I was terribly overcharged. The plumber took 30 minutes to replace a toilet with one I already owned. $525 was ridiculous according to everyone who commented on the job.

I tried calling another company who could not come out and do the repairs but Shipley was able to come out quickly and got it done in about two or three days. They were very nice and matter of fact were out the next day initially to take measurements. We were able to get this repaired before Thanksgiving arrived and I would highly recommend them. Even their prices were much better and the owner was great to work with as he was aware of me being a heart transplant patient. I even treated them to lunch and I would definitely hire them again.

Most Horrible and unprofessional company I have ever seen. I called the Shipley about the pricing for Replacing the Freeze-Resistant Anti-Siphon Sillcock, and they told me that plumber need to come to the home to check out and give the estimate. Never during the call with there representative, told me that I have to pay $75 for them to come to my house to give the estimate. Most of the other companies give you free estimate either on the phone or they visit and give the estimate. I had made it very clear to them, that I need the pricing estimate for the plumbing job. When there plumber came home and gave me a $75 bill for coming to the house, I was shocked. I told the plumber that, I was never told about the service call fees, and he would not listen me and told very rudely that I need to pay for the bill. I had no other option but to pay them. Next day I also called the Company again regarding the Service Fee and told them that there representative never told me about the $75 fee, The gentleman on the call told me he will check the phone records and call me back. TO THIS DAY I am still waiting for there call about the Service Fee. It was such a horrible experience. I will always caution other people to ask them clearly about all the fees, before calling them

Problem was quickly resolved. Too much time spent on trying to sell me annual home maintanence packages that I did not want. Also, price quote for a future project was way out of wack!

I had to shut off the water main to stop the flow of water from the broken pipe and started calling around for who could come and do the repair as soon as possible. Shipley was responsive and asked questions about my general heating status and comfort, which was appreciated. They gave me an early appointment the next morning. Patrick arrived on time, assessed the problem, discussed the options and made the agreed-upon repair right away. Very professional and courteous throughout. He also gave me information on their pricing plans, which cut my repair costs that day significantly. By noon, he had finished, cleaned up, processed the payment and life was back to normal for me, except for some missing drywall in the ceiling of the basement, which I'll have repaired soon by someone else. An excellent experience overall and I plan to use them again.

It was done quick and it does nt leak anymore

The plumber arrived on time and did a good job confirming the source of the leak and advising on what would need to be fixed. We did not contract with them to fix the leak only because it required a larger remodel of the bathroom that we ended up doing through a general contractor.

The work was completed in a very efficient and professional manner. The workers were professional and courteous.

We use them all the time. They are professional and they did a good job.

Excellent service and informative employees. While speaking with Jim about their services and to schedule an appointment, Jim shared information about the variety of maintenance and member plans available. Although, the technicians arrived later in the day than originally scheduled I immediately realized that Taylor and Jake were dedicated to their craft. Taylor proved to be an informative and educational technician. He analyzed each scenario that I presented, then immediately analyzed the possible causes (faucet leak, continuous water flowing into toilet, water pressure issue in another toilet). He identified and either fixed or provided a solution for each situation. In addition, Taylor provided useful recommendations for my consideration for the future (preventive measures). I commend Taylor for his professionalism, commitment to high quality customer service and attention to detail. I commend Shipley for hiring Taylor and recognizing Taylor's talents. I have already researched the Toto Drake toilets that Taylor mentioned and will likely schedule an appointment to replace two toilets. I learned a great deal about plumbing issues in my home and that enhanced my great day. Thank you Taylor.

The leak was successfully fixed. Even though it was not an easy job, the original quote was what we were charged. That was a very pleasant surprise. We could tell it was a challenging job and the plumber (Taylor) was excellent. Taylor was patient and meticulous and explained everything. When he finished, he showed us what was done. He left the work area spotless. We would definitely recommend Shipley for plumbing needs. We haven't tried them yet for heating and air so are not able to rate that.

The plumber was professional and did an excellent job identifying the problem. He made sure he laid out all the costs prior to commencing work and honored the coupon I had mentioned when I had called to schedule the appointment. The repair involved some parts, which he had on his truck. Overall, he did a great job and I would definitely use Shipley again.

We are on a monthly contract with them. We are paying them every month. There prices are steep and have wondered if this is the right fit because of that. The routine stuff is an A but I had a big job done and what I thought was a illogical and ultimately much more costly method with determining a leak in a water main. Some of there stuff is A but some of it isn't.

We've been dealing with Shipley for years, and we'd highly recommend them. They always do a quality job, their plumbers are knowledgeable and experienced, and they always have someone out shortly after we call because we pay additional fees to be a gold star customer.

We called them because our furnace went out on the weekend and needed a tech who would come out right away. Spoke with Mr. Shipley, who was helpful and arranged for tech to come out. Tech came out promptly and spent a couple of hours trying to figure out what happened. The furnace reset itself naturally and the tech couldn't get it to fail again. Not three weeks later, the same thing happens except that the furnace won't reset. I called Shipley up, expecting them to stand behind their work since I paid them over $350 to fix my furnace. The man with whom I spoke said "too bad" and that I'd have to pay them the premium rate just to come out again. I told him that's fraud because you were out here a few weeks ago. He said that if his work (which was what, exactly?) was flawed, the furnace would have showed a problem by now. I said the only thing Shipley had was that there wasn't enough gas coming from the meter. Pepco tech showed up about an hour later and disagreed (walked me through his measurements, even), but increased the flow anyway. So, if he increased the flow (which was basically "the furnace looks fine, it must be something else" reasoning), why would it repeat itself? I have no issues with Mr. Shipley or the tech's conduct. I have major issues with the follow-up. If you can't figure it out and it comes back, you should be willing to try again especially now that it's offline so you can see what you couldn't see last time. What if we were out of town and this kicked off? Think pipes . . . and litigation. Bottom line: find someone else, even if it's a freezing Sunday morning.

Each time they came out, I spent about $800 and we thought it was fixed and then they had to come back out because it wasn't. Ultimately, I ended up paying almost as much as it would have cost to purchase a whole new HVAC unit. The total cost was about $3,000 to repair my unit. I called the company and complained at the end of the experience. The sales person was very rude and actually cussing at me. I finally got in touch with the owner and he ended up doing the last little bit of work and fixing my unit. They decided to wave the last fee (about $450), but they did not warranty their work. Luckily, I haven't had any problems with my system since their work. I also, regretfully, signed up for a seasonal maintenance plan for $200 at the beginning of the experience when I thought they had fixed the problem.

Very pleased to have found Shipley Plumbing. Responded in an emergency situation, so we did pay a bit of a premium, but it was well worth it. Milton listened carefully to what the issues were and investigated the plumbing layout of our home to be sure the issue was completely resolved. He and his associate were conscious of keeping the house clean and left it spotless where they had worked. I'm very happy to highly recommend Shipley Plumbing to others in our community. Thank you.

They did a whole house plumbing inspection and a water heater flush.

I did have a monthly year long contract with them, it was about $19.00 a month, but if they came out they would give me a discount. They were extremely expensive though.

Service call charge was $45.00. After ~5 minutes examination, I was informed that the shower faucet could be repaired for $497.00. I thought the charge was excessive but needed it fixed because we had guests coming out of town that evening. I could not wait to arrange for another plumber. He completed the repair in less than ~15 minutes. The Repair man could not give me a reasonable explanation why I was charged $497.00 for a job that required less than 15 minutes of labor. He merely told me that it was not up to him and that the amount of the bill was set by his boss in the office. This is my first time writing this sort of review. I may be wasting valuable time on this vexing issue but had to do it because I feel that I was ripped-off and do not want another homeowner to be taken advantage as I was.

Great, he was on time & quickly diagnosed the problem and gave several options for resolving the issue.
