Our job is to get in there and then get out, Last year over 70% of our moves came from either repeat customers or were referrals. It's our solid reputation that has built our business.. We are a community based company that has served Baltimore and the Tri-State area for 20 years. We have received the Super Service Award with an A rating each year since 2011. I am so sorry about the canvas painting and I will certainly bring this up at our next meeting as a reminder that canvas can never be placed on top of anything. It should have been placed between your mattresses or stood upright. We recently moved a well known artist in the Baltimore area and not one of the 200+ canvases were stretched. "These are the kind of reviews that hurt the most. I urge others who read this to read the countless others on line and make the decision of our professionalism on their own. I have no issue with a bad review, as I know we are not perfect, but this one is truly not an actual reflection of what happened in our eyes. [Member Name Removed] and I went over her list piece by piece. She had 9 items. A sectional was never discussed. I sent over a copy of the list immediately after the phone call, and asked her to review it and let me know of any changes. When I called to confirm her move, we again went over the list and no mention was made of a sectional. When our movers arrived on moving day, we told her there would be an additional charge to move the sectional. The $120 charge initiated on moving day was not just for the sectional as stated in the review, but the longer walk as well. We brought the sectional through the front door and when it wouldn't fit down the basement door, it went around half of a street block, the only way to access the back door and attempted to put it in the basement. It would not fit through the door. We brought it around to the front again. I was not there and cannot speak on anyone's behalf, but my movers told me she asked them to keep it outside as she would have to sell it. I called 2 mornings later as I had been out of the office and offered her $41. She wanted more. When I asked what she felt was reasonable she told me somewhere in the middle of $400 and $520. I offered her $61. She said it wasn't enough. This could have all been avoided if she had reviewed her list. I am so sorry if anyone felt slighted with this move, but when you get a quote from anyone, whomever it may be, it is important to review it to make sure it lays out exactly what you expect to receive for your money."

A few details about the move - we were moving just down the block, and with the poor weather, we had intended to move without a truck. We committed to clear the sidewalk between the two houses as best we could and make sure all stairs were salted. Sunday afternoon Felix called me to confirm a time Monday and see that we were able to find the sidewalk.
The next day, despite most of the city being under snow and Quinton and Mark showed up on time, found a parking spot (miraculously) and proceeded over the course of a few short hours carry an entire house worth of furniture though a narrowly shoveled sidewalk and around some tight corners that left both the house and furniture unharmed. I've been stressing for weeks and terribly over the weekend, but from Tammy to Felix at the office to Quinton and Mark at the houses, I'm totally able to recommend Charm City to anyone. The price was super, and the customer service and respect for our homes (old and new) were spectacular.

They efficiently moved him within 2 1/2 hours start to finish without our involvement other than providing directions as to what needed moving and where to deliver.
There are services out there that you rent a truck, and they "connect" you with labor help and that's who my son first contracted to do his move. The cost may be 50% lower than a professional service, but you have to understand that those are just "connectors" and assume no liability.. no insurance and no bonding as a professional service and you are basically on your own. If your stuff gets damaged, or the helpers get hurt moving you, that is your responsibility.
My son is very pleased I used my Angie's List subscription to find Charm City Movers instead of trying to move it himself. And I would recommend Charm CIty Movers and use them again if I need them.

"This was a move we did back in February. I never received a phone call or email regarding our service and am unsure as to why we got a low score as there is no input. There were 4 men on this move, and no notations were on the moving contract about any issues. The customer signed off on receiving her goods with no visual damage. We only moved 8 pieces and the men who did this move have been called out by name with praises in many reviews on Angie's List, so I really don't know what this rating is about. A company can do nothing about what someone sees as a bad move unless you let them know."

The office staff is fantastic and very helpful in the days leading up to the move. The estimates they give are based on your inventory, so as long as you have done your work, the amount you pay will be spot on.
My wife and I had a few very large items that had to be navigating through some tight spots. The crew did a good job of getting everything out of the old house and loaded on the truck. Our new house also had a tight stairway to the upper floor which caused some problems with a dresser, but the guys got it done. A few scrapes were left on the side of the dresser, but I can't really fault the movers. I know that I could never have gotten the dresser up those stairs.
Overall, the crew was friendly and honest. I would definitely hire them again.

"Even though you have opted not to use us again, I really do appreciate your review. I am so sorry you had a negative experience with us. We do our best over here to make each move a great one, and to see that you were unhappy really does have a negative effect on us internally as well. This was a move when we had days of rain and wind, and that is truly the worst case scenario when we are out there moving. Our pads get wet and become unusable, and our men were more than likely wet and worried about running out of dry pads. This was the 2nd move of the day for that crew as well as the 3rd straight day of rain. Please send me a photo of your coffee table. I will be happy to send out our Restoration Specialist and he will repair the scratch for you!"
