The technician, John, came in Monday and told us the pump we purchased would not fit in the small area of the sump. We then took his recommendation to purchase a more expensive one from him that would fit. It took him 1 1/2 hrs to take out the old on and putting in the new one. However, after it was in, I asked him about the stuff on the side of the sump area and he said they don't clean that off. He did not offer to put a cover on the sump. We paid him and he left. We kept smelling a sewer type smell. We used an exhaust fan and that helped. After a few weeks, the smell had gotten worse. We called them back and scheduled for him to return Friday to check the smell to see what needed to be done to fix it. They had to reschedule until Saturday morning. We were up and ready but he didn't show at the time scheduled. I called and they had the technician, John, call us. THEY NEVER came for the new appointment. He informed us that there was nothing he needed to check, so he wasn't coming for the appointment. He said he had written down on his sheet that the smell was probably from a broken line and more work would be needed. He never told us anything about what he thought the smell was from nor did he ever inform us we would need additional work done. He wasn't concerned that I would write a review on Angie's List. I guess he feels it's his word against ours. I will never use Len the Plumber again!

We have had the basement flood from time to time for years. Corey identified the causes of the flooding and educated us which will save us much time and money in the future. We have had multiple other plumbers out before but no one who quite had the overall picture of what the real root cause was. I sent the following review to Len the Plumber, and I requested to be contacted. Almost 3 months later, no one has contacted me. 1. Appt was from 12 - 4 p.m. Tech arrived around 6. 2. I gave the part that was sent by Rheem to the tech. He didn't even know what some of the parts were for. I gave him the instructions and said he might want to read them. 3. He quoted me $350 to put a part in that I already had (he was in my house a total of 45 - 50 mins.) I think this is an exorbitant price for less than 45 mins of labor. PLUS, the original $49 tech fee was not deducted, as I was told it would be, when I made my appointment. I feel I was taken advantage of, since I was at the mercy of the tech to install the warranty part sent by Rheem. 4. Originally flame for pilot was a controlled regular flame (when it lit). After tech installed new pilot assembly, the flame was a rolling flame all along inside the bottom of the water heater. Still not fixed since pilot light extinguished. 5. He said the pilot assembly didn't correct the problem, so I asked him to try to figure out what was wrong with it. He said he didn't know, and suggested I get a new hot water heater and gave me quote. Since then, I called Rheem again, and they told me next step is to check the thermal release device. Why didn't tech? He should have known to do that. He did nothing to fix it. 6. I am thoroughly disappointed with the service I received.

This job was a real challenge because of the constant and heavy rain we've been having. Because I was without use of my plumbing the crew first tried to squeeze the repair in before rain, but couldn't get it done. I was very grateful that they, led by Tim, decided to fill in the hole that they had created in their attempt because they were worried that I would have too much water coming into my basement during the rain. As soon as the weather cleared they were back and finished the repairs. They also identified that there was a clog on the city's side and called it in as an emergency for me. I must stay I was hesitant to use such a big company at first. Len the Plumber -- at least the Baltimore office -- shows that big doesn't mean impersonal. They are my go-to plumbers now.

At first, they gave me all the attention; even after I was quoted $29,900.00 to replace/relocate my main sewer line. It sounds expensive but I had an odd situation and I was OK with the price. After I gave the OK to proceed with the job, they dissapeared, I made multiple calls, txt messages, left voice messages, etc, with no response or reply. They just left me with my issue. If you have a BIG job DO NOT call Len the Plumber.

Went poorly. They did not show nor did they call. I had a 2-5 and called to confirm at 4. The women said they would call back in 20 minutes but that did not happen. Gave up at 5. Someone called at 5:20 and stated they were swamped with sump pump issues. Wanted to reschedule on Sunday but I can't trust Len anymore. Not going to kill my off day after I burned 4 hours leave today waiting.

The young man was friendly and professional. He looked under the sink and exclaimed that a new faucet was needed, and since it was a double sink I might consider replacing both. He offered my wife and I a catalog and suggested $1700 of work. I demurred. I contacted Moen and described the problem. They happily sent some replacement parts free of charge. I contacted Mr. Handyman of Baltimore County to install the needed part (a replacement hose). The installation costed me $164.

1st experience: we had sewage backing up into our laundry drain line. I called Len The Plumber & once they arrived the guy said he had to snake the main sewage line. He removed my toilet to do it (he didn't understand there was a clean-out right next to the toilet & so I was charged for him to remove the toilet), then tried to snake it & there were roots in the line so he couldn't do anymore. They sent a tech out with a camera a day later who did use the clean-out next to the toilet to access it, then quoted us an outrageous price to replace our sewer line. We ended up replacing it with another company that was about $2,000 less. 2nd experience: We had water backing up in the same drain line from the laundry & called Len The Plumber. They gave us a window of 2-5pm, and then the guy didn't show up until almost 8pm. He was incredibly nice & helpful when he did arrive, he removed the drain pipe to access the line, then tried to snake it. He said he wasn't able to finish the job because his snake got stuck on roots, and recommended we replace this entire pipe in our basement (jackhammer the basement floor, tear out walls, etc.) for another massive price tag. In the end we paid about $425 for him to show up late, claim to not be able to fix the problem, then reattach the pipe with a clean-out. The day after the service my wife called to complain about the lateness & the overall price because we were under the impression that nothing had been fixed, and while talking to a supervisor she was yelled at over the phone by him. I repeat, a supervisor yelled at my wife over the phone when she called to complain. So regardless of the fact that all technicians I have dealt with at this company have been very nice and friendly, although the first I would say was not very smart having not been able to identify the clean-out next to the toilet, the fact that a supervisor yelled at a customer is unacceptable, unprofessional, and completely ridiculous. I will never use Len The Plumber again, and recommend that you do not call them either.

HORRIBLE!!! If I could give negative stars I would. Took a day off of work to wait for these clowns and how unprofessional could they be. Gave me a window of 12-4 for service. Received no call of any kind all day and decided around 3:30 I should call to see what was going on. Woman answered and immediately put me on hold. Some guy named Joe gets on the phone and tells me they called me twice and that they now can't perform service until Wednesday. Informed him that I took off of work all day to wait for them and that no one called and he needed to make arrangements for service today as they had promised. He refused and made no effort to make it right. Had my phone with me all day waiting for these people to call - why would I be calling them at 3:30 saying no one called if I received a call?!?!?! Makes no sense whatsoever. Asked how to contact the owner and asked for "Joe's" last name. Neither of which he would provide. Horrible. Will never call them again and will be telling everyone and anyone I can about their lack of professionalism and disregard for other people's time. Horrible way to run a business.

Called them hoping to get same day service. Surprised that they were no able to get us in even though we called around 2. Scheduled for the next day- give a large window of time and then issues since they could not find parking. Would of been helpful to know this was going to be an issue prior to picking a time for them to come out. The plumber Jake was great and courteous and was able to repair the issue. However due to the issue with scheduling would maybe try another company first. Price was high and would of been ok if they came say day- but to have to wait til a day later seem contrary to what they advertise.
