I took the Angie's List promo this company had for a roof inspection. They responded really quickly and actually came the same afternoon of when I talked to them. Impossible to gauge the quality since I did not go up on the roof with them, but given how little time they were up there (10 minutes?) I just can't see how they could have been that thorough.

I was very pleased with their work. They were quick in getting out here to do the job and they completed the entire job within 1 day. They cleaned up after themselves as well. I would recommend their services and I would use them again. I even had them back out to clean my gutters and they put on gutter guards too!

The communication was not great. I felt that I had to call them and beg them to do the work. The job stretched out for about three months. They would come, work for an hour, then disappear for a few weeks. When I would call them to come back out, they would say they were too busy but they would come out a few weeks later. I am happy with the completed work. The gutters have been working just fine. The process could have gone a lot better. Updated August 27, 2012 I received a call from the business trying to change my rating. I believe it is very inappropriate of the business to call and bully a customer in changing my response. They also was using inappropriate langauge which I was offended. I want to make sure this does not happen to any others that would use them.

Overall everything went very well. The job was started quickly and finished when the contractor said it would be finished. It was a very professional service, the contractor was very responsive, and very punctual on all matters. I leveraged an existing Angie's List coupon to receive a new roof for $2800. The remaining work (installation of a cricket, skylight, and repair of a sheet rock ceiling) was an additional $1050. I felt that this was extremely pricey for the additional work being done; however, other contractors were quoting more for the overall effort by about $600 so I went with this contractor based on the good reviews and the lowest price compared to other contractors. The quality of the work was good; however, I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the crew. When removing the skylight a large amount of debris entered my home and was left there, there was debris left in the backyard, and when installing the sheet rock there were footprints and dust left in my house. It only took me about 20 minutes to clean up after them, but I was disappointed that I had to. My other negative was that they did not perform as much drywall work as I asked, but they performed enough where I could finish the rest myself (took about an hour of my own time). There was a miscommunication in the contract and with the workers and they did not seem interested in doing more than the minimum they wanted to do. Regardless, they performed quality work and I would recommend them for anyone who needs to get a new roof on their house.

They did a good job, Ray was the crew leader and he was nice. Mike was a little hard to deal with, he was on the managing side, but Ray and his crew were good. I would at least call them in the future and price them out with someone else if I needed services they could offer.

The maintenance check did confirm that I needed a new roof. The price quoted was just under $7K. In subsequent communications with Mr. Kelbie, he stressed that I was getting a discount and other work was being included at that price. I live in a townhouse. I felt pressured into an "if you sign a contract now" type deal. I wasn't able to be home that evening so he could drive out with the contract. Lucky me. The quoted price was advertised on Angie's List as a roofing special shortly afterward.

His crews were all very professional. Once the job started, they worked right through it is done. That is, all except a couple little add on things - like a chimney cricket, painting the roof outlets (they painted these the same color as the shingles - a nice little free extra), etc. In fact, all the work was done very well. My only problem I had at all was with communications. The owner, Mike Kelbie, is so busy with all these roof deals that his calendar seems to get jumbled and so does his communications. Still all in all, I am very happy and considered this a job well done.

Very reponsive and professional services. I do plan on using their services again.

I was very pleased with Mr. Kelbie and his crew. They were punctual, efficient and polite. Small areas of concern have been fixed and I believe the elusive leak is better. Until I get a gullywasher from the NE I won't be able to tell if the leak is fixed. Mr. Kelbie is going to continue to help find the solution.

He came out to look at the roof for the Big Deal but ended up selling me a new roof. He told me that he was extending a special on the roof because I had purchased the Big Deal. He said that he would extend the Big Deal to me even though the deal expired. I had seen the deal being offered again for the same price so I felt like he was trying to deceive me with the deal. He also had a problem with the payment plan. I didn't want to use a credit card to make the payment and he was trying to get me to pay with credit card or PayPal. I refused to pay by those means. Mike's partner called me to get the final payment and I didn't know who he was so I didn't want to discuss my project. Mike was upset that I wouldn't deal with his partner. The roof is complete but dealing with the company was difficult.

It was great! From start to finish, things went smoothly and I was pleased with the work.

The job was done very well - the roof and gutters were replaced on-time and on-budget as promised. The entire job took two days, and the Kelbie Home Improvement crew were extremely efficient and professional. This is my second experience with Kelbie Home Improvement (replaced a roof at my previous residence in DC), and have not hesitated to recommend them repeatedly to friends and neighbors.

It went great overall! You can trust that Kelbie will do what they say and they are very responsive! We are thinking of doing some work to the inside of the house and one of the guys came in and gave me an idea of what needed to be done and how much he thought it would be without a charge! They also do landscaping and a lot of other things so it was great finding a company that we can trust with all the work we are looking to do. So if you need plumbing, painting, landscaping, a basement finish or a room done over they are the company to go with. They also do financing which helps out people who need to go that route!

I set up two appointments with this company to come look at my gutters for replacement. They failed to show up, or call ahead for both appointments. After the first one was missed, I called the company and the owner called me back to apologize. He said, "sorry, I should have called. I promise I won't miss our next appointment." Guess what-- he did.

The inital estimate was provided the end of March as one of the deals in a Angie's List email. Mike Kelbie came out and provided the estimate, I gave him the job. Roofing was to begin in seveal weeks. After not hearing from him for two months I sent a letter asking about the project. I received a phone call several days later with a start date for work to begin in a couple of weeks. The material showed up and a dumpter prior to the work beginning. The crew showed up on time and ready to work. Plants were covered. Roofers worked long hours and completed the job, looks great. A test of the roof came shortly there after with the windstorm that came in, trees fell but I lost no shingles and no leaks. Cleanup was good. On contacting Mr Kelbie following the job with a couple of questions he was very responsive. Aside from some early communication issues I am very satisfied and would highly recommend Kelbie Home Improvement.

I made one appointment for Kelbie to come out and give me an estimate on gutter replacement and roof repair. We scheduled an appointment for Friday morning - they never showed up or called. I e-mailed Mike to reschedule. He responded promptly, but didn't seem to recall what my job was about. He did apologize and said they were overbooked. We went over the scope of what I was looking for again and rescheduled for Monday morning at 7:30AM. They never showed up, called, e-mailed - nothing. Two mornings of arriving late to work for me to accomodate these guys. Good luck to anyone who makes an appointment!

I have nothing but great things to say about Kelbie. I contacted Mike at the very last minute to replace our roof and gutters while in town. I was working on a very short time schedule and Mike did everything possible to complete the work on time. Mike began with a quick response and bid for our roof. I will admit I originally contacted Mike regarding the Angie?s list deal but knew with our Dutch Colonial it would be well over the 2,000 sq ft. Mike sent us all the photos of our home along with the bid. We have had several roof companies provide estimates throughout the last 2 years and Mike Kelbie pricing was very competitive. Kelbie began work as soon as the contract was signed! We had Kelbie due our roof, siding, replace the skylight and attic fan, in addition to the gutters. We plan to have them return in spring for power cleaning. They were very professional from the start (Mike and the foreman). Mike and his crew are also very honest, the contract covered only a few plywood section replacements and any over the allocated limit would be charge at a set rate: well Mike called to say that not one section of plywood needed to be replaced. The best part was if there was ever a question regarding the work I received an immediate phone call to discuss the matter (there were no major issues just additional services). Furthermore, if there was any confusion Mike?s answer was ?I just want to make sure we make you happy?. Kelbie has amazing customer service. I highly recommend Kelbie. They are 75% complete with our home, the remainder will be completed tomorrow. That is very impressive considering when we signed. I post this review with absolutely certainty the Kelbie?s team will not only finish the job above my expectation but will remain a great company to work with in the future. (I post early due to travel plans ? shows my support of Mike and his team).

Overall we had a very good experience with Kelbie Home Improvement. From initial contact to expedited service, and flexibility in pricing. On the first day that we spoke he said that he had a team in the area and that he could have them over at my house the next day. The next day his crew performed all of the services that he said that they would provide. They caulked all exposed nail heads, exposed flashings and seals. While his team was up there he had them clean my gutters out free of charge. After they were done, he provided me with pictures of the work that his crew performed, and pictures of things that we may want to address in the immediate future. He located a bunch of shingles that had blown off during one of the last storms. He provided us with an estimate for state of the art shingles and shingles that would get the job done but wouldn't burn a hole in our pockets. He had a crew over at the house the next day and he replaced all the missing shingles.

It went well once I was scheduled. It seems they have a lot of business and a small staff, couple that with the fact that the weather pushed everything back--it was frustrating. So I would recommend patience during the scheduling process.

Purchased the Angie's List "Big Deal", which wasn't great, frankly. But he did give us credit towards the actual job, and the work was nicely done. Plus his price beat the other estimates, and he showed up on time and was easy to schedule.

The workers bagged up the leaves from the gutters so there was no mess in the yard and swept front porch and brushed off a few leaves on my car. They also did re-securing of gutter in several places. Best gutter cleaning service I have ever had.

Let me start off by saying that I had my first experience with Kelbie Home Improvement in March of 2011 and I posted a review that I would rehire them and I did. In March 2011 Kelbie Home Improvements replaced some damaged shingles and installed gutter guards for me. At that time Mr. Mike Kelbie informed me that I should really consider a new roof because the roof was not in the best condition and i would need shingles replaced in other areas of the roof. I explained to Mr. kelbie that I didn't expect to live in the house for too much longer and I didn't have the funds to pay for a new roof. He understood and advised he was only providing his professional opinion. He completed the job and i was very happy. During the severe rain we had earlier this summer I got a very bad leak into the ceiling of one of my bedrooms. I emailed Mike during the weekend and he replied right away and was there checking on my roof right away. He actually remembered my roof and told me that he highly recomended a new roof. He offered me a new roof with a life time warranty and as an added bonus agreed to fix the water damage inside my house caused by the leak! I am very happy with the serivce and the attention Mr. Kelbie provides to his clients. He was flexible with my schedule and was always available to answer any questions. I will and have recommended his company to others.
