A man came out and checked our roof and found nothing wrong with it. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10, the service was a five. There wasn't much we could communicate with the men that came out. They got up on the roof and checked it all out. My husband had to call to find out that there was nothing wrong with the roof. We would not do it again. For $149, we didn't feel it was worth it. I wouldn't pay anymore than that. For two men to get on your roof for like ten minutes, walk around it, and get off, I think that's too much money. They did come in the timeframe they said that they would.

Initially, the owner had said he was going to come out and then he didn't. He had one of his associates come out and I started to lose interest. He said we needed to replace our roof. We had another company come out who indicated we only needed to replace some shingles and went with that company.

Arrived on time and provided tips for roof maintenance.

It was okay. I had to pay additional cost for the repair. We had them go ahead and do the repair because they were already there. It was an expense that we did not expect. I would consider using them again.

Called multiple times and left voice mails requesting a call back to setup a time for an appointment. Never received a call back after leaving 6-10 messages. Now the coupon has expired so I basically wasted $150 dollars on this. Request a full refund.

They were terrible. They came and inspected, and instead of fixing the part of the roof that was leaking, they put something around the pipes, and we discovered the same problem after the rains started. We called them back after that, and they came, and a couple of guys came and went up the roof, and he said that there were a couple of holes there. I told them that they came over the first time to fix the leak, and they said they wanted to see the work order. I wasn't here the first time, and the work order didn't say anything about the leak, and it only said what they fixed. Maybe my wife made a mistake not insisting they give us an estimate for the leak. They gave me a price of 450 Dollars to change 2 shingles, and if we provided the shingles, then the price would be different. I had a bundle of shingles, and he gave me a pricing form that he filled up, and gave me to sign. I didn't see anything about fixing the leak on that, it was just about changing the shingles. I told him to write there that it was about fixing the leak, so he went screaming and yelling, that I thought I was buying myself a whole new roof for 169 Dollars. I told him that I was not talking about before, I was talking about this time that they were going to work on the leak. That is why I was going to let them work. I told him that he didn't come here to fix something else, but to fix the leak. After that, I said that I didn't want to deal with them. They were not professional whatsoever, at least not when dealing with me. They came here the first time with the coupon offering, and apparently it was just for inspection, and then they charged her 400 Dollars for putting membrane on the pipe, which I don't think we needed. We fixed the problem with another company that our insurance company suggested.

I purchased a big deal coupon for this company. It did not go good. It's been over a year ago that we had that done. We were not pleased with the service at all. It wound up being more than the coupon because our roof size was bigger than the deal. The issue was the service itself. It was delayed for several times, he had an excuse that he was a small company and he got backed up. He came and according the foreman on the job the job was complete. My husband went up on the roof to check and it was totally done incorrectly and not finished properly. The owner of the company gave us a hard time about it. It took several phone calls and getting angry about the situation before he came and took care of it. His communication skills are lacking. He was just not a good manager of his people. The foreman said the job was complete. I gave him the final payment and then after the fact my husband found all these problems and the owner proceeded to say I didn't say the job was complete. Well his representative on site said that and that's why we paid. We really did not have a good experience.

Very punctual, professional, and really kind. I guess they could have called it quits when I thought I had gotten what I had paid for but they noticed othr areas that could use a wash and I said I didn't want t pay for any more but thanked them anyway. They said it wasn't a problem because I hadn't exceeded the original amount. We laughed and I said then yes, and started pointing out other areas as well. I told them to stop when they got to "$198" and they did stop after getting all of the areas done that together we had pointed out. And I didn't have a small house, it was a 4400 square foot two story colonial. Sorry for the delay in reviewing their performance!

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They did okay on the roof, but the chimney did not turn out to my satisfaction. I think they were expensive. It took almost a year to get the warranty from them for the roof. They came when they were supposed to.

Mr. Kelbie and an assistant arrived within two days to assess the problems. They recommended replacing the two sky lights and installed additional calking around the sky lights and chimney. They also cleaned the gutters and evaluated the entire roof for potential repair. The roof was found to be in sound condition.

I was not particularly satisfied with their work and this company that came to clean the gutters said they didn't even install the right style of gutter guards and obviously they weren't even doing the job at the time we put the gutter guards on. Kelbie Home Improvement Inc said "They don't even need cleaning, if they ever need cleaning, we will do it for you." For the first time they came they wanted $100 but the second time they came they wanted $150, the third time they came they wanted even more. I don't remember what it was the third time and then when they installed it the water would go washing off the roof and go flying beyond the gutters. So they came back and they trimmed the gutter guards which pauses why they are not working now because there is big gap that leads go into. And then the second thing they did was a water outlet from the air conditioner that puts the vapor into the gutter and instead of making room for that and putting the pipe into the gutter they just simply covered the pipe up so that the water was all backing up into attic and I had to call them back to redo that. So all in all the Kelbie company gave us a lot more trouble than what this recent company did.

They did an excellent job. We will definitely have them back again.

I have used Kelbie Home Improvement three times in the past 6-9 months and have been completely satisfied each and every time. Our rental property in Baltimore City required a cornice on the front, roof repairs and caulking around the exterior foundation. Mr. Kelbie was extremely responsive, provided fair and reasonable quotes, and completed the task as promised. He is reliable and will be recommended to the buyers of our investment property.

Repairs were sub par. Owner was not very customer oriented. Was done over 1 year ago. DOn't remember the price. Several details were left unfinished.

We first were drawn to this contractor because of all the positive Angie's List reviews. Several of the reviewers menioned M. Kelbie's professionalism, or lack thereof, yet most seemed pleased with the work, and his overall rating was good. OUR EXPERIENCE: There are two side of the coin here: 1) The owner and 2) The actual folks who do the work. In our case, it was his employees that saved the day. Mr. Kelbie showed us zero professionalism. From showing up late, to his choice of words (I had to send my kids from the room!), to flat out lying, Mr. Kelbie was a hot mess. He was disorganized and rude to us. After paying for the entire roof upfront, we were told that we were 3rd in line to have our roof completed. More than a month later, we were still waiting. He continually mentioned that the hassles we encountered were due to his very low price, however, we had three other estimates that were very much in line with his price to us. There were mix-ups, and excuses, but we finally ended up with a nice roof. HIS EMPLOYEES on the other hand, showed up on time, introduced themsleves, and worked very hard to do a good job and exceed our expectations. He recommended an insulation company that we were thrilled with, and his workers were excellent. Honestly, if Mr. Kelbie could stay out of his own way, I think the company could do well for itself.

I'm not really sure if they did the job. I asked the company to only show up when I was at home and they showed up when I wasn't at home. I also asked them to show me evidence like photos or a video of the work that was done and the guy supposedly sent it but I was unable to see anything other than a photo that could have been anyone's roof. If they can't listen to the customer and abide by what the customer wants then I won't do business with them again.

Mr. Kelbie was a challenge to speak with. Whoever answers the phone was very good about forwarding my call to Mike and/or informing me that it may take 3-4 days for a call back. However, e-mail communication seems to work the best. After a month and a half we connected, set a date and Kelbie Home Improvements came out and cleaned my gutters. I wasn't home but I trust the work was done because of Kelbie's report on the condition of my roof, something he could only know from being on it.

Overall it went well. They didn't start on the day they said they would, but they did a good job overall. There were a few small issues (some holes left in the gutter attachment and some small issues with the porch roof that he had to come back and fix. He forgot about coming back so we had to remind him, but it was finished finally. It was a fair price and they added in some extra stuff that would have been a pain for us- like scraping and painting along a small portion of the front of the house.

I have anguished for a year about reviewing this. I have given a C rating because part was a good experience and part was not. The men who actually did the work were pleasant, responsible and did good work. The quality of the roofing materials is as expected and there have been no problems with the roof during the past year. The problems came from dealing with the owner. In the first place, I felt I was number 21 on a list of 20 things he was thinking about. He did eventually get around to my job but only after several delays. Perhaps the popularity of his Big Deal provided more work than his company could handle. The second problem was the final price. I knew I would pay more than the Big Deal price because my job was more square feet than the Deal covered. Also, I knew the Deal specified some replacement underlayment but additional boards would be an additional charge. When Mr. Kelbie came to the house to do the estimate he made no additional comment on the subject. But the workers, from the first moment they saw the job, knew the entire roof would require new underlayment. They could see because the underside of the porch roof was visible. There was an additional $3600 cost which had to be paid on the spot or they could not do the work. I felt if the workers saw and knew immediately, Mr. Kelbie should have seen, known and told me in advance.

They did a good job. There were no additional charges to the $198 big deal that I purchased. This was this first time I used them. The appointment was made, and they came at the time they said they would come. The power washing made a difference. They cleaned up everything. I would use them again. I have done it in the past and I thought the pricing was good.

The roof ended up costing me twice as much than I anticipated. They took off the roof then gave me the price on how much it would be to put on a new roof. They could not lock down a date to complete the work. I waited a while for them to actual schedule the work and come out to start the project. There was a lot of debris around my yard that I had to clean up after they left.

Prompt, professional and completed work in a timely fashion.

Mike from kelbie fixed my roof on Xmas Eve when I had a waterfall in my master bedroom. I called 5 different companies and he was the only one to answer the phone and actually be willing to help. He was honest, fair, and did great work. He was so good I had him put a new roof on my moms house as well.

Initially we hired them for a Big Deal on deck sealing. They did that promptly and reasonably well. At that point we discovered that they were willing to do any kind of repair or maintenance that a house might require, so we had them perform additional repairs. The replacement of the leaking roof of our shed, underneath the deck, was a job that had already been turned down by two other handyman companies. Once again the work was performed competently and reasonably promptly. I was unhappy with two aspects of the repairs, and they promptly redid those to my satisfaction. I would use Kelbie again for house repairs. My only (minor) complaint was that they were on the pricey side. That was certainly preferable to a repair company that's late or incompetent!
