They installed gutter guards all around my home. It was not exactly what I thought it would be but it works fine. They were very responsive and easy to get a hold of. They showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently.

Mike from Kelbie Home Improvement came out, initially, to look at our gutters. We had a problem with over flowing gutters and needed to see if they were dirty or needed repairs. Turns out they were just dirty. Even though this was just an inspection Mike went ahead and cleaned the gutters for us anyways. Kelbie Home Improvement performs many different skills around the house and as a result they will be coming back tomorrow to do some roof preventative maintenance and re-caulking of our windows, which are starting to crack at the seams. While they are here Mike will have his guys clean the gutters in the back of the house at no extra charge! He was also nice enough to throw in a cover for our front gutter as well. We will have him back in a few weeks to replace our shutters that flew off in a recent storm. Mike was very nice and very professional and I forse a lot of repeat business as we continue to get our house in shape.

Mike Kelbie, the owner of the company is a true professional and deserves your business. He cleaned up a rather messy situation created by his brother, who originally did the work for me. I am happy with the workmanship and quality.

Due to a few leaks, and shingles starting to fly off the roof, it was time to replace. Rey, from Kelbie, came out to inspect the roof (and also to repair a leak from one of the Angie's List specials) on 2/28/12. He was very friendly & professional and described in detail what the work would consist of. Even though it wasn't the lowest price I could get, I trusted the reviews on Angie's List and I was convinced they would do quality work. The crew showed up around 6:30 am on 3/8/12, which surprised my wife (I had to leave for work early that day). Even though I had been communicating with the owner, Mike Kelbie, through my Yahoo email, he sent an email to my Hotmail (junk mail) account the night before to let us know they'd be out the following morning (I have no idea how he got my Hotmail email). Well, I didn't see his email. I guess, I figured, someone would leave a voice message at least a day ahead of time. It was nice that they came out quickly to do the job, but I would try to smooth out the communication a bit. Maybe he could hire a virtual assistant to coordinate scheduling? I got the impression that they were very busy and it was hard for them to keep up with communicating clearly with the customers. They finished most of the job around 7 pm that evening. The crew was headed by Nestor, who was a great guy to work with (especially when I handed him the checks-just kidding). They had run out of shingles and had to finish the following day. Unfortunately, since we didn't know they were coming ahead of time, my wife's car was blocked in the driveway for 3 days but we managed to work around it. The crew did an excellent job. Worked really hard to get it done. Great work ethic. The roof looks beautiful. They cleaned everything up, despite the strong winds on those days. They installed the gutters and downspouts at cost, I should mention. Also, Nestor removed a kitchen island, for my wife, at no extra charge.

I found Mike's company on Angies list and had a coupon for Gutter cleaning. I emailed him and got a reply within minutes. We then emailed back and forth a few more times, he also pressure washed a side of the house. I have never had such a quick response for gutter cleaning! I will use him again!!

Mike and his crew were punctual, worked quickly, and cleaned up everything when they were done. We are very pleased with quality of the materials installed by Kelbie. Thank you to Angie's list for providing a Big Deal from a quality contractor as Kelbie Home Improvement.

I emailed Mike Kelbie for an estimate on my roof, he called me back within minutes of my email, by the next day he had put together a detailed estimate for replacing my roof, the price was very good. I decided to put off the project till next yr. I will contact Mike again when we do decide to start the project. Thanks for being so responsive to my request.

On Wednesday, February 29, I called Angie's List, PG County, Maryland, area and I believe I spoke to Katie because I had questions as to whether or not Kelbie serviced my area of District Heights, Maryland. I was interested in having a portion of my gutter cleaned since there was a special of $95.00. Because I had a few questions, I was told I could call the company directly. Because the ad mentioned "40% off a Shur-Flo leaf guard or gutter" I wanted to discuss that offer (note: back in 2011 during the very bad snow storm, a portion of my leaf guard came down) and I wanted to get an idea of the cost to get that portion replaced. Also, I did not need to get a complete gutter cleaning because I do have the leaf guard on the gutter; however, I expected to pay the full cost and did. Also, I inquired of Katie (I believe that is who I spoke with) as to any specials on power washing and was told that this company also does power washing and they had a special of $199.00. I called the company and Mr. Kelbie called me back onf 2/29. We agreed to Thursday, March 15 at 9 a.m. for the technician to come out to do the gutter cleaning and the power washing. ALL DID NOT GO WELL! No one called before 3/15 to confirm the date and time (which was okay but not good business practice); on the 15th, 9 a.m. came and I waited (because I know little things can happen) and waited and waited. By 10:50 a.m., no one had come and no one had called, so I called the company. Mr. Kelbie called me back by 11:08 a.m. and said he would check with his technicial and call me back. By 12:08 p.m., I had not received that call back from Mr. Kelbie so I call the office again and cancelled. He called and said that the time he had given me was between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. I told him that was not true and he mentioned that people always want something for nothing. I told him I know I had not agreed to someone arriving as late as 12 noon. (For the record, I pick my great-granddaughter up on most Thursdays at 3:00, so I know I would not have commit myself to anything as late as 12 noon for arrival. On my calendar I had 9:00 - 10:00 arrival). I reminded him that he was the person who offered the deal to Angie's List, I just happened to see it. He was rather rude; I asked him to reimburse my money ($199.00 and $95.00) and he has. I really wanted to get the work done. However, I believe Mr. Kelbie was very unprofessional and rude; and I told him so.

They did a good job but I thought the price was very high.

My original appointment was scheduled for what turned out to be a very rainy day, and Mike emailed me right away to reschedule. He was flexible about waiting until the next Saturday when I could be home. This service call went very well. Rey M. was right on time and very professional. He and a colleague performed the inspection and did all required maintenance work such as sealing and caulking. He showed me detailed digital photos that they took of areas of concern and of the work that they did. He did not try to pressure me to perform additional work. I was very pleased with this service.

I contacted Mike via email after I purchased the "deal". We communicated almost entirely via email until the job was done - which worked out well for me. After the job was done, he followed up to see if there were any problems.

We purchased the roof through one of Angie's Big Deals -- the work was good -- our only complaint would be the lack of communication as to when they are coming -- they just show up. When Mike came to look at the roof, he convinced us to paint the house, and replace the shutters and install the gutter guards -- we are pleased with the work -- the house looks great.

Mateirlas delivered one day and work crew appeared early the following morning and completed the entire job by late afternoon. Work crew very good in terms of getting the job done and cleaned up all the old roofing materials. "Dumster" was removed early on the following Monday (roofing job done on Friday). No complaints on the workrs nor their effortss.

Punctual, friendly, and exceptional service. Provided comprehensive details about condition of roof, completed work within budget, and did not try to sell me services that I didn't need. I was very impressed with Mr. Mike Kelbie and would recommend him without hesitation. Nice work at a great price, and great folks.

Mike Kelbie called the day before are appointment to tell me he would be out in the morning.He arrived at 10:00am.I showed him in my house where the water comes in around the chimney on my porch.He got on the roof and found areas that needed repair. He repaired the areas.I found Mike to be very professional and polite.He suggested gutter guard he noticed debris in gutter and quoted me a very good price.I would recommend KELBIE HOME IMPROVEMENT to my friends and family anyday.I will be using them again.Very happy with the service.:-)

I have called them 8 times in the span of a week and not spoken to anyone in the company, nor has any called me back. I got a refund on my Big Deal and will never use this company. If I could rate them lower than an F I would

Overall I would give Kelbie Home Improvement a "B". The quality of the work was pretty good. They were professional and on time. I would use them again in the future.

We purchased our roofing through an Angie's list "the big deal" and got great price on a terrific roof. Mr. Kelby had a crew come to our house, measure our roof and they provided a cost for the amount above the purchased 20 squares. Several of the pipe boots had rotted away so they resealed them so wouldn't have any leaks while we waited to get on the schedule. We had to wait approximately 8 weeks until there previously booked jobs were exhausted but the wait was worth it. Shingles showed up and were on the roof on Friday andTuesday a crew showed up after I had left for work and were just cleaning up as I arrived home. I pointed out one issue to Mr. Kelby that evening and the next day it was corrected! A very good experience all around.

Mike met with me to provide an estimate on replacing the roof. He made suggestions for additional upgrades. His crew took care of the roof, gutters, and shutters in a total of three days. I'm very satisfied with the completed work.

Started with an initial visit from Mike Kelbie who went on the roof to see what needed to be done. At that time, Mike presented us with an estimate that included the Angie's List deal and covered any additional costs or work that needed to be done. They had several customers during this period of time plus the holidays occurring, consequently since I hadn't received the phone call back as promised, I had to call in to find out where we fell on the list of jobs. However, I received an immediate call back after my calls. Day Before: When they were ready to start the work, Mike gave me a call the day before to let us know and also to say he was dropping off the clean up trailer and give me a heads up that the roof tiles were due to be delivered (which would be left on the roof of the house). Day of Work: The crew, about 8 guys, arrived before 7:30am, started prepping the perimeter of the house and setting up ladders, equipment and products for the job. Crew started tearing off the old tiles and pushing them over the sides of the house. Initially one crew member was on the ground picking up debris. Once all the old roofing materials were gone from the roof, two crew members then continued the clean up while the others guys topside worked simultaneously on different parts of the roof, fixing, installing flashing and roof tiles. The orchestrated effort had everyone finishing up around the same time, clearly the crew was experienced and organized. The work was completed perhaps just after 2:30pm. Day After: Mike Kelbie called with a heads up, saying he was on his way to pick up the clean up trailer. It was a quick pick up. And we now have a lovely new roof!

We puchased a winterization package. When I called to make the appointment I asked if we needed to have our new siding done before or after the winterization. He said it didn't matter, but wanted to provide us a quote on the siding. He never did the quote and we contracted with another company. He showed up on our doorstep on the 23rd looking disheveled and wanting to know if we still wanted a siding quote. When we said no, he said his crew would return later in the day to complete the job. When they showed up, they indicated that our front window would count as two windows for the package we purchased. Although it is a large window with a divider, it is no larger than a sliding glass door style window, which would have counted as one. Additionally, based on the package write up for the deal of the day, it seemed as though they would be doing a bit more than just caulking around the windows. However, that is all they did, and on some windows that were supposed to be "winterized" we can't even find evidence that they were caulked. So, we ended up paying $139 to have maybe since we aren't sure, had our windows caulked. Furthermore, caulk drips were left on our front deck. Overall this was a lousy experience with what appeared to be an unprofessional contractor.

I spoke with owner Mike Kelbie, who was friendly , but insistent on doing things his way. The work was done in November, before it could be tested by winter or summer weather, but after two months all work done is performing well, and looks great. My project crew chief was excellent, and the work crew seemed to do their work well as far as this non-expert can tell. The company offers a 10 -year guarantee on labor and material, and Mr. Kelbie assured me they would fix any problems that might come up in he future. They were also willing to change some details of the job at my request, such as adding a metal strip under the shingles to help keep off future house paint. The post project clean up was good, though I did have to pick up some missed items. This company requires two thirds payment in advance of the start of work, and the remaining balance at completion. It was my understanding ,and the offer of other companies I checked, that only one third is normally required to start and perhaps the second third when half completed. The Kelbie payment requirement is clearly stated in the contract; and the owner was unwilling to change it to one third only at the start of work as I requested At this early stage I am well satisfied with the roofing work done, and recommend Kelbie to others.

I contacted Mr. Kelbie requesting a roof replacement quote when my roof began leaking after the storms our area had in August/September. I had received a couple quotes from other companies and Mr. Kelbie had the best cost quote and also offered to cover the roof with a tarp until he had time to schedule my project. The project itself took about 2 months to complete which was partly due to the amount of jobs that came up since we had so much rain in a short amount of time. There was an issue regarding the Big Deal I purchased, however it was resolved. Overall the experience was positive and would recommend this contractor.

Mike Kelbie responded quite rapidly to my signing for the deal. Actually having someone come out to do the inspection proved cumbersome. Something happened with the first appt. where his crew could not make it. Then there was a problem with his trucks. Then he was on vacation. At some point I became frustrated to the point where I told Mike to forget the deal and I would request a refund from AL. Mike said he understood and would do the inspection without charge, if I would like. Lo and behold, that day, he had someone out there to do the inspection. I was at work and was unable to meet with his crew. The end result was that "everything was fine". The report consisted of showing pictures before and after blowing leaves off the roof, and one of the crew caulking some flashing. No written report detailing the condition of the roof, and no mention of the gutters, which, I assume, was a forgotten request. I considered this a less than positive experience and was glad once it was done.
