Description of Work: I, along with two adjoining neighbors, needed our shingle roofs replaced. Based on Angie's list, I contacted this company and they sent out a young man who did not appear to have any idea what he was doing. I had lined up not only my home but those of my neighbors. After arriving more than 30 minutes late, he spent little time on each home and gave an estimate that was 30% higher of other well-known companies. Additionally, whereas the other well-known companies were meticulous in measuring each roof and sitting down with the homeowner and explaining the estimate, this young man did none of those things. Sadly, you are only as good as your weakest employee. Perhaps this company does a fine job but based on the unprofessional estimator, neither I nor my neighbors will ever know.

Description of Work: They are when getting on the roof they bent my rain gutter and the first tech mission could not do it I had to get a second technician there because I told them in the first place it was a steep roof it cost me more time to have to me a second technician after completing the job I was satisfied with the quality of the work on the shingles being re-sealed however in a follow-up phone call with management when I ask them for a copy of the repair order they were unable to provide one and I asked them to send someone out to doublecheck the repair so that they could provide a new copy but they said those employees no longer work for them and they were unable to verify who did the repair and what quality it was this was difficult and I explain to them that I was not happy later I called the office and the secretary was nice and gave me some information via email that I had told her over the phone which I was able to keep it as some documentation that I had the roof worked on otherwise they claim to have no record except for the financial transaction of the Angie's list credit card payment detailing they amount not the complete nature or details of repair

Description of Work: I was having a strange leak coming through the ceiling of my kitchen on the first floor in my Canton rowhome. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out where the water was coming from, because the floor above the kitchen is the bedroom, and we didn't have any problems at all in there. I called Cox to come over and take a look, using the coupon for a roof checkup. They came when they said they would, and gave the property a once-over. They found what was the probable site of the leak (an outdoor electrical outlet that wasn't properly sealed) and patched it up right then and there. They went over the rest of the roof and found some areas that looked like they could lead to trouble in the future. So, they offered to fix the rest of the roof and give it a new sliver coat, and I agreed. They did the work as promised, for what I considered a reasonable price. Cox will be my go-to contractor for any other roof issues.

Description of Work: We called Cox Roofing because we had a leak in our 2nd floor ceiling, which appeared to be coming through from the bump out roof over our bay window. Dennis came out quickly and provided us with a price of $1500 for replacing the metal roof. However, since they could not complete the job for a 10 - 14 days and a major storm was coming over the weekend, Dennis agreed to provide some workers to come out and properly secure tarping over the affected roof area the very next day to get us through the storm for an additional $300. The workers did come out but when they climbed up there to do the temporary tarping, the workers said the problem was not the roof, but rather the flashing around the attic window above the roof. They caulked the heck out of the flashing and it stopped the leak. They recommended replacement of the window, and Dennis still recommended replacement of the roof, but since it isn't leaking anymore due to the caulking, we haven't chosen to do either major repair they recommended.

+ -1 moreI had an unbelievably bad experience with Nick from BLC. Nick had contacted me 5 minutes after putting my request for service in online. We spoke several times on the phone and he guaranteed me that he would be at my home when the insurance company came and help me get the best possible deal on my roof repair. I told Nick that the insurance company was coming at 6pm and that I would try to get home before they got there, as close to 5:30 as possible. Nick and I spoke on the phone at 5:32pm and he said he was about 6 minutes away. I told him that I was stuck in traffic and shouldn't be much longer. I got home at 5:46pm and ran inside to go to the bathroom. When I got out, I checked my phone and I had missed 3 calls within 5 minutes and a message asking me where I was. I called Nick back at 5:52pm (his message was left at 5:51). He took off and refused to return to my house or answer the phone ever again. It's 5 days later and he has still not given me the courtesy of a phone call, an apology or an excuse. Can't a person hit the head after being stuck in traffic for over an hour racing home to make an appointment that she wasn't late for? I could understand him leaving had we not spoken just minutes beforehand but that was not the case. However, never reaching out to me again and not returning my calls is unprofessional and inexcusable. It is obvious that good (or even acceptable) customer service is not a priority to them and knowing what I know now, I feel lucky that Nick and BLC showed their true colors before I hired them to perform a service on my home and got major league screwed. I would not recommend Nick nor BLC to my worst enemy (or maybe I would ;))! BTW, all calls and times are saved in my cell phone in case there is any doubt or this information is refuted!
Description of Work: Nick form BLC was supposed to go up on my roof along with my insurance company to assess storm damage. He was work with my insurance provider on my behalf and I was going to hire BLC to fix my roof.
