AC wasn't producing cold air on the first hot day of the year. Amazing Heating and Air was called on a weekend and I received a quick professional response within an hour of leaving a message a message on their answering service. We quickly set up an appointment for a tech visit the next business day. The day of the visit I was given a 4hr window for the service and the tech arrived in the early part of the window. Dave quickly diagnosed the problem and very clearly laid out the options for repairing the problem. The system was low on R22 refrigerant and he indicated the price would be $356 to recharge up to 2lbs of refrigerant (330 with a coupon). I was pretty shocked by this price since the last time I had the system serviced 2 years ago the recharge fee was only 30$ / 2lbs (while I was under a 199$ year service contract with another company). Dave explained very clearly that he big price difference was a result of the EPA phasing out R22 and the supply shortage caused by this process. The other options for repair included leak detection/leak repair or completely upgrading the system to the new refrigerant which I declined. Overall I feel like they did a great job, were professional, prompt and courteous but also have a tiny feeling that I could have gotten a better price if I asked around a bit. I won't know for sure if the recharge fixed the problem until it gets a little hotter, but I'm pretty confident in their work.

Woke up and the thermostat was set at 68* and it was reading 62*. Brrr! I called Amazing, and they had someone available right away, but I was on my way to work. They were very flexible with my time frame and sent someone within the window of time that I gave them! Turns out the hot surface ignitor was cracked, and the tech had one on his truck and fixed it right away! Steve was very personable and friendly! He even pet the cat! The $50 Angie's List coupon in the booklet was helpful or this fix would have been bit pricey! I will definitely call Amazing HVAC again and recommend them to anyone who asks! Thanks!

Steve was very helpful and punctual. He showed up on time, is friendly, and gets the job done. I'm very thankful for Amazing HVAC.

it went well. There aren't a lot of places that I could find to do this because teh unit in my house is a commercial unit (previous owner was a contractor). It was more expensive than I hoped it would be but isn't everything

Our A/C was not pumping cool air during a heat wave. The folks at Amazing were willing to fit us in on short notice. The service tech came out, inspected the entire system. Recommended a freon recharge and a service plan. He did the work and we signed up for the maintenance plan. In no time, our A/C was pumping cool air again. Great work!

The guy that came was very nice and explained everything very well. He checked on the whole system and had a detailed list of everything he did. While he was here he wore protective boots over his shoes to keep my floors clean. He also explained extra offers but he didn't put any pressure on me. He was very courteous, and did a thorough job.

When the tech came out, he said the contract would be $295 because we have an oil furnace. He told me that the price depends on the type of furnace. The manager, Steve, had several opportunities to explain there would be a price difference depending on the type of furnace when I spoke to him. The tech got me in touch with dispatch at the company, but she didn't have any authority to help me and just explained that is the normal price of the contract with an oil furnace. The service tech was very nice, but I felt that I was a victim of a bate and switch. The head of the service department went over the cost of the contract and should have disclosed the differences in price depending on the type of furnace, but he didn't. So, when the service tech came out and told me the price was different, I was quite put off. I paid $75 for the service that was completed, which did not include servicing the coils, but I did not sign up for the service contract. The tech wanted to charge me $99 for checking wires and temperature gauges, but there would be an additional charge to service the coils of $70. I paid him $75 for his time, travel, and the work he did perform.

Their service was good. They worked well with me because I had to spread their work out to deal with other projects.

I find it difficut to rate Amazing high enough. Their service was superior. From, Don, the sales person, to each member of the installation team. They said they would be there at 8:00 am; and they were. They said it would take a full day, well it is an older house, so by 4 it was clear they had several hours still to go. Nonetheless, they called their wives to say they woud be late. I told them to go home to their families, the weather wasn't that bad and I could wait. They came back the next day, I had to go to work, so I left a key for them--I HAVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE, AND I DOUBT I WILL FIND ANOTHER COMPANY I TRUST THAT MUCH IN THE FUTURE. Nonetheless, I came back from lunch and they were finishing up, and they went over everything with me. A week later I had a couple, of questions. Don left a message saying that he would be available until 11pm! I called the next day, he had someone at my home that evening at my convenience. Went over everything and answered my questions. I called back a couple of days later to ask about how to apply for the BGE rebate. He e-mailed me with the information I needed to send him and he would take care of it. An Amazing company.

I came home from being away and found my AC was not working in August. I contacted Amazing HVAC who I have used before and they came out in a couple days first thing in the morning like I request, despite weather being especially rainy and stormy. The serviceman diagnoised and fixed the problem within 90 minutes with a part he had on the truck. He was very courteous and explained everything so I could understand fully. Because I have used this company for service maintenance and repair work on my HVAC unit with very good results, I plan on signing up for a maintenance plan to cover me throughout the year.

The salesperson, Don, came to my home the day before the install. He was late but very apologetic. He reviewed his company's history and policies. After he examined my furnace, he told me what the replacement would entail. He answered all my questions and gave me additional information. He told me that the team would be at my home by 7:30 the next morning and they were. Several men came because many tasks had to be done so the work could be completed in one day. The old furnace and tank were chopped and removed. The chimney liner was placed in the chimney. Gas lines were connected and the new furnace was installed. All the radiators had to be bled. The men worked continuously and efficiently. When I came down to inspect the final work, the basement was clean. Not a single particle was left to show all the activity that had gone on all day. When the worker had to come into the rest of my house to bleed the radiators, he was polite and very careful with my furniture and adornments. All the workers were professional in both their demeanor and work performance. I am very satisfied with the work They showed me how to work the thermostat and what I should look out for as the furnace ages. The only thing that caused me concern was the hole left in my dining room wall after they took down the old thermostat and replaced it with the new one, Anyone having this work done on an old house should know that they are going to need to patch the wall or place a cover over the hole. I would have appreciated the heads up during the initial meeting. Overall, it was a very good experience. I will certainly call them again without hesitation.

The company's responsiveness was impressive (less than 24 hours), and the technician was very knowledgeable. However, pricing was over the "fair market rate" by THOUSANDS of dollars, or a factor of nearly 3x. I would NEVER, EVER call this company again, and I would strongly discourage anyone else from doing so. All of the technician's preliminary findings pointed to a freon link inside and a dirty coil on the outdoor unit. No other service was included in the $100+ service fee. For him to actually find the leak, he'd have to perform a "leak search" that would cost another $200+. Assuming it turned out to be on the coil, he quoted me $3 GRAND to fix it, another $300 to clean the outdoor coil on the ground floor, and another $300 to top off the freon. If I wanted him to jump up on the roof and hose off the top unit's coil, that would cost another $600 due to "difficult access" (even though I have a hose bib on my top deck). I then tried another company, JLS Services, which charged $1285 to fix the coil and top off the freon. Their initial $85 service fee included the leak search, and they charged another $85 to clean the outdoor coil on BOTH my top and bottom units. Had I chosen Amazing to do all of these services, I would have paid $4,400 versus $1,370, which I believe is the fair market rate.

Initial call was handeled efficiently and pleaantly, non-emergemcy service scheduled at convenient time. A couple of days prior to schedule recevied a call that there was an opening and they could be over early. Steve showed up shortly thereafter and provided first rate service as described above and a bit of information about the neighborhood we have just moved into. Everything is working much more efficiently after the servcie than before.

They always get the job done right the first time. They are always professional and were even open over the July 4th weekend and came out! I will never call anyone else, ever!

I was disappointed that two appointments with Amazing HVAC for an estimate were missed. ?More importantly, I was not contacted in a timely fashion to reschedule either one. ?The first appointment was missed without notice, but with a phone call the next morning, the second one was missed when, after waiting 45 minutes past the scheduled time,?I had to leave the house. Again, no call until the agent apparently showed up and left a card.? I won't be using Amazing HVAC, not because they don't do good work, or use good equipment, or charge too much, but because they simply wouldn't notify me if a scheduled appointment couldn't be kept.

The day before they were supposed to start work on a one-day job, the owner came out and decided that it was going to cost much more (an extra $2,000 approx.). He was not willing to negotiate and gouged me at the last second. He tried to blame his estimator as opposed to taking accountability. I told him that I would use a different company.

Steve's professional, prompt, and good about calling to explain the problem (both times I was at work and my roommate was onsite). HVAC service isn't cheap, but this company does good work (don't need to call them again for the same problem), is neat (no mess to clean afterwards) and explains clearly what's going on. At first, in the second call, it seemed like it was just the humidifier pad, but the pipe also turned out to be cracked. Steve has said that he would look for the pipe and let me know how much it is for the part and replacement. I also like that I can get an appointment pretty quickly (next day) with this company. They're not the cheapest service, but I do feel that I receive quality service.

These people seem not to associate quality of service vs charges. They could care less how much service time was charged vs quality of their product. I got the feeling they could care less about their reputation; focused more on their profits. There was no absolutely no reasoning with them; I still have a tape recording of the extended telephone message their co-owner left me. She severely chastized me for questioning the quality of the work performed. Since no one has ever accused me of such a thing, I felt the need to preserve that message (to have proof as to the rough treatment I received).

I called them up on a Wednesday afternoon and they scheduled me for the next morning at 7am. In other words - very short lead time. The serviceman showed up right on time at 7am and was very friendly and courteous. He didn't mind that I watched him work and ask questions too. The price was a bit high for such quick and easy work so that would be my only complaint with this company.

I did not use them. From start to finish, it was frustrating. They were very nice, but from the beginning, scheduling was a nightmare which is why I didn't go with them.

Having just moved into our new home over a sweltering holiday weekend, we quickly discovered that the A/C was not working properly. We called Amazing -- local to our new neighborhood -- in desperation after a quick Angie's List search. The person on duty after regular business hours provided helpful advice and set up an appointment for the following morning. The first fix was not sufficient, but Amazing sent another tech over as soon as one was available later the same day. Both techs -- Anthony and Steve -- were courteous and knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all our questions and explain the problems and potential solutions. We intend to use their services from now on.

The guys arrived on time and were quickly able to diagnose why my air conditioner wasn't running. They did a great job fixing my unit and it's been running great.

I was very happy they were able to come out the same evening for a routine service. The tech arrived towards the end of the service window, but I know traffic and other things were very bad the day before Thanksgiving. He arrived and got right to work, and answered quite a few questions about the heating system. The tech noticed some things were hooked up incorrectly right away and took care of it. He also gave me some basic tips on keeping things in top shape. I opted for the 2-visit service contract as I think a lot of people do, since its about the same price as the two visits. Price wise I think they're in the same ballpark as a lot of HVAC companies, but definitely not high or overpriced. The value was excellent as I'm happy to pay for good service.
