Scheduled the appointment via email, but never received confirmation that my date was acceptable. On date of service, 2 folks showed up and surprised me. When I mentioned that I had never received confirmation of my appointment, I was asked if I wanted them to perform the service or not. I hope it was a miscommunication between scheduler and workers. Work was performed promptly without hassle.

They were very good. Got the job done with care and attention to details. The stains are gone and the whole house looks so much better now. While they were up on the roof, they noted a gutter that needed attention and gave us a quote to fix it. That was taken care of too. Very professional, punctual and neat.

Purchased the Big Deal roof assessment deal in the hope that Kelbie would help find a small leak in the roof that was dripping water into the kitchen. They did not find the leak but instead tried to sell me a $2000 repair or a $7000 roof. I was later able to go into the attic during a heavy rain, find the leak and fix it with a $3 tube of sealant. I really feel that all that Kelbie's staff was interested in was selling me a new roof, which I don't need yet.

Technician showed up within the timeframe the company provided, and cleared all the gutters. The reason I downgraded them on responsiveness is that I had to call more than once, was told someone would get back to me, but I had to call them back. The issue was not the worker or the work provided, but the company's scheduling workers/practices. I had the feeling that the price I paid (coupon service) negatively affected their responsiveness.

He cleaned my gutters and I will be using them again this Fall. I am also calling them this week to take another look at my roof. They sent me pictures suggesting that my roof may need repairing.

I was pleased with it. They were very nice.

They took a while to schedule. Once scheduled, they arrived on time, bright and early ready to work. They did a great job. They were very detailed in their work; they didn't let any small flaw pass them by.

it took several attempts to reach the contractor before we could schedule to roof maintence big deal. Although she had already paid the big deal price for the service, when my mother, who had just come home from the hospital, asked how much the service cost she was told it was $750 and needed to be paid before the service was performed -- the $750 amount was listed as the regular price. So in addition to the $149, I believe which she had already apid, she paid the additional $750. She was told that amount would be applied to a new roof. Later that day, we looked up the big deal

Climbed on roof and said we needed some caulking and flashing replaced. When we said we would wait on that, a "steep roof" premium was immediately applied to the already completed inspection. I spoke with the owner and things were resolved after some heated words.

We have been doing business with Mike Kelbie and his company (roofing) for at least 8 years now. We have lots of rental properties in Baltimore City, and they have been consistently providing good quality roofing installation and maintenance services through out the years. Every time we call, we get somebody comes out within in a couple of days for inspection or consultation. Price is always competitive with other roofers in the area. Every job was done in a good and workmanship-like manner. We had never had any problem with their staff and the jobs they have done for us.

The job went super once it began...again, once it began. Start date was delayed for quite awhile Great workers and superb communication with the owner (Mike) throughout

They were competent and worked on time. They did a good job and I thought the price was reasonable.

I was happy with it. He did a good job and I was happy with the work he did. I used him again for more substantial work.

Contacted Kelbie Home Improvement to schedule an estimate and Mike Kelbie quickly responded, visited the house and provided an estimate the next day. Despite their busy schedule, they were able to start the project the same day. The outside tasks began on a Friday afternoon and continued through the weekend. The inside tasks were completed in a single afternoon. Mike was excellent at maintaining communication. Since I did not want to climb the ladder to the roof, Mike provided an abundance of before, during and after photos of the work. Workers were professional and courteous. Overall, I an extremely happy with their work and I will definitely use them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. The service was good. They came on time and did good service. It wasn't spectacular or nothing out of the ordinary but they did a good job. They did what they were supposed to do. They were pretty responsive.

A little slow to get started, but the final product was outstanding!

Fair, the cost was more than I expected. The promoion was for such a small area of deck, each additional square foot was much higher than average.

They missed the original date for service. Received a phone call 2 hours after the appointment stating that they could not find the address. The tech did show up, unscheduled, two days later. I'm not sure if any inspection was done as he returned rather quickly from "checking" the roof. After the tech heard that the house was more than 10 years old, he was only interested in selling me a complete roof replacement. He would not work with me on any other options.

It went well. They were quick and they cleaned up the yard when it was finished. They got all of the nails and things from the yard. There were no issues. Their price was good and they were quick. I would use them again.

Work was fine. Guards do not perform as well as I had hoped.

Mr. Kelbie of Kelbie Home Improvement, INC, came to the house for pre-inspection of roof. He did not go up to the roof to inspect the roof, brought samples of shingles to choose from, I make the selection, we set up the date for the roofing project and I paid him one-half of the Angie's Big Deal price of $6500.00. Due to rain and family illness the start date needed to be postponed. i talked to the foreman/onsite supervisor/lead man who spoke English and asked him if I needed to remove anything from the walls or ceiling inside the house. He told me there would be no need to do that. On the day of install, the roofers started to remove the shingles and the sub-roof (plywood). The foreman/onsite supervisor/lead man informed me that the plywood should now be 1/2 in thick versus what was on the roof (3/8 in.). He informed me that for $60 per plywood they would remove the current plywood (sub-roof), purchase 1/2 in. thick plywood, deliver it to the house and install it. I had this done, since they were putting on new shingles, I did not want to go back in a few years and have the thicker sub-roof installed. When I got home from work they were almost through with the roof, which looked very nice. The foreman/onsite supervisor/lead man told me that they had to stand on the support beams to take off the old sub-roof plywood and install the new plywood. When they did this, the nails holding the sheet rock for the ceiling broke through the sheet rock to most of the areas in the living room and dinning room and to a few places in the kitchen, and three bedrooms. Additionally an antique oil lamp that was hanging from the ceiling in the living room was broken. He informed me that they would be out the next week, fill in the holes where the nails broke through the ceiling, sand the areas and patch paint the ceilings. He stated that they wanted to do it right and have a happy customer. I reminded him that I asked if I should remove anything from the ceiling or walls and he informed me no, so he had me take off a set amount of money regarding the broken lamp, until I could find a replacement price for the lamp. At that time I paid for the last half of the roofing payment plus most of the $3900.00 for the new sub-roof install. The following week I received an E-mail from Mr. Kelbie reminding me to review my contract. In the contract it states that his company is not responsible for any damage to anything inside the house, before, during, or after the install. I talked to Mr. Kelbie about what the foreman/supervisor told me before they started the roofing project and what they would do to fix the damage to the ceilings and cost for the lamp. Mr. Kelbie said that he has no responsibility for any such damage and asked me to provide in writing what the foreman/supervisor said to my wife and me. I do not recall seeing anything in the Angie's List add about potential for damages to the inside of homes when roofing is done. My neighbor had his house re-shingled a few years ago and he had no inside damage to ceilings (has same type of ceiling design as in my house). I never experienced a roofing project before and did not know what to expect. When Mr. Kelbie came to my home for the pre-inspection and ordering of the shingles, he never indicated that there is the potential for damage to the ceilings when doing the roofing. When he called me after they started to patch up the damage to the ceilings, he stated that he is not responsible for fixing up those areas and if I wanted, I could higher his team to fix the damage. He yelled at me over the phone, in front of my wife and children, yelling how he is not responsible, what do I know about roofing, and would not allow me to respond to his yelling. I again informed him about what his foreman/supervisor told my wife and me about fixing the ceilings and Mr. Kelbie continued his ranting and said he would go and get ceiling white paint and do touch-ups, but would not paint the entire ceiling for free. I informed him that the ceiling is not painted white and doing touch-up with white paint was not the answer. After his phone call with me, my wife approached Mr. Kelbie and addressed the way he talked to me over the phone and how unprofessional he was in treating the customer. At this time of the exchange, my wife paid him the money that was withheld and told him we did not need his services. I never encountered such outward, should I use the word hostility, by a contractor before this encounter with Kelbie Home Improvement, Inc. Based on my experience with Mr. Kelbie and added costs in getting the roof on (which looks very nice) and encountered the vocal hostility and belittling by Mr. Kelbie, I do not recommend his services. I trusted Angie's List and did not expect what was received through this contract.

Good service. Followed up to see if I was satisfied.

We would not refer them to anyone. They quoted a low price in the beginning. When they came, they added up the price. Mike is the manager and he was so rude. He doesn't have any good customer relations at all. The roofers did a great job and we didn't have any problem with them. The management is the one that we are talking about. He quoted us $11,000 and the final price was $18,000. They said we had to replace the plywood or the warranty wouldn't work. They did a good job on the roof. They promised they would clean all the nails and they didn't. They were supposed to give us a warranty within 16 days and I have been sending 10 emails almost every week. Finally after 90 days I sent another email and he said that the warranty had nothing to do with him and that I was harassing him. They broke my chandelier when they were doing the roof. I told the workers and Mike. Mike said that the contract said that anything that was broken on the inside was not their responsibility. He quotes very low; otherwise I would not have gone with him.

Mr. Kelbie came on time with two assistants and a long ladder. He examined the roof from outside and also entered from the attic. He pinpointed all needed upgrades and possible future problems.

Kelbie Home Improvement is way too expensive. This was a subcontractor of that company and I think because I was a lady they took advantage. What happened was the porches were in bad shape and they gave me a price on the porches at about $7000 and I ended up paying close to $21,000 to get those porches done because they tore it down if something else have needed and it was so torn down that I felt that I have to keep on trying to find money to pay them it was two guys working together and I think that they really got over and I was so upset at the end so I would never ever use them again, never for anything. They actually did a roof work for me and that was a little overpriced but they did a good job so that's why I used them again and it was just unbelievable. I was in the middle of the job so I didn't want fire them and then have somebody to come in and try to do it again because I've already paid them like half of the money and it was just awful experience it was really was. The guys were really nice and accommodating and that kind of thing but they really thought way too much money the porches on this house sounds a 100 years old. They are very small. They are not really big porches. I found out that the lumber that they used wasn’t really good lumber. They actually had put screws in and everything something that starts to come up. They didn’t stain it. They proof it but they didn’t do staining it was for the money. They should have done so much more and a lot of times when they work on this I was at work and every time I talk about that they would like I would gonna come back and will do this and do that and nothing ever you know that was awful and really bad experience. Its way overpriced, very pricey. Their responsiveness was good they were here.
