Charm City Movers

The movers did a great job. We were moving out of our downtown apartment and into a house in Baltimore County. The guys arrived early, quickly packed up our apartment, including disassembling a bed, and we were on our way. Once at our new house, they quickly unloaded the truck and put all of our items in the appropriate room. Overall, they did a great job. I'd recommend them to anyone, and we would use them again.

The crew arrived 15 minutes early and got started right away. They were organized and efficient with moving everything out of our condo. One thing i did have to mention was to make sure they were looking at the boxes that were labeled "fragile" but once I did, the issue was taken care of. They were quick moving everything into our single family and were careful with floors, walls, etc. I would definitely use them again in the future.

From my very first phone call with CCM up until the very last piece of furniture was moved into our new residence I was overly impressed by the entire organization. Felix and the entire company at Charm City Movers helped to make our move wonderful. They think of everything and are so organized and keep communicating with you throughout the entire process. I have worked with other moving companies in the past and they do not even compare. Charm City Movers deserves an award for being such a great company! Moving is so stressful and I was unbelievably relaxed during the entire process thanks to the detail orientated and courteous staff.

The movers arrived 45 minutes early, so we weren't completely prepared for them. They were fast and friendly, but they only padded the furniture once it was on the truck which left it exposed. One of the movers dropped a box full of breakable stuff, but generally they were careful and didn't drop stuff. However, they broke the top of the rail along the stairs - it was made of wood - and nicked the walls in a couple of places - this could have been avoided if the furniture had been padded before leaving the place. They had a hard time moving an entertainment unit, but ultimately were able to do it.

Charm City Movers were an absolute delight to work with. They showed up on time, explained their procedure, and let us sit back and relax while they did all the hard work. All four men were incredibly polite toward my husband and myself and informed us of every bit of damage they saw to the furniture and to the walls. As opposed to previous movers we had hired who dragged their feet on the job, they were quick and efficient, without compromising safety. Upon arrival at the new house, they were very fast to get things exactly where we wanted them, and when we needed a few things moved, they did it without one word of complaint. Our futon was very difficult to get downstairs, to the point where Danny needed to take it apart to get it down there. He had no problem with doing so, and reassembled it perfectly after getting it safely into the basement. I would gladly hire them again in the future, and will recommend them to those I know who are planning to move. Their pricing system of charging by the piece rather than by the hour meant that they had incentive to get our job done quickly, and we were moved into our new home and unpacking in four hours - as opposed to previous movers who had taken 6 1/2 hours to move from a one bedroom apartment. The professionlism of the movers also impressed me. I don't think I heard a single swear word out of their mouths throughout the entire move. Trust me, it would have been well deserved during the futon struggles! They also kept my husband and me informed every time they had to remanuver something and asked any time they were uncertain. We were very happy with the service we received, and would recommend them to all who are looking for professional movers with fair pricing.

Charm city movers were great from start to finish. Felix responded rapidly to my inquiry for a quote and was pleasant to work with. She checked in frequently in the booking process to make sure everything was smooth. She worked with us to customize the price of the move based upon individual items (rather than by the hour), so we could price everything out ahead of time and reduce costs by moving some items on our own. Quentin and his team were incredibly professional. Although they arrived slightly after the 8AM estimated time, they called promptly at 8:10 and notified us of the delay. Once there, the team was fast to act, but very careful with a number of our antique pieces. Quentin also welcomed my questions about packaging, and brought me onto the truck to see how everything was being handled. As each piece came out, members of the team pointed out flaws in the pieces so that we could clearly track anything that got damaged during the move to request subsequent repairs. In spite of the 90 degree heat, the team was running up the stairs to unload our stuff taking only short water breaks. As of yet, we haven't noticed any damage, but were very reassured with their garuntee of a furniture restoration service should any damages be noticed. I will definitely use Charm City movers (and hopefully Quentin's team) on our next move.

It started out well. Four movers came on time. Things went south when the lead mover stated he did not want to move 3 large items up the stairs. When I told him how to do it (by angling the items) he became irritated. I showed him how to remove the short railing to help, but he refused. The other three movers followed his lead. I called the manager and the manger said that if we gave him a tip, they would move them. The leader said he usual gets the tips without removing screws. A few days later I moved one mattress and removed the screws myself. I called the manager about thi , who then had me send them pictures. Overall this was all very stressful. She said she would call me on Monday about this, but did not show up until Wednesday. They said they would send people out on the weekend since they do not want to come out on a weekday with all the traffic. I asked that they send my money back since the job was not completed, and I used someone else. They said they may only send $100 back.

After moving 6 years ago and having a terrible experience, I was a little hesitant in hiring movers again. I did some research and called Charm City Movers. They responded to me quickly and sent and itemized estimate. Chris checked in with me to confirm the move and the box count. He was great to work with and the crew he brought with him that morning was great. They had everything out of my Owings Mills apartment within 45 minutes. After it was all said and done, my move to the city took about 2 hours total. Great service and I would recommend them to anyone. And, I will definitely be calling them the next time I move.

They arrived on time and they sized up the job quickly. They moved very fast and completed the move in less than 3 hrs. Very heavy boxes were no problem. One tiffany type globe broken and scratches on book shelves.

Although they were very responsive and punctual, they appeared to have little or no experience moving furniture. They damaged one of the pieces significantly. They did not cover the furniture with any protective blankets, etc., nor did they take their time so as to avoid damage to the pieces. They appeared to be rushing to finish as fast as they could.

This organization is top notch from start to finish! The process of setting up the appointment was a breeze, even with it being the week of Thanksgiving! The moving team that came to complete the move was AMAZING! They made quick work of the items we had to move and were very pleasant and helpful at every stage. The only issue (if you could call it that) was that they arrived an hour early so we weren't completely ready for them but they got started on the items we had ready and we completed what we needed to as they moved the other items.

Fantastic from start to end. They made it so easy- did everything by phone, the estimate and order were a breeze. They were great. On moving day, Chris and the crew were fantastic- they moved some extremely heavy stuff (gym equipment) with no problem at all. They were all very friendly, competent, and professional. And all done very quickly and at a very reasonable price. I was referred to them by a friend who told me about them and he was right.

Getting a couple of things out of my place required some pretty amazing work on their part (had to go over 3rd floor balcony since it wouldn't fit out the door). The only down side was I was charged an extra $100 up front because the apt building I move into was a lot of walking for them the time before but for my move I secured the loading dock and my door is right across from the loading elevator so there really wasn't any additional walking. All in all I was really happy with their work but I feel like they could've knocked that additional charge off (I didn't directly ask them to though)

Great. It was easy to set up the move, and the movers were on time, on budget, and extrmely pleasant. A fine company.

I had to move twice due to my new home not being ready and my old home already being sold. The first time we moved we used another compan6 and they added charges tot he final bill that were not discussed ahead of time. the second time we called Charm City Movers and they explained there are never hidden charges as they don't charge by the hour as most companies. They showed up on time, worked extremely hard all day and put everything where I asked them. They were friendly and polite and the best group of guys you could hope to have help you move. At the end of the day, the price was exactly what they quoted me. I would definitely use them in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an honest, hard working moving company.

It was great. Everyone at Charm City was friendly, helpful and polite. Their movers were fast, careful, and good. Their prices were wonderful. They finished the entire move in about 3 hours. It was a great experience. I will use Charm City again when my parent's move to their new house next spring.

Charm City Movers was the best moving company we've ever used (and we've used several over the years). We called them on short notice and they provided us an accurate and fair price quote very quickly and scheduled us for the job. They did not require a deposit in advance, showed up on time, charged me exactly what they said they'd charge, were polite, courteous, respectful and experienced movers. They did not damage anything and got a large moving job done quickly and without any issues. My family will be moving again within the next 6 months and we will absolutely be using them again. We called Charm City Movers because our previous movers canceled with less than 12 hours notice. Charm City movers were able to schedule our move in 24 hours time. They were a life-saver in their responsiveness and punctuality. Instead of paying by the hour, you pay by the piece. We didn't have a lot of pieces, but it was about $100 more expensive than some of the companies quotes that charge by the hour. The movers were on-time and very efficient. It took them around 3-4 hours what would have taken my husband and I all day to move. They did bump a few walls/doorways in the new place but it was nothing significant. Everything made it to the new place in one piece.

I booked a few weeks in advance and had the first slot of the day, 8am. The guys were a few minutes late (<10), but they came in and got right to work. I have a lot of stuff, and I packed in small boxes so I could move things around myself if needed. The guys didn't even blink at it and were taking 2 and 3 of my boxes at a time. They loaded up an entire 2 bedroom, ~1000 square foot apartment in less than an hour, drove to my new place and unloaded it all in another hour. By 10am, they were waving goodbye and off to the next job. This morning was already miserably hot and they worked steadily the whole time, were polite and professional. I couldn't be happier with the service.

Chris Halle and his team of two other guys moved our entire 3-bedroom townhouse that was loaded with a lot of big, heavy furniture in just a hair over three hours from start to finish new had never seen movers with so much energy that sometimesn they literally would run (safely) while carrying fairly heavy loads from the house to the truck. Everything was moved respectfully and carefully and Chris and his guys were very friendly and extremely hard-working. The price was almost too good to be true, but it was, and Chris only charged as much as he quoted over the phone. All in all, a much more enjoyable moving experience than we ever though was possible.

Everything went very smoothly. They priced according to the items that were to be moved. We had to change the list numerous times (including up until the day before the move so we were in contact with Felix on a Sunday) and Chris and Felix worked with us. They were on time and moved everything incredibly efficiently. The guys couldn't have been nicer and even when we were arranging some things in the new apartment, they'd tell us to stop so they could do it for us. The entire move was done in a little over 2 hours from 8 a.m. to a bit after 10 a.m. After this experience, our family wouldn't use anyone else to do the move. I picked the company based only on the Angie's List reviews and was not steered wrong!

We contacted Charm City movers about moving our new office location from its existing spot to a new building. They had one week notice. Felix worked with myself and my assistant every single day and took multiple trips to the office for the purpose of ensuring a correct inventory and planning the move as thoughtfully as possible. On the day of the move, everything wen't wrong. The elevators weren't functioning at the old space and the new space and the doors were locked at the old space. Felix's team did not miss a single beat and did not stop working no matter what was going on. When the elevators broke, they simply took the stairs instead of standing aroud saying "what do we do now boss?". The temperatures were 105 that day, and it's certain that nobody felt like working to full potential, but they did anyways. The move took half a day longer than expected, likely due to the down time from elevators and access issues, and they didn't give me a hard time about coming back the next day to move the remaining items into storage. They all just had a geuine "get it done" attitude. Even when our staff decided to redecorate mid-move, they simply put the items where directed and kept going. Overall the experience was more than pleasant considering the scale of the move. I found that Felix did a wonderful job of both coordinating her men and also of makig sure we had enough movers. Because of her planning, we had movers assembling at one location, and other movers loading storage lockers. What could have took 3 days took a day and a half, even with setbacks. While we hope that we never move again, if we do we will use Charm City without a doubt. As a matter of fact, because of the staff's "redecorating" (Again) we will be having Charm City back out for one more game of musical desks......
