It went well. They showed up in the morning, prepped the walls, covered everything-all counters, tables, and appliances-primed and painted. They were done by the day's end, cleaned, and were on their way.

They were very professional and extremely knowledgeable but their quote was higher than the people that we actually went with.

This is just a great company. Well run, professional, good quality work, very easy to deal with. The workers all were hard working, polite, and conscientious. Can't say enough.

Exterior painting done on our 150 year old house, including scraping and painting of metal porch and stairs. Interior sanding and painting of multiple rooms in the renovation of our home. Interior painting of our study after putting up ceiling molding and repairing a wall. Making of a dozen wooden radiator covers from scratch, each with different dimensions. Power-washing of two fiberglass roofs. Power-washing and staining of our deck every three years, making it look like new.

The owner came to my house two weeks ago and met with me to give me an estimate. Derrick was supposed to get back with me the next day or even a few days later. It has been almost two weeks and I have not heard back anything. It was a complete waste of my time.

We have had a lot of work done by Hands on Painters - painting, staining, power washing & carpentry. They always are responsive, are on time, do a good job & at a reasonable price.

After having gotten an estimate from Alex to paint the exterior trim of my house I called with an urgent smaller interior paint job that another painting contractor had let me down on. Alex gave me a very fair price and had a man on the job a day and a half later. The painter arrived early and worked diligently until the job was finished, pausing only briefly to eat a pb+j sandwich for lunch. The work is outstanding: precise and consistent. The painter was courteous and professional and a pleasure to have on the job.

They did a great job. I have used there services several times. I have recommended this company to my family. The wall looks like new. They are very professional.

Overall very well: the wall paper stripping and paint job looked great and was a big job and we were mostly very happy with it, but there were some communication issues in scheduling the estimate and there was some paint spattering that needed to be cleaned up afterwards.

They got the color right. Everything about it is what I wanted it to be. They were there when they said that they were going to be. They put up with me adding things in and saying things that I wanted. I could have had it done cheaper, but because Angie's List said they were so good I went with them. I was very satisfied. They are very nice guys. I would recommend them to friends and family

They blew some leaves and I didn't like what had happened and they came right back and fixed it - free of charge. They were working very hard to please the customer. They did very professional work. They came right when they said they would.

We called Hands on Painters for an estimate and John came out the next day. We had some ideas about color but John really helped with the final selection and which walls would get each color. They said it would take 3 days to finish the job and they were right on time. Our basement looks great!

They did an awesome job! This is a 50-year-old house with settlement cracks and some ceiling damage from an old roof leak, as well as peeling paint from years of layers of paint. It's amazing how much better it all looks now. The house was vacant so I didn't meet the actual team, but we did communicate via email and phone. A few things needed to be touched up, and that was done very promptly when I asked. They even took the curtains down and put some back up when they were done, because I was worried about it looking vacant. Jonathan met with me initially for the estimate and understood that my goal was for the house to look good without spending a fortune (I'll save that for the new house!). He had some great ideas about sprucing the place up and even made recommendations for other service people.

They were responsive. Derrick came out right away and within a day or so emailed us a very detailed quote for the drywall repair and painting. We may call him again for other jobs. We didn't go with him this time because we also wanted the kitchen ceiling light fixture re-hung and a competitor had a handyman on staff who could do the project including the light fixture piece (without our hiring an electrician separately). My first impression of Derrick is that he is trustworthy and easy to work with, with an attention to detail. The estimate was very thorough and professional with all the proper legalese to protect both parties; impressive.

Jonathan gave us some great suggestions when he visited our home for the estimate. The painters were extremely professional, worked around our schedule, showed up exactly when expected, and cleaned up after the job. The house looked wonderful when the they had finished. A few months later, when we had some concerns about how the paint looked on some woodwork, hands on responded immediately and fixed the problem to our satisfaction.

They did a great job, spent 3 days just repairing walls, remaining 7 painting. Cleaned up after. Could not be happier; all contractors should operate like this company!

The project went very smoothly from start to finish. Hands On Painters came to my house before I had to leave for work to give me an estimate and emailed me a contract proposal the same morning. Work was started the following Monday and completed in one day. The painters showed up on time, were polite, and cleaned up after themselves nicely. The wood was quite old and stained so some bleed through has occurred, but all-in-all it looks great and really cleaned and brightened up a dark basement.

Despite my telling them on the initial visit, and during set up on day of work, they did not sand the woodwork or the doors prior to painting. They used mini-rollers on flat door panels, resulting in poorly-covered oddly-textured doors. They seemed more interested in getting it done in one day. However, when I complained, they immediately agreed to work to rectify the situation, and they did to the extent possible. However, final results are not as good as if they'd done it correctly in the first place.

Overall the team did an outstanding job. They were thorough, worked steadily and took their time to do the job right. Each day they cleaned up after themselves, leaving everything tidy. Alex, project manager, was accommodating and a pleasure to do business with.

The project went very well, and I am quite pleased with the work they did. They started on time, did a lot of preparatory work, and finished in a timely fashion. This in spite of the awful heat while they were working! I would definitely recommend Hands-on Painters.

The work was inconsistent. The first day in my house they took down wallpaper in the wrong bedroom. They painted the bathroom ceiling the wrong color. They did not do a good job on fine work and didn't finish painting behind the refrigerator in the kitchen. There were many, many drips and areas that required their "touch-up person" to spend 2 days in my home. He did a good job and my house looks good - but even he missed some items that I am still finding - like blobs of caulking and forgetting to paint the upper inside edge of a pocket door. Also, they took down my curtain rods for me - and threw away all of my hardware, including large brackets that I wanted to reuse. I used the same company to paint the exterior and the deck, including replacing wood that had rotted. That work was much better - different foreman and different crew.

How did it go overall? PERFECTLY. This was an enormous job; probably 70 years of paint on doors that were in terrible shape. The work was meticulous and the painters were knowledgeable, friendly and dead-on as far as what I wanted and expected. I was so glad to finally have this work done, and done correctly. Other painters I had called wanted to skim the doors and paint over top; that would have been a disaster. Terrific work from Erik. Is it 100% flawless, no, but I am VERY VERY HAPPY and would call these guys back in a heart beat. They showed up and were extremely thorough in doing the job correctly.

The estimator couldn't make his original appointment but his office called me an hour before the appointment to reschedule. He did make the second appointment on time and quickly went through the rooms to be painted. He emailed me an estimate within a few hours of his visit. Hands on Painters was in the middle of the three quotes I got. I chose them primarily because they could start the work within a few days. The painters arrived on time, reviewed the projects with me and got straight to work. They moved furniture away from the walls and put down drop cloths to protect the floors and furniture. They repaired nail pops, patched drywall dings, removed ceiling light fixtures, primed and painted. They started to paint an area that I had specifically requested they not paint, but were good about stopping the work and not charging me for it. The painters were professional and did a good job.

The call to the company, estimate and work were done all within a week's time. Two workmen completed the work in one day, but realized they missed an item, called me later that day and came back early the next morning to complete the job. The workmen were polite and cooperative and they pretty much cleaned up after themselves. They missed a lot of caulking in the bathroom, but if I noticed it while they were here, they probably would have done it.

Overall, the painting was very well done. They sanded between coats, removed all fixtures and railing, and did a great job on the edges. The crew was hard-working, prompt, and courteous. They cleaned up well after they had completed the job. I would recommend them as well as use them again, except the next time I would try to cover my flooring and woodwork better before they started in order to protect it a bit more from the droplets (I just noticed in a few spots that must have been not completely covered). The owner was prompt, friendly, and turned around the estimate quickly.
