The quote was as follows: $342 to snake the main sewer line $310 to install their kitchen faucet with side mount spray (have older sink with cut out for side mount sprayer, and I like that better than pull out sprayer). If had wanted pull-out, it would have been $487-$100. $318 to install their single handle Moen bath vanity faucet. $139 to install their ÂĽ turn bib at outside faucet. $69 to install my new WaterPic shower head. $30 to install new tub spout (they said it should be changed). I gave go ahead and work was done. They provide lifetime faucet parts warranry (actually this is provided by mgf.) and 1 year labor warranty. If something happens with faucets, they will provide parts to me so I may do repair or have someone else do it. No warranty on my shower head. Work was done timely and professionally. Len later sent someone out to camera the sewer line, looking for damage. It makes sense since often reason for sewer line backup is because of roots, collapse, etc. It then gives them an opportunity to ?sell? their sewer line replacement service. They gave me a quote to replace sewer line - (%5,680 less $342 (cost of snaking pipe) for net $5,338. If I had wanted them to put in using the "pipe bursting option" it would have been $6,888. Since did not want hole placed in front part of basement, did not want that option. Because a major expense, wanted more quotes. Had quote from Earl E. Preston, Jr. Inc. recommended by friend at $4,400. Quote from A.J.Michaels recommended by friend for $4,100. And went with M. J. Tarburton, Inc. recommended by neighbor and friend and their quote $3,600. See my Angie's review of their work.
Description of Work: House built in early 1950's and recently had bath water backup in basement laundry tub. About 15 years before, had toilet back up and knew that meant the main sewer line needed to be "snaked". From searching Angie's List, called Len the Plumber. I had not been impressed with person that took my call and information. Only because business had been recommended on Angie's List did I continue and have them come for estimate. Not an emergency so requested they come the next day. I was impressed with the plumber that came out for the estimate/service call. He provided that quote and since I had other plumbing work wanted done, asked about providing quote on that as well. He indicated there would be a $100 credit if had all work done at same time. So I agreed, and he timely and professionally did all the work.

Our hot water heater stopped working just before Christmas. I called Len the Plumber in the evening on Sunday 12/22, and was offered an appointment during the time period of my choice on December 23. The plumber arrived during the time period, assessed and explained the problem, and installed a new water heater within a couple of hours. He was very polite, professional and took care to inconvenience us as little as possible during the time he was working. We had feared we wouldn't get anyone out before Christmas, but we were pleasantly surprised.
Description of Work: Installed a replacement hot water heater and made repairs to valves on the pipes leading to it.

Len the Plumber works on Saturdays. That is the perk with using them. The only perk as the price is more than twice as a high as other local plumbers. They did the job I needed done and were able to come out on the weekend to do it. My plumbing valves don't leak any more but my pocketbook was a lot lighter when they left. Don't call them unless its a weekend emergency.

Description of Work: Opened a elbow of bathroom sink to search for a loose denture then reclosed. We thought the price was high for just 15 min. of work. but he charged for a whole hour. I thought he charged more than a doctor. Asked about other plumbing costs and they were very high as well. The cost reflects the fact that Len the Plumber spends lots of money on TV advertising. would definitely not use again. I would use a licensed plumber who is referred by friends and does not charge as much. See above for details.

Jeff W. was great. He diagnosed us with a leaking water heater, and was quickly able to replace it. Jeff was very professional, answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable. He was even able to point out and correct flaws with the previous installation. We are very appreciative of his help and would work with him again.

Used poor quality fixture but hyped it as better than we could get ourselves. It's PLASTIC. Repairman reeked of cigarettes. UPDATE: THIS REVIEW IS TO AMEND OUR ORIGINAL UNFAVORABLE REVIEW SUBMITTED 12/23/2013 - faucet replacement with unsatisfactory materials. Original cost of service was $477 - not the $185 we reported in error in the original review. Upon reading our evaluation on Angie's List, an experienced representative from the company called, asking for further information. We explained that we had not been given any options in selecting the new faucet and were dissatisfied with the style and quality of the replacement. In response, the company representative offered to replace the new faucet at no charge with one of our choosing and to reimburse us for the retail cost of the original replacement. We accepted this offer and are entirely satisfied with the outcome; both the company representative and the plumber were first rate.
Description of Work: Replaced leaking kitchen faucet. UPDATE: Provider rectified the repair in response to our previous review -- to our complete satisfaction.

They came out the day after Thanksgiving and gave us a price to fix the problem. They went ahead and did the job, but the next day the problem occurred again. They came back Monday and said it was a different problem and it would cost an additional $5,000. They came back a few days later to do the job. They left my driveway an absolute mess after finished the job. They said that they would be back to clean it, but still have not been back yet.

We called Len the Plumber at 4:45 a.m. not expecting anyone to answer the phone. To our surprise, a pleasant person answered our call despite the business not opening until 6 a.m. We requested emergency repair service and were given a window from 8-9 a.m. Around 7:30 a.m. the company called and provided confirmation that Jay would be arriving between 8-9 a.m. to our home and gave us some background information on him. We were even sent an email with his photo and bio to ensure it was him when he came by. Jay arrived promptly at 8 a.m. He was courteous and professional and provided us with answers to any questions we had about the water heater system. He assessed the problem, provided feedback on the repair and cost and we approved him to move forward with the repair. He was thorough while not taking too much time out of our day. We spoke to him about other options of water heaters for well systems and he left us with some information to research further. A great employee and a great company. We will definitely call them again for our plumbing (emergency or non-emergency) needs.

We had a gas leak & the gas company showed up to turn off the gas. We called another plumber (who supposedly had a 24-hour service) and waited 7 hours with no heat or hot water before calling Len the Plumber. They had a guy there within the hour. He checked out the gas line and said he needed to order parts (it's an old iron line and it was 6 pm by the time he got there). Because there was no coupling nearby, he mentioned a large section of pipe would have to be removed (the guy from BGE warned me of this, so it was no surprise). He drew up the estimate, which I approved immediately and said he'd be back in the morning. At 7 a.m. the dispatcher called and said 2 other plumbers would be sent over because our guy had to go on another emergency call. I've since forgotten their names, but they were both courteous, professional and prompt. We went over the gas line situation, I told them we had just bought the house and mentioned there was some other work that needed to be done. They gave me all the time and attention I wanted as I showed them all of the other things that needed to be fixed (but wasn't expecting to get a plumber to do it for a few weeks). While one worked on the gas line repair, the other drew up another estimate for all the work. I approved the estimate and left them to do the work. They worked smartly, disassembling the pipes while they were there; getting the supplies they needed (and the new sink) while they were out on lunch. By the end of the day all the work was done; an orderly array of new lines, valves and vents replaced the hodge-podge of pipes that had been there before. They did great work and drew me up an estimate for replacing the water heater (which is old and probably on it's last legs). In retrospect, I thought they were a little on the high side regarding price, but the promptness of the service and the quality of their work made it worth it. To me, paying a little more for a job done right (and having a rapid response when you don't have any heat) is a no brainer.

|Tony was professional, knowledgeable, and effectively fixed the problems I was experiencing. Based on my experience, I plan to use Len the Plumber again.
Description of Work: The technician (I believe his name was Tony) diagnosed the cause of two clogged drains in my bathroom. Rather than choosing a short-term fix, I opted to replace the broken parts of the plumbing system. To prevent further problems, it was also suggested that I replace a few of the exposed galvanized pipes and fittings.

I can't speak high enough of the service we received. They were right on time, same day service. They made sure to lay out plastic on the carpet etc. The clog was stubborn and the plumber tried numerous times from inside the house, and outside the house without giving up. After a little over an hour he was able to clear the clog. They were professional, kind and hard working. They also did not hesitate to honor the $99 off discount from TV.

Jay was very professional and helpful both times he came out. The first time he came out was for an estimate and to assess if it was possible to hook up my washer in the new location. The second time he came out he actually did the work. All I needed to do was to have the space open and available for him to work. He did the rest. He ran new plumbing lines, hooked up a new wash basin, hooked up the washer. Put in a pump system that would push the waste water out through our sewage lines. It is not easy to have someone working in your house for a day. But Jay made the day pleasant. He was professional, efficient and courteous. I would definitely use Len the Plumber again. I would also request Jay.
Description of Work: Jay put in all new plumbing so I could have my washer and wash basin in a place in a new location in my house. This was quite involved and it took a better part of a day to accommplish.

The plumber (Christian) was punctual and on time. He explained the several options available. Either he could perform a quick temporary fix on the broken water heater or replace it with a high quality one. I choose the later as I figured he was here and why have to have him back in several weeks or months again because of no hot water. Christian was very professional and gave us several tips to follow on maintaining a water heater. This is the first time we used Len the Plumber and will use them again, for sure.

We called Len the Plumber because our disposer was making a humming sound and not turning. The cost of a replacement, exact model is $99.00. To install a new one is $125.00. Len the Plumber's dispatch stated the cost of coming out would be $49.00 which is waived of you agree to the cost of repair. The plumber came in, literally wiggled a wrench and removed a small copper staple. He gave us a bill for $171.00. He was in our home less than 15 minutes, he did not have to take anything apart --- nothing!!!! I will not recommend their service due to the pricing. I have contacted management because we were not given an estimate so their was no opportunity to decide if we wanted to proceed or not.

Description of Work: The toilet was constantly running water. He had to replaced the old insides with a new one which stop the water from running and god that saved my sanity.
