Charm City Movers

Charm City Movers did a great job. They were punctual, professional and courteous. Each member (Moses, James, Michael and Quentin) introduced themselves with great eye contact and hand shake and were very friendly. Moses went through the house to compare it to the check list before starting, and then they all went to work. They worked hard and efficiently and took care not to damage walls while carrying furniture. They also had to hoist (or, technically, lower) several heavy items including a dresser and queen mattresses/box springs from the second story window. They did this safely without damaging the furniture. The only critique I have is how they handled the one large canvas painting I had them transport. They apparently put this lying horizontal on top of other furniture, over a corner or point, without protection, so the canvas was slightly stretched and pointed in that area. This is poor care of art. So, I'd advise caution in moving art work with them, but otherwise, they were fantastic and I would certainly use them again.

Moses and his team were friendly and efficient. Everyone I spoke with at the office was very nice and helpful. Although there was a mistake on the job sheet when the team showed up, I would still recommend this company for moving in Baltimore!

DO NOT USE CHARM CITY MOVERS (ccm). Bottom line: for a company that offers a guarantee price, you WILL NOT get a guarantee from them, and you WILL receive poor customer service. I emailed ccm telling them about all of the furniture that I had and that I was looking to move on 8/13/2016. They told me that they have a minimum price of $400 and based on our conversation and my email, I had so little furniture that they could move one of my TV’s (I was willing to move both to save $) plus all my furniture and I still would not be above the minimum. They said this amount of $400 was all I would pay and reassured me of this multiple times. The day of, they got to my house and saw my sectional and told me that they had not been informed I had a sectional and it would cost be an EXTRA $120. TOTALING $520. I had no choice (I am a single girl) and had to agree. When they got to my new house, they told me that my sectional would not fit in the basement. I asked if we could try from the back door and they reluctantly agreed. We tried to get it through that door and it would not fit. Since they had been there for LESS THAN 1.5 hours, I asked if we could move the couch inside through the front door to the living room and I would figure out what to do. They told me that they “didn’t have time and wanted to get to the next job, then THEY LEFT MY SECTIONAL OUT OF MY DECK FOR ME TO MOVE IN MYSELF SO IT DIDN’T GET DESTROYED IN THE RAIN that night. The next business day, I called and explained how I was charged an extra $120, including a fee for a sectional that I told them I have that they chose to not put on their inventory list, and, on top of it THEY DID NOT EVEN MOVE THE PIECE THEY WERE CHARGING ME EXTRA FOR AND LEFT IT IN THE RAIN. I was told that they did have the sectional on the original email I sent but it “just must have been an oversight” and that they would get back to me the next afternoon at the latest. That was yesterday and since I did not hear from them I called them this morning and they did not pick up. Do not use, I honestly would not wish this awful experience on anyone.

We were very pleased with Charm City Movers. We requested an estimate using their on-line inventory site, and heard back from Felix quickly. Felix called the day before the move to confirm everything, and the crew showed up exactly when scheduled. Moses, James, and Michael were polite and friendly, and worked really hard. The house we moved from was a three-story-with-finished-basement row house, with a quite narrow, winding, low-ceilinged stair from the first to the third floor. Some of our furniture had to go out through the second-story windows. They took good care with everything, including the walls, and while some (inevitable) dings occurred the damage was minimal. The delivery location, less than a mile away, was another three-story row house (with more accessible stairs) and they were just as careful on that end. The entire move took almost exactly three hours, much less than estimated. While moving is rarely fun, this team made the ordeal go quickly and pleasantly.

Excellent! The team (Moses, James, and Michael) were wonderful, professional, and courteous. Aside from taking excellent care of my furniture/boxes to be moved, they paid attention to details when placing the furniture in the house (they suggested moving a couch a few inches so it didn't block an outlet, much appreciated!!). I would recommend Charm City Movers to my family and friends and use them again!

Team of two did a great job and expertly handled all of the furniture. Got everything moved out/in in short order and were friendly and professional. There was concern about one piece fitting through the door and they got it in with no issue. They were also willing to help relocate a piece that they had already moved after I had mistakenly told them to put it in the wrong place. Customer service setting up and coordinating the move was very responsive and courteous. This was our first time hiring a mover and we were very happy with this choice. We would definitely hire them again.

An amazing team of four arrived exactly on time and had my daughters furniture moved out of our house in under an hour. They were so nice and did a great job. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Pricing was very reasonable. I will never use anyone else.

Team of 4 arrived right on time. Very professional and pleasant. I liked that they give a detailed quote ahead of time, and I was able to update it the day before without any problems. Office staff was helpful, too! I'll definitely use them again if I need movers.

Less than two weeks ago, we our move plans were changed quite a bit due to the birth of our first child, and I decided to get some help with the larger items. I filled out a quote online, and before the end of the day received a call from Tammy clarifying a few items and sending me a quote before we were off the line. A week later, I needed to change a few items but before I could I received a follow up call to talk about the potential for a snowstorm. Tammy committed to a daily update between Wednesday and the move date (Saturday 1/23/16) to make sure we could all be on the same page. By Friday afternoon, we had determined that Saturday was not going to happen due to 30 inches of snow and we would shoot for Monday instead. At that time I began to coordinate with Felix. A few details about the move - we were moving just down the block, and with the poor weather, we had intended to move without a truck. We committed to clear the sidewalk between the two houses as best we could and make sure all stairs were salted. Sunday afternoon Felix called me to confirm a time Monday and see that we were able to find the sidewalk. The next day, despite most of the city being under snow and Quinton and Mark showed up on time, found a parking spot (miraculously) and proceeded over the course of a few short hours carry an entire house worth of furniture though a narrowly shoveled sidewalk and around some tight corners that left both the house and furniture unharmed. I've been stressing for weeks and terribly over the weekend, but from Tammy to Felix at the office to Quinton and Mark at the houses, I'm totally able to recommend Charm City to anyone. The price was super, and the customer service and respect for our homes (old and new) were spectacular.

A true professional service company. They showed up on-time. We live in the city on a dead-end street and had the patience to work with the limiting parking circumstances of the neighborhood. They moved my son's bedding, furniture, some bins and boxes and electronics from our house. Then, they drove to his storage facility, moved a large dresser, and more boxes of stuff. From there they drove about 12 miles to his new apartment taking his stuff up a few flights of stairs (no elevator). But they knew all this in advance when we gave them the information and received the quoted price. They efficiently moved him within 2 1/2 hours start to finish without our involvement other than providing directions as to what needed moving and where to deliver. There are services out there that you rent a truck, and they "connect" you with labor help and that's who my son first contracted to do his move. The cost may be 50% lower than a professional service, but you have to understand that those are just "connectors" and assume no liability.. no insurance and no bonding as a professional service and you are basically on your own. If your stuff gets damaged, or the helpers get hurt moving you, that is your responsibility. My son is very pleased I used my Angie's List subscription to find Charm City Movers instead of trying to move it himself. And I would recommend Charm CIty Movers and use them again if I need them.

Outstanding experience from beginning to end. Felix (that's a she) was an absolute delight to speak/laugh with. She and her assistant moved my moving date several times, at my request, always with the same response: "No problem!" The three professional movers showed up right on time, negotiated the elevator in the storage space with ease and efficiency, loaded everything out in half an hour, and did the load-in at my home in even less time. I especially like that Felix offered a flat rate for the move, as opposed to an estimate based on an hourly rate. I knew exactly what the move would cost me, and didn't have to worry about whether a traffic jam on the Beltway would delay the truck and send my costs soaring. I would definitely use them again.

This was a very easy move overall, from the quote process to the actual moving day. Office staff is helpful and responsive, and very flexible in terms of pricing. Even last-minute changes were fine and easily accommodated. Jerome and crew were punctual and efficient and took good care of my things. They definitely went above and beyond by helping me move a car out of my driveway (I dont drive stick, oops...), moving a TV and TV table in the house, and helping to reassemble a piece of furniture, all of which they could have refused but were done with a great attitude. A stressful day was so much easier thanks to Charm City Movers!

Everything went GREAT!! From the day before with my confirmation call with Felix to the actual move. Plus they were right on the money with their quote. There was no discrepancy between the quote and the actual charge which is very rare when using a mover. Quinton Was FANTASTIC!! His professionalism and dedication to his job are evident from the moment he arrived with his team. Each member of the team did a great job loading and unloading our furniture and they were able to set everything up the way they found it. I cannot say anything bad about our experience. Charm City Movers is a shining example of how movers should be. Their professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction is second to none. The five-man crew loaded two trucks, drove across town and unloaded everything in three hours. They were efficient, professional, helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure doing business with them and the office staff who coordinated the move. I highly recommend Charm City Movers.

The office staff is fantastic and very helpful in the days leading up to the move. The estimates they give are based on your inventory, so as long as you have done your work, the amount you pay will be spot on. My wife and I had a few very large items that had to be navigating through some tight spots. The crew did a good job of getting everything out of the old house and loaded on the truck. Our new house also had a tight stairway to the upper floor which caused some problems with a dresser, but the guys got it done. A few scrapes were left on the side of the dresser, but I can't really fault the movers. I know that I could never have gotten the dresser up those stairs. Overall, the crew was friendly and honest. I would definitely hire them again.

They arrived right on time and moved all of our stuff out of the apartment in an hour. Quinton was the head mover and he was very efficient and friendly. They had a hard moving our couch and chair into the house (very narrow entranceway) and had to walk around to the back of the house and remove the back door to get everything in! I can't say enough good things about them and will use them again in the future.

It went very well. Jeremy and Mark were professional and polite. They were prompt and quick. Great experience.

Really cannot say enough positive things about Charm City Movers. From the first contact several months before the scheduled move all the way until the payment was processed, everyone at the company was responsive, polite, and eager to assist. This is not a traditional moving company that charges by the hour; rather, they charge based on the exact items to be moved. Given my busy scheduled, almost all communication was via email and that in no way impacted the level of service I received. I cannot remember exactly how many emails were exchanged trying to finalize the list of items to be moved, but every message was promptly responded to and quotes adjusted accordingly. On moving day the three man crew arrived on schedule and really earned their money. While being only one person, I didn't have a massive amount of items I did have several awkward pieces and a lot of books. These guys didn't miss a beat. They were fast, efficient, organized, and took every reasonable precaution they could to ensure that all of my things, large and small, got from one place to the other in one piece. I do not think they took any breaks, except for the 20 minute drive between locations. All in all they were in and out in less than 4 hours. Strongly recommend this company, and I will use them again if I'm ever foolish enough to move another time.

Quinton and his crew went above and beyond. I grossly underestimated the contents and while more than willing to pay for what I missed, I realize it put their schedule off quite a bit. They worked non-stop from early morning through late afternoon and got our very heavy and bulky furniture out with ease. These guys are superstars. The entire process from estimating to moving was much easier thanks to them. Highly recommend them!!

It was great from beginning to end. Charm City did the move into the original location 2 years ago, so we were repeat customers. The number of items was limited and Felix priced accordingly. I got an estimate from another company which estimated by weight and I could tell that it was way off. Chris called the day before to review everything and Felix called as the move was progressing so that she could check on things. This move required two stops including coming down from Baltimore County to AA County. The entire move from beginning to end was done in 2 hours including travel time. It was done perfectly. The 4 guys were wonderful. They were careful with the furniture and could not have been more polite.

The people both in the office and the guys who did the actual moving were all very nice. They priced my move several times when I changed what I'd be taking. I chose Charm City because they would give me a firm price rather than a per hour price. In retrospect that may not have been the best idea. The men all moved very, very fast to get everything moved and when it was over almost every piece of furniture had some kind of dent or ding in it. One night stand had deep scratches/gouges in the top. They offered to send someone out but I could tell it was beyond repair. Several boxes were stacked upside down ruining things that were packed inside. The person I spoke with in the office disparaged my furniture because some of it came from IKEA. Idon?t believe she meant to be rude but she was basically saying it wasn?t good furniture to begin with. They did not move one wall unit saying it wouldn?t fit out the door so I had to have it moved later. Perhaps a company who charged by the hour would have been slower and therefore there would have been less damage. I?m sorry things turned out the way they did because everyone was really very nice.

Hiring Charm City Movers was an excellent decision! We booked months in advance and scheduled a move for Christmas weekend. Felix was incredibly responsive via email and kept in contact leading up to our move. The morning of our move, Quentin and his team cleared our apartment and got us moved into our new place incredibly fast, handling all of our items with care. We will definitely consider the company for all future moves and recommend your company to friends and family.

I had the best experience with Charm City Movers yesterday! First of all, I love that their quoted price is all inclusive?no time limit, no mileage limit, no weight limit, etc. It?s all up front (which was NOT the case for many of the other seemingly ?cheap? quotes I got from other companies). Felix and Chris (the owners) were responsive, helpful, and friendly throughout the whole process. They went through my inventory with me twice verbally, which was very time consuming. Mark and Quinton showed up, walked in, and got to work moving our stuff out right away. Do them a favor by being ready to go, because these guys are machines. They waste no time. They were incredibly professional, and very careful with our things. We have a lot of antiques, and both guys went out of their way to protect our belongings. They pointed out pre-existing damage to me, and asked questions about nuances of moving certain things if they weren?t sure. I really appreciated this extra step. They also never dragged anything across the wood floors of our rental apartment?they actually lifted everything. It took a little longer to load the truck because they had to walk down a long hall and wait for our building?s freight elevator, but it was truly amazing to watch them in action at our new house where they could park next to the door and carry things straight in. They had the whole truck unloaded in 1.5-2 hours. Mark and Quinton were also incredibly pleasant as people. Felix called during the move to make sure everything was going alright. My contacts with the entire company have been enjoyable, and all of our things arrived undamaged and I feel were handled with great care. I was shocked at how cheap they were on top of this great service. HIGHLY recommend!

They moved all of our furniture in a professional manner. We were able to move a lot of boxes ourselves and this saved a lot of money. It ended up taking 18 hours for the move and they had to assemble and reassemble several items that they didn't factor in the estimate to fit in the new house. They stuck by the final quote and didn't charge us any extra. The guys who moved us were great. They were wonderful and Id use them again in a heartbeat.

Estimate No issues, the estimate was done over the phone 3 weeks in advance. It was a long walkthrough of my home as I described each piece of furniture I needed to move. While not on-site, it was almost as good as it was very thorough and it did not require me to have to be home at a set appointment. Moving Out The team showed up on time, walked through the house with me reviewing the furniture to compare to my estimate and take pictures of pre-existing problems with the furniture and point it out to me so I knew what had issues prior to avoid any possible troubles later. I appreciated this openness. The move out took approximately 3 hours which was an hour short of the estimate so that was nice. Stuck without my stuff At this point (by no fault of Charm City movers) my settlements had to be moved as the people buy my prior home had paperwork issues. I had no home and no stuff as it was all on the truck. Yet when I called Charm City, Felix answered and was so friendly to me and told me they would hold my stuff at the default rate per night they were already scheduled to hold it with no extra penalties. This ended up being an extra 4 days because of the paperwork issues. Each day I would call and tell Felix the news that today was not the day and she was so kind and friendly as she totally understood the poor situation I was stuck in. Finally 4 days after my original move in date my settlements were completed and I scheduled Charm City to come the next day with my stuff. Moving In I was moving into a condo in Baltimore City and even with having to deal with an elevator and long hallway the crew had my items off the truck in just over two hours. Much faster than I expected. Verifying my furniture In the end everything was good with no new issues. Only 1 lampshade had an issue and the crew openly pointed it out to me and apologized. While annoying I did not mind too much as I never really liked that lamp much (haha!) Overall Charm City Movers were great. Felix is super duper friendly and a kind soul who I will never forget how nice she was to a stranger like me who was having some of the most stressful and anxiety filled days of his life.
