Harbor Development

Our biggest gripe was the lack of communication. We decided on this company based on the great price we received and of course that was our biggest mistake. All the work was subbed out and the GC is only as good as the subs. I think we went through 3 plumbers and 3 carpenters during this project. All the subs complained about not being paid. I ended up having to visit the property daily and provide updates as to what subs showed and what work had been completed. I also had to make sure the windows and doors were properly secured after visiting several times and finding doors unlocked after the workers left the site. The project was very exhausting. I ended up hiring another contractor to finish some additional work that wasn?t budgeted for since I did not want Harbor to do it. I?m still battling with the 3rd party inspectors, Lourenco consultants, suggested by Harbor Development. The first time we activated the furnace, we came to find out that the gas line was never installed. I don?t understand how we passed final inspections without a working furnace and this information was provided to DCRA. We were able to salvage the project and the house looks great, but no recommendations for Harbor Development.
