Mr. Jensen is a real professional. He comes on time and he gets the job done. If something isn't quite right, he will fix it. And best of all, he keeps an immaculate job site.

These guys were totally unprofessional. They asked me to provide my own drop cloths, they still got dust and drywall everywhere, and did a VERY shabby job of cleaning up. I had to wash everything in the house after they left. The worst part though was that they left the house much worse than when they came. As soon as they left, I noticed that now the toilet was leaking into the kitchen, as was the bathroom sink. The bathtub was also leaking, and two of the pipes they'd just installed in the basement were leaking. They didn't return my calls about this until the next day. When they did return the next day, they were very grumpy and denied that the leaks had anything to do with what they'd done. Their arguments were that the leaks from the bathroom were "pre-existing"-- which maybe they were, but THAT WAS WHY I CALLED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE-- BECAUSE I HAD PRE-EXISTING LEAKS. You don't just call a plumber to replace pipes that are fine. So from my perspective, some of the leaks were pre-exisiting, and these guys failed to fix them. However, at least one of the leaks was definitely not pre-exisitng, as it was in a spot where any pre-exisitng leak would have been obvious. Not only that, they refused to even go into the basement to see the leaks from the pipes they'd just installed. They "tightened some things up" in the bathroom, which made the leaks less severe, but didn't completely fix them. They kept telling me that I "don't understand how plumbing works." That may be true, but that's why I called a professional plumber. Even without understanding much about plumbing, I do understand that pipes aren't supposed to leak. When I finally got a hold of them on the third day, Chris' response was "how much of a leak are we talking about?" BUT IT SHOULDN'T MATTER. ANY LEAK IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, ESPECIALLY $1,500 LATER. He then told me he was "starting to get p***** off" and wasn't going to "be able to be nice much longer." Also, one of the holes they drilled into my bathroom's tile floor was too big to be covered by the piece of chrome they put over it, leaving a jagged and unsightly edge in the tile. I should also add that he whistled at my roommate when she came down the stairs wearing a dress, and asked her if she was going out on a date. This was by far the worst experience I have had with any kind of home repairs. I would caution anyone to stay far away from these guys.
Description of Work: I had an old pipe that was leaking into my basement. Chris came and looked at everything and said that they'd need to rip out all of the old galvanized pipe and replace it with new copper. I'd asked him to come look at everything as a second opinion, since I'd already had one guy give me an estimate. Since his assessment was the same as the first one, and he was from the neighborhood, I went with him. I really wish I hadn't. They took out a bunch of old pipes and replaced them with new copper.

Description of Work: I called Jensen Plumbing based on neighbors' high recommendations, to replace the insides of a toilet, the valve on the toilet's water supply, and to repair or replace my basement sump pump. It took about 2 weeks to arrange a time for them to come to my house, in part because (Mr Jensen said) they were busy and so could not return my calls right away and in part because I was not at my phone when they did call. Chris Jensen is highly skilled, and very nice, professional and prompt, and a bit of a character as well. He brought along an apprentice who was also pleasant and professional . They explained things I was curious about, replaced the "innards" of the old toilet, replaced the failing external valve, and tried to fix the sump pump before declaring it in need of replacement. They then purchased the pump, improved its piping while they reinstalled it, and offered to replace a partly clogged shower head in my basement bathroom (discovered when turning it on to drain the pipes) for free with a used but better one he had in the truck (which I accepted, 3 min job). All in all inspired confidence and I am considering hiring him/them for my water heater replacement in the future.

Description of Work: Chris Jensen showed up promptly and if the problem hadn't been resolved by the simple expediency of removing the shower head and cleaning the screen I am sure he would have solved it equally expeditously. I would definitely give him another try.

Estimate was roughly same as other companies; City Paper's Best of Baltimore plumber (Huh?!). Somewhat careless and sloppy style; told 'em I could move antique sofa in basement, was told not to worry: permanently stained. Cut electric line while working (and repaired). Created two leaks in basements (toilet and sink). Took several visits to make upstairs Sloane toilet flush; only slightly improved, but started to leak (3rd leak), as well. Later found that one joint in basement was only butted, not lapped, when I dropped something on outdoor faucet and the joint broke, basement got a good watering, and I soldered it myself.
Description of Work: Replace all basement pipes (horizontal) with copper (B'more 3 BR, 1 BA, 1 flush rowhouse). Work on Sloane valve toilet. New fixture in utility sink.

Work required not one but two plumbers in the following years to fix mistakes that left toilets leaking not just onto bathroom floor, which was quickly repaired, but into ceiling below, which wasn't discovered for a while and resulted in much bigger problems. Initially pleasant, plumber quickly turned surly when asked to fix even initial mistake.
Description of Work: New toilets installed in old home.
