The job was completed and all appeared satisfactory, but I never saw the pipe being placed, nor the foundation beneath the driveway. The speakers were in place, but the iPod dock would not work. I first spoke with Jon to ask him to fix the iPod dock. He came, took a look, took the dock out of the wall (to be mailed to the distributor he said), and left. Numerous emails and phone calls later I found that the iPod dock distributor had stopped making that model, and that Jon couldn't get a different model because he was unsure of the wiring in the wall. We're left to this day with a hole in the wall that I will have to patch. A year after we moved into the house, we also developed a fly problem. It turned out that a crack had formed in the basement wall (near the foundation) and sewage water was seeping out into the basement attracting flies and rodents. I had my sewage line scoped and it showed a disconnect between my home sewage line and the city sewage connection on MY end roughly 9 ft out where the pipes met. The repair for this was a $4000 job during which my driveway was dug up. The workers found that the sewage pipe from my house had simply been shoved into pre-existing terra cotta, instead of taking newer PVC and replacing the old line all the way out to the city connection. This simple expense during the rehab would have saved me thousands.
