Hunny Do LLC

Bruce contacted me right away after I purchased his Angie's List Deal. When we set up a date & time, he asked me to send him a list of what I needed done. On the actual day he was running a bit late but contacted me to let me know. He arrived with a co-worker (Tom?) and they went to work right away. I liked that they had tee shirts with the logo, and their truck was marked as well. There was a problem with the p-trap under the kitchen sink and Bruce had to go to Home Depot to get a new one, and wound up rigging up a configuration for the drain, as what had been there was no longer available. I appreciated that both men were very polite and respectful and honest.

It is difficult to write an unfavorable review for someone that I like, but Bruce Stevenson of Hunny Do disappointed me. I found his previous work to be good and him to be interested in his work, pleasant and professional--overall an old school trades gentleman. I wanted to have a years long relationship with this company, to call upon Bruce as my go to person for most repairs in my house. We even spoke of how important it is for me to deal with people who show up when they are supposed to and do good work, in other words for one to act responsibly. This job was basically Bruce's as I wasn't even planning on getting other estimates. Unfortunately, he lost this job and many years worth of future jobs from me by not providing the estimate or offering any explanation to me that there might be a delay. There will be zero Hunny Do, LLC projects in my future.

Must be too busy to schedule time for an estimate. Could have said I am busy and not doing any estimates. As I called on a cell and texted the address had phone number to contact me.

Responded promptly to my request for an estimate. Mr. Stevenson was very knowledge about changing the lock on my French doors so that only one key would be needed for the other doors as well. He also replaced a broken latch on my outdoor gate and tried to re-hang existing bi-fold doors to laundry closet. Unfortunately, due to my lack of measuring capabilities, it didn't quite work out as planned. Thank goodness for his expertise. He came up with a Plan B. He made time to fit me into his schedule before leaving for vacation so that the most pressing items could be completed. Very patient and professional throughout the entire process. Will definitely call again for other projects.

Bruce was able to come to my home for same day service. He kept me informed of his expected time to arrive. I had a leaky shut off valve to my washer. He fixed it within minutes. He also gave me his advice on another problem I was having. I would hire this company again.

Bruce is very polite professional and honest. Overall I am very satisfied with the work his firm executed at my home. At all times Bruce and his colleagues were courteous and accommodating to my requests. There were a couple of delays but then I think thats part of the course with any construction project. There were a couple of issues I had but Bruce did not hesitate to rectify the issues and went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied. I have had no trouble getting hold of Bruce, in fact last Saturday he came to discuss some more work I need doing and helped me define the scope of work and gave good honest advice. I look forward to his quote and working with him again.

(I am out of town for a couple of months, but have house sitters staying at my home.) I initially contacted him on June 11th. He said that he would come by sometime on that Friday, the 13th, but did not show. I called him back and he said he would be by sometime on Saturday, but, again, did not show. He finally did show up and determined that the motor was bad and said he would get back to me in a few days with a proposed solution. When he did not get back to me, I called him again and he again promised to get back to me and apologized for "dropping the ball." My house sitters said they still didn't hear from him so I called someone else, who responded promptly and fixed it immediately. I was very, very disappointed as he had so many positive reviews and I'd really hoped to find someone that I could count on as I have many, many projects. I sent him a text, letting him know that I'd given up and found someone else to fix it and he, again, apologized for not completing the task and said that he left a message for one of my house sitters that was not returned. I have found my house sitters to be extremely reliable and they are the ones that really wanted the attic fan fixed as they were suffering in the heat. So, I don't know if somehow his message failed or what, but given his poor history of follow-up, I still lay the blame at his feet. Final assessment: he acts professional, but does not follow-through.

The owner was extremely professional during all interactions. With the exception of the bedroom door the work was satisfactory. The bedroom door and frame installation was very poor. I t appeared as if the person who installed the door and frame was very inexperienced. The frame had several gouges in the wood, is uneven and the paint job is poor. The frame also has noticeable gaps between the floor and bottom of the frame. The door is not evenly installed in the frame, there is a huge gap between bottom of door and floor and the paint job is poor. I would not recommend this company to perform a complicated installation or paint.

The company did an excellent job! I will definitely be calling them back for other projects. Thanks again for the great service.

I originally called and left messages for many "handyman" providers on angieslist inquirying about hanging my new storm door only to be dismayed by the lack of response from almost every one! When I called Hunny Do List, Bruce Stevenson, the owner, answered his cell phone: that was the first good sign. After a brief conversation, we scheduled a time for him to stop by between jobs to take a look and give me a price. He showed up at the appointed time: that was the second good sign. We each reviewed our calendars and chose a date for the work. The day arrived and Bruce brought along his assistant, Donte, to help since hanging a door is often a two person job. Both men wore shirts with the name of the company and Bruce's truck had the name of his company prominently displayed; these things are important when inviting strangers into your home. Removing the old screen door was easy, hanging the new storm door proved more challenging when the old door frame was not square and about an inch too narrow. We talked over several ideas and chose a date for them to return to finsih the job because Bruce had something else scheduled that afternoon and was afraid to get too involved right then. After a scheduling mixup so he could attend his daughter's high school graduation, we had to pick another day to complete the work, but Bruce was sincere in his apology and at each and every phone call he was pleasant, personable and professional: good sign number three. It was on one of those calls that I added the extra work of him buying and replacing the basement door lock. On the day to complete the work, both Bruce and Donte arrived and went right to work. After much sawing, sanding and caulking, my new storm door was retrofitted into my 100 + year old frame and looked fantastic. As Donte was finishing the hardware and clean up, Bruce went into the basement to work on the lock. Shortly thereafter, I was asked to review everything to my satisfaction. The lock looked heavy duty and the key turned perfectly inside and out. Overall, I am extremely happy with Bruce's carpentry skill, reasonable prices, professionalism and pleasant manner. Before he left I asked him about doing more work for me later this summer and having him available long term as the need arises as someone I can count on. I have no reservations about recommending Bruce of Hunny Do List and it feels good to support a local small business owner.

Bruce and his team showed up on time with all the tools needed ready to do the job. He was polite, professional, and very thorough. All windows were finished within a couple hours and the work sites cleaned up very well once complete. While at hour home, we also had Bruce give us an estimate on finishing a bathroom (roughed in, but not a working bathroom). He gave us a fair price and was very responsive to our questions/concerns. We will be using him for that job as well, but I will leave a separate review once that work is done. Definitely recommend Bruce and his team!

The crew was on time most days and communicated whenever there would be a change in schedule. All crew members were professional and respectful of our home. They cleaned up after themselves everyday which was no small effort on some days. The job took longer than expected due to change requests, delays in materials that we (the homeowners) were responsible for providing, but the owner and his team stuck it out and kept the same level of professionalism all the way through. We recommended Hunny Do to a couple of our friends, because we were impressed by the owner's diligence, professionalism and friendliness on top of the quality of work his team delivered. Mr. Stevenson only takes work he knows he has the skill-set available to execute a quality finished product. We asked if his crew could hang wall paper and he told us he did not have anyone skilled in that discipline. He could have taken our money and "winged it", but he was honest and up-front with us. We have a small portion of our job still outstanding (framing out chalk walls in two bedrooms), because we (the homeowners) needed more time to get the space ready for the job. Mr. Stevenson graciously agreed to allow us to call his team back in a few weeks once we were ready to have the final job done and they would come back. He offered us to hold a portion of the total balance due until this final work is done. It was a pleasure doing business with Hunny Do, LLC and Mr. Bruce Stevenson. We absolutely plan to hire Hunny Do, LLC. for future jobs.

Mr. Stevenson did an exceptional job- quick, courteous, professional. I would and will call on Mr. Stevenson again.

I joined and paid for Angies list because I was sick and tired of dealing with unreliable contractors. I would make appointments and nobody would show or pay and no work completed. Finally, I felt as though I can get all the jobs around my house addressed. Here, I called was told what to do, e-mail my list by priority which I did. Both over the phone and by e-mail we set the time for late yesterday afternoon. I e-mailed all of my phone numbers and my husbands. We left off with that I would be contacted with the time. No show!!!!! Does anyone realize that my time and money are important?? I thought with the excellent reviews that this would be the business to employ. At the very least either my husband or I should have received a message stating he was not coming.

Mr. Stevenson arrived on time. He gave an estimate for the job. He bought the materials and came back and completed the installation. It was easy to schedule and service was prompt. It all went extremely well.

I really enjoyed the pleasantness that prevailed with all individuals involved in the work that was done. The work took three sessions and was done in good order. The company leaders were pleasant to work with. Great job!

Never finished what was requested in the 4hr Big Deal. I was told there was an hour's work left (outside work) When temperatures got better he was to finish, but he never called to schedule even when the weather was favorable!

We needed some siding done up towards the roof. We wanted wood like the rest of the house but he put plastic up. We were not very satisfied with that. He also left a hole where it should have rounded it.

They were very polite, very pleasant and I would refer them gladly.

He was knowledgeable and helpful on how to proceed. I will definitely use his services.

This provider was offering a special deal - 4 hrs. of handyman service for $149 - in November 2013. I purchased the deal and was then told a few days later by provider that because of the overwhelming response to his deal, he would not be able to get to me until the beginning of the year (2014). This was a little off-putting, but okay, I dealt with it. So, although I had a couple of jobs in mind for him to do at that time, I had my regular handyman do one of those jobs and saved the other job for this provider. The first of the year came and went, so I gave this provider a call myself to remind him that I was still waiting; we scheduled him to come out on Jan. 16, 2014. The job I had for him - repair/replace/insulate drywall under my kitchen sink. We had some work done some time ago to our outside faucet (outside kitchen area) which required a plumber to cut through the wall; and since then we have had several problems, i.e., pipe froze, etc. I have been told by a few professionals that the drywall area needed to be insulated very well, apply drywall compound, and drywall needed to be repaired. Mr. Stevenson (provider) came out, took a look and said that we did not need insulation in the wall nor did the drywall need to be repaired (in fact, he removed some of the fiberglass insulation we had there for interim protection), we only needed to put insulation on the kitchen pipes- which he proceeded to do. A piece of styrofoam insulation around the kitchen sink pipes - I could have done that! He was there for 15 mins. - that's what I paid $149 for. (He did ask if we had any other jobs to do, but we did not.) Oh, and yes, he left a card and wrote on it that we could have 10% off our next job. I immediately called my regular handyman and asked them if they could do the job, they sent me a proposal detailing what they would do (remove existing drywall under sink, insulate WALL and pipes, install drywall and apply 1-2 rounds of mud, caulk as needed) - this is exactly what needs to be done. I explained this to Mr. Stevenson on the phone and then told him when he got there to use his best judgment (since I would not be present when he came out), I assumed that he knew what he was doing since he was an Angie's List provider. I was wrong.

Mr. Stevenson's team completed all tasks in a timely and professional manner. I was pleased with the results and will again use their services.

Bruce and his team were amazing! He showed up on time and immediately got to work. He was pleasant and listened as I explained the project. He finished the first part of the job on Saturday and came back on time on Monday to complete the job once the paint had dried. We will definitely be using him again!

He returned my call promptly, we set-up a date/time, he was on time partially completed the job - he came back the next day after the mud had dried and was done. Very cut and dry. Thanks!

They arrived on time, got right to work, and completed the jobs quickly and professionally. They were careful not to track dirt onto the carpet, and there were no scratches or marks on the doors or windows where they worked. Would definitely use this company again.
