I liked the quality of the work that was done. They did the work in a very timely manner. They were on time and got thing's done exactly as they said they would. The people who did the work had good character and made the service enjoyable.

The roofers arrived promptly and completed the work in a timely manner. It has since rained heavily and the leak that was present prior to the repair is gone. I would definitely recommend this roofing company.

Everything went very well. I actually had to re-schedule the first appointment due to a family emergency and they were very flexible. The powerwashing crew was great, they explained everything in detailed and were very quick about doing the job. They told me I didn't need to be home for the second part of the job (the sealant), which was great. I came home one day and they had left a note telling me that the job had been completed. The deck looks great, I am going to stain it though, since the sealant they put is clear (which I knew about that). They quoted me the price for staining and it was a bit high, and they even suggested that I could do the staining myself. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend Kelbie Home Improvements (and the deck deal!).

The company performed the services as agreed to. They have a busy schedule and try to accommodate the customer, but it is a good idea to confirm the time and date. Quality of the work was good. Also, the power washing was done, as scheduled, and was of good quality.

Most recently, on October 7, 2011, Mike Kelbie and his crew completely replaced the roof on my 4 story apartment building located on Capitol Hill. There were 2 layers of old roof that had to be removed thus entailing a substantial clean-up and disposal challenge. This was all done with great care and efficiency. Once the old roof was removed, some amount of the old wood substructure needed replacing. After careful preparation the new granulated roofing material was installed. The job also required the installation of a new roof vent, a skylight, drip edges, gutters and downspouts. I could not be happier or more pleased with the finished job. I highly recommend Mike Kelbie and Kelbie Home Improvement because they consistently do outstanding work at a reasonable price.

Work was not performed. They were almost 4 hours later than promised, showing up after 4:00 in the afternoon. Before work would begin, I was required to sign a waiver saying that they have no responsibility for my being satisfied with the result, and furthermore agreeing not to submit any negative reports to any web site on which they were a member. I recommend removing this company from Angie's list, as they are requiring their customers to sign an agreement disallowing them from submitting negative reports!

I am pleased to say that after torental rains and the recent hurricane Mr Kelbie successfully fixed my North DC flat roof that had leaked. I was pleased with the payment options that Mr. Kelbie offered me with half the amount due up front and half due a month after completion. He even has extended to me a discount of 40% off the next project which will be a total re roof. The workers were professional, and did a wonderful job. I could not have asked for a better company to work with.

Kelbie performed a roof inspection and fixed a leak around a vent pipe that was causing me heartache. they also made a recommendation to replace some rotting facia boards and trib boards around teh windows and provided an estimate the same day for that work. the individual who inspected my house was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about home construction, roofing, and about how water and moisture can penetrate different areas of the home. We have a home with a large roof and multiple peaks, variable slopes and even a flat roof over a large portion of the main section of the house. Actually six separate roofs make up entire house. Due to a combination of old age and wind damage from the recent hurricane several sections of shingle were blown off. We were experiencing water damage through the ceiling in our family room. We called Kelbie for an estimate. After inspection we were informed that the water damage inside the house was from flashing around the chimney being bent up during the storms. We were given an option to repair or replace. The estimate to replace the roofs with proper membrane on the flat roof and architectural shingles on the rest of the roof was in line with previous estimates I had received, however, in addition to the roof replacement we were offered new gutters with leaf covers, repair of the damage inside the house, power wash of the outside of the house, and repair and cleaning of our very large deck and small deck. We accepted and by the next day Kelbie had sent a crew to do a temporary fix of the flashing and apply a protective tarp to stop water from entering the house. This was a courtesy and very much appreciated as we were experiencing substantial downpours and had to wait for dry weather to do the roof work. Crews worked on each roof section, stripping it completely, repairing the wood underneath, and doing a great job to add a new roof with all the underlayment, flashing, ice guard etc. It took far longer than I expected, but the crews could not work any faster due to the weather. At no time did they ever leave any section of the roof exposed during the bad weather. The finished roof looks fantastic. My next door neighbor has made a point to tell me how great it looks. Upon completion of the roof the crews cleaned up the yard and put all waste in a dumpster trailer. They then power washed the house and the decks. They replaced bad boards in the decks and then coated them with sealer. Inside the house, the ceiling was repaired like new. Difficult with an old textured ceiling. Kelbie did everything promised and a little more. My only advice to others is to think more about things attached to the roof. We had a satellite dish, retractable awning and weather vane. Kelbie removed them to replace the roof and was prepared to put them back but after discussions with Kelbie and the original installers we decided to have the original vendors do the reinstallation. This has to do with warranties and guarantees and the like. I should have done more research on this before entering into a contract. Fortunately, because it was related to the hurricane the vendors had special programs just for this and Kelbie contributed toward the reinstallation, the extra cost was minimal.

He came out and didn't even go on top of my roof to inspect it. His ladder was on top of his truck the whole time. Water had been coming in my house already so I assumed he would know how to fix the leak. He never fixed anything and said I needed a whole new roof for $16,500. How could he know we needed a whole new roof without even getting up on the roof? My mother's insurance company came out a week or so later and they said we didn't need a new roof. He showed me a couple areas that Kelbie Home Improvement should have fixed according to the Big Deal, which they didn't. I had another roofer come out and check the flashing around the chimney which needs to be fixed. I don't the the Big Deal offer was executed like it says it would be. If it was done, the minor things that should have been done, would be done.

I scheduled the visit for Tuesday morning at 8 AM. My wife waited for him, and after he was an hour late, I emailed him and called his office. He emailed and said traffic was bad and he would be late. My wife had to leave for work, so he came with no one home, at 1030 AM. He then walked the roof and took pictures, and said the roof was in "tip top condition." I mentioned to him that I had seen a deal on his site for $199 house pressure washing and asked him if he could do it too. He said he would look at the house and tell me. Mike texted me with the pictures and recommendationis for work he felt needed done. He emailed from his iPhone "the gutters need to be cleaned repair end caps of the gutters are leaking need to be resealed the little roof over the front door needs to have 2 small gutters and downspouts installed on the sides left in right of the door to prevent the wood from going bad the siding on the house could use a power wash the front windows on the brick needs be recaulk around the windows would you be interested in an estimate for these items." He then emailed the following estimate: "The gutter cover protection will run $1200 .00 dollars to install the sure flow gutter cover system power washing of the house will run you $350 .00 dollars repairs of the seams on the gutters and to tighten them up and get them ready for the winter will be $375 the caulking of the windows on the front brick wall will be $40.oo a window install 2 new gutters on front door with down spout same color for $290.00 you have the package deal for $2100.00." The gutters that he was referring to are about 20 feet long, and he never mentioned the "gutter cover protection." We thanked him and said we could not do it all right now, but were interested in the siding pressure spray deal he had advertised, but he claimed he did not know anything about that until I referred him to your page. Then he claimed my house was too big, and he could only do it for $350, but also do the gutter cleaning for the same price. On Friday at 11 AM he emailed me and said he had a team in my neighborhood, and could come over right away. I asked again if we could get the Angies List deal, and he said no, but would also do the gutter cleaning and brick front cleaning as well. At 4 PM, his crew contacted me and said they would be right over to clean the house in a few minutes. I asked how long it would take, because we were entertaining guests that evening. He said he didn't know, but would call me and tell me after he got to the house. At 4:45 PM, his crew called and said it would take a while, but he could hurry and get it done in an hour. I told him I was paying $350 for the cleaning and I hoped for that money it would take a lot longer than an hour. He said he could start right away, but would have to return the next day and finish. He also said I would have to leave a check or he could not come back. I asked him what technique he was using to do the brick front, and he said just water, and then bleach on the siding. I have had this done before, and this did not seem right, so I told him I thought that was not much for $350. He said "that is the price." "If you don't agree, we have to pack up and leave." I said Ok, and told him we did not not want the service.Within a few minutes I got the following rambling text from Mike: "sir why did you waste my time and tell me you wanted me to power wash your house an clean the gutters out and then once my man got out there to do it you started gone and haggle in about the price I like come from your word is your bond hang you sent me an email saying yes you agree and then once we got out there you decided that you thought that we would he was paying too much ?what seems to be the problem I thought everything was cut and dry if you had no intentions of using our services you shoulda let me known and then I could I sent them to go do another job now you cost me money 149 dollars that you paid to angie's list was for an inspection and maintenance package it had nothing to do with anything else that we do for you on your home in just for your information I'm gonna forward you my cut off that 149 package which is a big 0 from angies list angies list it's 100 percent of the 149 we are you discuss the price I don't know why you were discussin price with the man I sent out there to do the work I thought we had an agreement but I guess not so thank you so much for the opportunity but I'm going to pass" I emailed Mike immediately and asked him to call me, since his emails were untiligible. He refused and began emailing and texting random bible verses and quotes and told us never to refer to him to anyone. Which we will not.

It was a tough time with all the rain during the month of September, but they saw it through and finished the job as promised. What more could you ask for.

He was held up because of the rain. They even washed out my gutters with power spray. I appreciated that as well. I might think about using them again in the future because it was more expensive than I thought.

Mike Kelbie, came over did an assessment of my roof and gutters and immediately found the problems. Although it was raining the next day he had his team to arrive and complete the repairs to my roof. That's what I call fast service. I could tell the difference right away with the way the rain going into the gutters.

The crew arrived in the afternoon and began the work of cleaning. They were very professional and efficient. They had to return a second time to finish up some small areas that could not be cleaned the first day due to darkness.

Before the repair we had one area of water damage inside the house and we couldn't figure out where the water was entering from the roof. Only time will tell if this was fixed and with the predicted rain for the next few days, we should know shortly if this was not repaired. I will post a follow-up if it turns out the maintenance done yesterday did not fix this leak.

The owner came to my home as scheduled based on an Angie's List Special offer. He did an assessment of the roof based on the offer. His recommendations were clearly stated.

Gutter guard companies are not fun to deal with, in general. I've talked to several and they all do high-pitch sales and I don't trust any of them. We were thrilled when Angie's List offered a Big Deal for gutter cleaning and gutter guards. The Big Deal assured us they were highly rated and that we would save a significant amount of money. After we bought the Big Deal, I contacted Mr. Kelbie who quickly got back to us to set up an appointment for the service. On the day of the appointment, his crew was running late and he called to tell me, which is all I expect. Very nice employees, including Rey Morataya, arrived to do the work. They were very pleasant and professional. We purchased 100 ft through the Big Deal and it turns out we needed to purchase an additional 57 ft, which was at full price. The Big Deal was 50% off, I believe, so 100ft was priced at $600 and we had to pay an additional $600 for the additional 57 ft we needed. They installed a few down spouts and also showed me (and fixed) caulking that was missing. The gutter guards themselves are metal and look a little flimsy, although I am not experienced in the matter. I am trusting that these will be durable and do their job for a long time. With the last significant rain, I was so pleased that instead of water pouring down the side of our house because of full gutters, everything was working smoothly.

Following the earthquake/hurricane combined event we recently experienced, both my home and a rental property began leaking with any moderate to heavy rain. One property was a semi slopped membrane roof and the other was a 40 foot sloped shingle roof. After purchasing the Angie Big Deal for a roofing inspection, Mike promptly contacted me and was very flexible working me into his busy scheduled to complete the inspection. He was very patient with me as I stressed to him over all the bowls and bucket I had to use while, I'm sure, he was hearing this same sad story from many others. His roof inspection included the delivery of pictures which helped me understand the specific cause of my leaks. Where Mike showed his true professionalism was when it came to pricing the job. After I explained my financial limits for both roofing jobs, he found an effective and professional solution. On the day of the job, he and his team show up on time at both properties, applied a new membrane roof at one property and installed new shingles and flashings at the other. The work was completed thoroughly and professionally the same day professionally leaving both my tenants and me very happy and relaxed during the rain. Thanks Mike!!!

This was the 2nd time we used Kelbie roofing for services. The first time we used them for a Big Deal coupon, I wasn't sold on the company given a few small things that occurred. However, they gave us the best option and price for the work that needed to be done on our flat roof, so I decided to give them a second chance. The existing flat roof we had on our house had been done incorrectly - the seams were done vertially and not horizontally, which ended up causing cracks and leakage. Kelbie gave us an estimate for both a totally new roof and for an overlay. He said that the existing infrastructure was solid, so he didn't see a need for an entirely new roof, but suggested an overlay (in the proper horizontal seaming direction) along with new flashing on the main roof and porch roof. This was well under half of a new roof cost, so we decided to go with this option. We had the appointment scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11. While it wasn't necessary for anybody to be home for the work to be done, we preferred that somebody be there just in case. I received an email at 11pm Wed. Nov. 9 from Kelbie saying they had been there that day and had done the job and sent photos of the work. At first I was upset that we hadn't been contacted at all for the change in schedule, but after I calmed down a bit I figured, well, the work is done, it looks good and we didn't even notice that the crew had been there, so I supposed that is a positive thing. Mike Kelbie came out that Saturday morning and took my boyfriend up on the roof to look at the work and it was very professionally done. We had rain that previous day and the leaking down on to the porch was competely fixed. And now our roof is lighter in color (silver, not black) and will reflect some of the heat also. All said and done, while I wasn't totally sold on the communication issue, I would use Kelbie roofing again and recommend them to somebody who needs work done. You do get personal service and everything is explained professionally and guaranteed also.

They were very enthusiastic. The crew leader was courteous and honest.

Technician did a lousy job installing the electricity to the fan. Attic Fan died after 1 season. GAF sent me a replacment motor and thermostat, but Kelbe would not install and file claim to mfg. It is hard to get a hold of any employee and if you do they don't want to help. Avoid this company and go with S&K Roofing. Kelbie roofing is too expensive.

They were supposed to come out originally on 8/31 and said they would be here between 9am-12pm, but no one showed. I called and left a message. He called back and said they were booked because of Hurricane Irene. I was upset that no one called to cancel, as I just waited around all morning for them. Mr. Kelbie himself said he would personally come out on 9/10 and do the work. I've waited all morning and again no one has showed up. I called him and I'm not sure who I spoke to, but I inquired about what had happened and there was absolutely no response on the other line. I asked, "Are you there?" And he just said, "Yeah." I told him I wanted to cancel the service since this is the second time they didn't show up with no notice, and he just hung up on me.
