He stinks. He did not tell us, first time homebuyer, about the roof, no drywall behind new cabinets, etc. The builder/seller seem to be in on this together and neither would respond or resolve the situation. Do not trust this company at all

I would not recommend Mike Hurley as your home inspector. Mike and I worked together in October 2019 for my 3,000 sq ft home. While the inspection appeared throughout due to its length, after a few weeks in the house found issues that Mike did not find or report to my, a first-time home buyer. Mike missed two huge issues, plumbing problems in the basement and knob-and-tube electrical wiring through the house. In the first few weeks in the house we experienced extensive pipe clogging because Mike did not notice the sizing issues of our exposed basement PVC pipes. We subsequently paid hundred of dollars in equipment, repairs, and plumber visits. The second major issue that Mike missed was the knob-and-tube wiring throughout the house. This type of outdated wiring is a safety hazard and should have been noticed. To make this problem even worse, when we noticed the issue we immediately reached out to Mike. He initially told us that it was his fault he missed this and that his insurance would cover the cost of repairs. After weeks off back-and-forth and then his insurance company denying his claim, Mike stopped communicating with us entirely. Due to the safety concerns we moved ahead with the repairs without Mike and we are not spending thousands of dollars to make our home safe. It is especially frustrating that Mike admitted his mistake and then stopped communicating with us to get it fixed. The purpose of a home inspector is to make any homeowner, and especially a new homeowner, aware of all possible issues with their home. Mike did not provide this service and I do not recommend him to others.

Mike was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! He was incredibly thorough, walked me through step-by-step to explain things that were wrong with the house and things that I needed to know, and carefully answered all questions to ensure that I understood what was happening and why it was an issue. He was flexible, easy to book, incredibly professional, and was willing to take me to any areas of the house that I was willing to go. The inspection of my home could be dirty and difficult in certain spaces--particularly under the deck and in the crawlspace--but Mike slipped on a pair of coveralls and made sure that he inspected literally every square inch of the property. When he found something wrong, he not only documented it carefully, but also made sure to show me so that I could set eyes on what was wrong. I am a first-time homebuyer, and I have to say that his inspection taught me a great deal about my future property, and further put me at ease about the home-buying process. I would HIGHLY recommend him to ANYONE, as you will get the most out of your money paid for the inspection and will receive the inspector's report within 24 hours. He is absolutely unbeatable!

The question is what didn't he do, and honestly I cannot answer that because he was so thorough and explained things to me in just a clear concise way. I had a million and one questions, and he had so much patience with each and every single one, answering them. I am sure it was because of me that the inspection lasted longer than it normally might have, but this is my first true home and I wanted to know everything, no detail to be spared. Mike Hurley was truly fantastic and found things that many may have overlooked. He truly looks out for the buyers interests and wants us to move into a home that is safe for our family. I cannot recommend him enough for any and all home inspection needs. I have had friends do many home inspections through the years and from what they have told me, none were as great or thorough, so I feel truly lucky in my experience. If you need a home inspection, this is your man. Truly. It went great!

Mike was incredibly thorough and professional. He explained everything to me in great detail; he is a real expert. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs a home inspection. He submitted his inspection report to me on the same day he performed the inspection. He was prompt, trustworthy, and attentive to detail.

Mike showed up on time and was very friendly. He answered all the questions we had and addressed all of our concerns. Mike also showed us where are of the shut off valves/switches were for the house. We received the final report quickly, and it was very detailed with photos included of all corrections that needed to be done. The quote he had given my husband over the phone was the same price we ended up paying, $350 for the home inspection and $125 for the radon.
