No problems. Nice, honest. Just get a good estimate first, and they are agreeable to doing the parts you can afford.

Jonathan came out and performed an analysis of the work to be done and how best to install the sail, provided an estimate for the work required and made sketches of what we envisioned for his staff to follow. We were using Angie's list big deal for the work to be performed. When the carpenter arrived and set thing up we discovered the plan didn't provide adequate coverage. He then proposed an alternative plan that met our expections and quickly finished the project. I also asked him to take a look at a leaking skylight. He had the materials to caulk and seal the possible entry points in the truck and complete the additional work in a timely fashion. When the bill arrived, all work except for the material for the sail installation was covered by the certificate from Angie's List. This was the third time I have used Hands on Painters with complete satisfaction.

Both the company and individual assigned to the job were professional, courteous and wanting to be of service.

I purchased two big deal coupons from Hands on Painters for a total of 6 hours of drywall/painting work. Thersa sent me an email asking me to answer questions and I emailed the answers to her questions and pictures of the work to be done back to her. She said they could do the requested work in 4 hours so I had around 2 hours of work left on the coupons. I found other work for them to do to use the remaining two hours and sent it to her. She emailed saying that Hands on Painters would supply the tape and mud but I would need to supply the paint. Later she said there was not 2 hours of work remaining on the coupons and they may not even be able to complete the estimated 4 hours of work in 6 hours. Keep in mind I have answered their questions, provided pictures and spoke to them concerning the work. I asked to speak to the manager/owner which is Jonathan Zawacki and he suggested for him to come to my house to see the work and provide an estimate. When Jonathan arrived at my house he immediately started complaining how he doesn?t make any money on Angie?s List Big Deals and asking me do I know how much a painter costs. This was an instant red flag for me as I didn?t ask him to offer the big deal, he did that on his own and that wasn?t the point of his arrival. He looked over the work and now he says that the work that was originally estimated to take 4 hours would now take approximately 9 hours and I would need to pay them $45 per hour for the additional 3 hours. Further he says that I would need to pay them $30/$40 for the tape and mud. These things are a total contradiction of what they had told me previously and a rip off. He later sent me an estimate to actually complete the job the correct way for $3,500 which is totally ridiculous. See other members Angie?s list review on March 16, 2012 that has similar complaints on charges. I told Jonathan I would find the email from Thersa which said Hands on Painters would supply the tape&mud and get back to them. I found the email mentioned, Thersa agreed they would supply the tape&mud and the appointment was scheduled for them to do the work to use the coupons only and nothing else, no additional charges and no $3,500 ridiculous charge. A day before the work was to be completed I called Hands on Painters and spoke to Jonathan. He said everything was on schedule but said I would need to pay $30/$40 for the tape&mud. I said Thersa had confirmed that Hands on Painters would supply the tape&mud.. His response was that I would need to pay them for the tape&mud, he didn?t care what kind of Angie?s list review I would give them and hung up the phone. Hands on Painters refused to do the work, the appointment was for the next day and I had scheduled that day off from work, so Hands on Painters is responsible for me to miss a day off from work unnecessarily and should pay me for that time. They painted the interior of our home in stages, as we requested. The work was perfect.

Estimate was done at scheduled time. install took place on scheduled day and time. The install was done in a professional manner. The installer was friendly and answered any questions asked. Job site was left clean after job completed. I was completely satisfied with this company and worker.

Everyone was SO friendly and pleasant to deal with and I felt completely comfortable having them come in and out of my home all day. They were right on time (to the minute, almost) and actually right on time for finishing as well. They left no mess behind - not one drop. Really nice guys and the room looks AMAZING. Great job. I plan on calling them again next month to do an accent wall in my living room and install some exterior shutters.

I purchased a coupon for approximately $200 for 4 hours of handyman work. Scheduling was easy and professionally handled. I requested painting of ceilings and trim in two small bathrooms. I was told by the office manager that all I needed to supply was paint. Unfortunately, the painter informed me that the pocked and flaking ceiling paint would require "skimming" and treatment with "Kilz" and that that would take the full four hours for one bathroom. Except for a 15 minute phone call by the painter and finishing 15 minutes early, the work did take roughly four hours to skim and treat the approximately 45 square foot area. The worker provided all materials. When he finished, he told me that I would need to sand (the area was uneven due to the application of layers of thin plaster), re-skim, and sand again before paint could be applied. While, to my unprofessional eye, some scraping seemed to be all that would have been required before painting the ceiling, this skimming prep probably reflects the professional care that Hands On would give to a full painting job. Unfortunately, I was not able to pay for more hours of labor at the usual (I think $100 per hour) rate. The gentleman used a drop cloth and vacuumed after his work, leaving the area neat except for two areas where plaster dripped on the wall paper, but that was easily scraped off.

The whole process from first contact to the last was super smooth and easy. The scheduling process was simple and logical. Explanatory materials were sent to me in advance. The guys that came to the the work were punctual, professional and completely lead safe (which was important to me). On top of all of that - they also did the work for a great price! I was very pleased. Highly recommended.

We live in an historic district and many of our windows are double hung wooden sash windows. There are also two sun parlors with wooden windows as well. The front porch has four pair of columns and the door is bounded by decorative trim and little windows. The back porch, which is screened and roofed, still has the original siding on the house. All this needed to be scraped, re-glazed and painted. The crew arrived on time each of the three days it took to do the job and worked hard. They did a great job, never left a mess and after the final clean up everything was perfect. They were considerate of the plantings around the house, too. I appreciated that the entire crew came back each day until the job was finished.

He was very good and quick. The service he provided was excellent.

Me and the owner decided for them to paint the hallway. But when the worker came he just painted and patched a spot in the hallway when he was supposed to paint the whole hallway. Their prices are too high.

We had them out on a couple of occasions to complete the work. During their first visit they installed the light fixtures and attempted to do some of the bath fixtures, but after spending some time taking apart the existing fixtures he determined that we needed a professional plumber because the fixtures weren't compatible. It was a little frustrating that they spent part of our contracted time trying to install the fixtures only to determine it was beyond the scope of their work. During the second visit they installed three separate faucets. After a couple of weeks we noticed that one of the faucets was leaking. I called their office and they quickly sent out someone to fix it, at no charge.Very accomodating.

Just talking about the painting. Everything was easy from the estimate, to the contract, to picking colors, to working with the painter. He had to work in confined space because I had just moved. Result is outstanding. very pleased.

We chose HOP with the assistance do Angie's List after receiving 3 estimates. They were very responsive and prompt when going through the selection process. As soon as the weather turned warmer they scheduled the work with plenty of advanced notice. The work was done professionally with an fantastic finished product. I would not hesitate a second to both rehire HOP and recommend them to friends.

They fit me in during the Christmas holiday and I commend them for doing so. I loved working with them. I would recommend them to anyone because they value their customers. They have a very reliable handyman/painter named Jose. Therse, the business manager, was very good and friendly.

My wife and I decided we wanted to paint our Living room and Dining Room to give them a fresher look. I started the job on my own to save some money. I spent 2 days painting the Dining Room...let's just say my painting skills aren't much to be desired!! We have used Hands on Painting in the past and they have always done a great job. I called them to get a quote and Alex came out to give me a price a few days later. We needed the job done within a week of calling them and they said that would not be a problem. The day of the job Eddy and Mingo arrived to do the work. Eddy was in charge for the job and was completely Professional. Both were hard working and polite. I would have both back in my home for another job no problem. The job took one day as promised, and they fixed all my mistakes and made our rooms look great. Thanks Guys.

From beginning to end this was a professional, top notch job. Jonathon came out and did the estimate and after accepting, we had to wait for approval from the Historic Preservation of Baltimore County and State Landmarks Trust, then we had to wait for the rain to stop. The house paint was in horrific condition and the crew probably spent the bulk of their time prepping the surface. Extensive sanding of the shingles was done and the carpenter replaced rotted soffits and some window trim from the front of the house that was missing/damaged. Shutters were removed and repaired and squared up, hand scraped and painted. Throughout the weeks that the job lasted, the crew was prompt, professional and neat...work site was cleaned up every day and they protected the landscaping around the house from damage while working. The end result was beautiful, even the Landmark Trust was impressed! We will definitely have them back when it's time to repaint, hopefully the job won't be so extensive next time!

Their overall service was outstanding. I would rate them highly. I have used them on four occasions and would use them again in the future.

I found them on Angie's List and they were good, professional and did their job on time. If I had questions or pointed out where I felt they missed a spot they were very good about attending to my little complaints. They made sure they had a happy customer and that they did their job correctly. I think their pricing was fair and I will use them again in the future.
