We had a good experience with them. Everything they did made the experience good. They have customer service people. Your records are all electronics where you can sign in so that you can see your results and your appointments reminder. They send emails and they write you a letter, they call you with an electronic reminder and you just have to push 1 if you want to confirm and 2 if you want re-schedule. It is just a very customer service oriented place and it is extremely clean. It is very clean and everything works right. They also have an on call physician for an emergency. They also treated my mom before she died of pancreatic cancer and they took care of her very well. our family just had good rapport and experience with them.

I have a good experience with them. I don't like that I have to pay for parking at some point. Sometimes, it's a little bit difficult to get an appointment but I think they have good doctors. They have a very large facility and they're a renown hospital. I don't have anything to complain about them.
Description of Work: I go there quite often because I have a lot of health problems.

He performed and examination and did several tests but was not able to help me at all. I wouldn't fault him for that, but he was condescending and arrogant. I'd never go back to him for anything. He had an attractive female student doc with him at the time and it was almost like he was showing off as he dismissed my concerns. This all happened a few years ago but it was a bad enough experience to still bother me.

The appointment went well. The only issue was that the process of being checked in to being seen by a physician was a little slow.

Four and a half later, I am still having a great deal of problems with flexibility so I had to get a manipulation under anesthesia at Upper Chesapeake and complete a full course of physical therapy. There is a world of difference between Johns Hopkins Bayview and Upper Chesapeake as far as professionalism, knowledge, and caring. Dr. Trice has now moved to Texas and is no longer available for treatment so I am so glad I went to Upper Chesapeake. In addition, Bayview charged me over $800 for my blood that I donated for the surgery. I really did not need any blood but they told me that it was mine so I should use it. In addition, they charge for follow-up visits after surgery and no other surgeon has ever done that that I know of. John Hopkins Hospital may be an excellent hospital but I would advise everyone to stay away from Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical (not much better than the old City Hospital).
Description of Work: Office staff were not professional. I had to provide my insurance with information to have pre-authorization of my inpatient admission and surgery because the staff had not done it by one week before surgery. Dr Trice was out of town and did not provide a follow-up doctor to have my staples removed. I had to continually follow-up on trying to get new appointments when Dr. Trice was not available to see me on two scheduled appointments and refills on prescriptions. It was a nightmare all the way around.

I have an excellent primary care physician there. At Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, you're dealing with cardiologists and urologists who are really at the top of their profession. So, you know that by going into the Johns Hopkins system that, generally speaking, you're getting the top of the line. The thing that differentiates Bayview from Johns Hopkins main hospital and other hospitals around here, in my opinion, is their nursing floor care. They have very good nursing floor care at Hopkins Bayview. You get the specialist care that Johns Hopkins is worldwide famous for, plus very good, not excellent, but very good, nursing floor care.

She's real good. I have hearing aids in both ears; I had hearing aid in one ear before and she recommended a different company to use for the hearing aids. It cost considerably less than what I had paid for my original one and they worked better.

Had bariatric surgery...with a 6 month preparatory course in nutrition and weight loss management and associated post-op care. Throughout, I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. There was the usual waiting for doctors' appointments, but it was no worse, and in some cases considerably better, than I've found it to be at ANY doctor's office. Ocassional confusion about who had the paperwork now, but considering how many moving pieces had to come together for this surgery, it wasn't bad and everyone was pleasant and helpful. The medical care provided was outstanding and facilities clean, organized and pleasant.
Description of Work: Went to an information session on bariatric surgery and followed up with appointment with Dr. Hien Nguyen. Later took a 6 month weight-management and nutrition class to prepare/qualify for insurance coverage of the surgery, as well as individual appointments with the nutritionist. Underwent surgery on 4/25/12 and have had several follow-up appointments with nutritionist, surgeon's office.

I didn't actually see the doctor and the nurse practitioner saw me. It was fine. Availability was fine. Bedside manner was fine. Hospitals are not really known for their billing. I would go back to them in the future.

The EMT said i could be on the verge of having stroke or hearthacke. Took into emerency and keep in for overvation. The nurse on duty would not let me take my medication, would not let me see the doctor, gave me in proper food but then they upset when my sugar levels were high. They took something off someone elses tray came inw ith enneedles which was not necessary. I've never had an insulin needle before or since...just at Bayview because of the lack of medication and inproper food. Next day before being released a doctor finally comes to see me. It was a very unhappy experience and I do not trust them. I can take care of me better than the hospital can take care of me.
Description of Work: Taken in by ambulance because my blood pressure was extremely high.

Very kind and considerate doctor. Listens well and communicates well. He is very thorough and accurate. Lab work specimens can be taken right there at the office which is great; no trips to the hospital lab. I like the fact that he calls you at home with your lab results and discusses your concerns. He is never in a rush to get to the next patient, which I feel is extremely important since patients can forget to bring things to the doctor's attention if they feel rushed. Patient scheduling seems to be very well handled since the wait time in the office is short, despite the waiting room being often packed.

They are professional, you are treated with respect, people listen to your problems, and they are able to refer you to some really good people. I haven?t had difficulty getting an appointment and I can always keep in touch with them; if I have a particular concern I can email my doctor and he will get back to me immediately. It?s an excellent practice and a real community hospital. I feel lucky because my doctor is the director of general medicine and Johns Hopkins so he?s the one that teaches other people to be good doctors.

After a endoscopy from by another physician, I became very sick and found out my colon had been perforated and I was bleeding internally. The ER at the hospital recognized I had been a patient (very successful and happy for the record) of Dr, Schweitzer's and contacted him. He immediately took care of me, performing surgery that saved my life. He is a outstanding surgeon, professional, competent and cares about his patients. I am very grateful to him, Recommend highly!

I took my wife into the emergency room at about ten thirty at night on a weekend when my wife’s heart was going crazy. She is a retired nurse so she has a stethoscope at the house and her heart was registering at 176 beats per minute. She has never had a problem like this in the past so being the ex-nurse that she is she thought it would be wise to go into the emergency room. There is a hospital right around the corner from our home, but we chose to drive twenty minutes to Johns Hopkins instead. I walked into the emergency room which was busy, there were a lot of people in the room already, I went up to the front desk and said that I thought we had a cardiac patient and her heart rate was 176 at home. Before I could even stop talking the triage nurse had come out. They put my wife on a stretcher, starting hooking up IV’s and starting pumping medications into her to slow her heart beat. It was that fast. It was awesome. This is not my first experience with Johns Hopkins, which is why we decided to go with them again for my wife. About six months ago my son, a police officer, was doubled over in pain with what was suspected to be kidney stones and it was the same kind of scenario. The triage nurse saw the pain that my son was in to the point of having tears in his eyes and again he was immediately on a stretcher. They rolled him back into a room, IV’s on and medications for pain. They are just phenomenal. The doctors and nurses are all great there.
Description of Work: I have recently taken my wife to the emergency room at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital. We have had other experiences with them in the past.
