Dave at Baltimore Housewrights did a fantastic job on several small carpentry/handyman projects on my investment property. His price was reasonable, his work was excellent, and his demeanor was professional and courteous. He perfumed all of the work in a timely fashion, finishing my project without interruption and before moving on to something else. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Description of Work: multiple interior carpentry projects, repaired broken garage door

Dave Welsh was recommended to me by my plumber, Pat O'Neal of O'Neal Plumbing (another excellent company who I will also recommend). I can sum up all the details of the project in a few sentences. Dave designed the kitchen and completed the project with one helper and a few subs. He came in AHEAD OF SCHEDULE and UNDER BUDGET. They cleaned up the work area every day and kept all dust and debrise contained within the area they were working in. Throughout the entire project, we were never without working appliances to prepare meals. In fact, we did not eat out once. We went through the budget each week to see where we were with expenditures for labor and materials. Everything was transparent. The whole process was enjoyable and non-stressful. We also worked with Dave's wife, Ann C. Spooner, who is a certified Interior Designer (whom I will also give a separate recommendation.. She gave us excellent advise on color and material choices that really brought the whole project together.
Description of Work: My galley kitchen was completely gutted and was transformed from a 1960s kitchen with apple green formica countertops and yellow cabinets that had green apple pulls (very kitchy) into an open, elegant designer kitchen. The wall above the countertop between the kitchen and dining room was opened-up and a beautiful, rounded granite countertop now extends from the kitchen out slightly into the dining room. Glass-door, white wood cabinets are hung between the kitchen and dining room and are accessible from both rooms. A 5 x 8 room off the kitchen whose sole purpose used to be to hold the refrigerator now has floor to ceiling cabinet with glass doors. A granite countertop expands the length of the wall. Dave was able to take mine and my husband's vision and make it so much more. He is not only an excellent craftsman, but also an artist with an excellent designer's eye. He continued to make suggestions that not only saved us money, but took the project to a whole new level. He refurbished and painted all the walls, trim, backdoor, and windows in the kitchen, small room off the kitchen, downstairs bathroom and dining room of this 1923-built house. All new spotlight and task lighting was installed in the kitchen and adjoining room including undercabinet lighting. Wood floors were installed and finished to match the original wood floors throughout the home.
