I had an awesome experience with We Repair Decks. No high pressure sell, just high quality work. Jonathon is the owner and he was on top of the job from start to finish.We had a pretty old deck area, and they replaced all of the flooring, hand rails, and steps. The workmen were very precise in laying it out and put a lot of extra care into the job. They also use a special sealant product that soaks deep into the wood and provides superior protection to the wood. They have applied this for me in the past and it definitely works well. Much better than other products I've used in the past. The screening system that they installed for me is high end and works much better than our old basic aluminum frame panels. The screening is heavy duty, and I was sceptical that anything could stand up to my dogs, but so far they haven't put a dent in the mesh. If they do, the new panels snap in and out, so repairs should be easy. When they were finished one of the screens had an edge that slipped out of the frame. Jonathon picked this up on his inspection after the job, and repaired it himself. I highly recommend this company. They did a great job! We recently moved into a new home and the deck clearly had not received any maintenance in a number of years and it was unsightly. They washed, sanded, and stained the deck in addition to some carpentry work to the frame and railings all while working around the unpredictable weather we had in the Fall. The deck looks awesome now and is no longer an unsightly feature of our backyard. I expanded the job to include power washing our siding and they did a great job on that as well. Their prices are slightly higher than some of the other quotes I received, but I was impressed with their expertise and their restoration technique that they explained to me (also explained on their website for those interested).

We truly enjoyed working with Jonathan. First off, he has a wonderful attitude which always gets our attention. Secondly, his knowledge of what he does and how meticulous he is with restoration is great. He explained everything to my husband clearly and my husband was in turn able to explain the process to me. We had 3 estimates and although Jonathan was not our lowest estimate, we felt that he would provide us with the best service. We are glad we chose him and we plan on keeping him for years to come. Our deck looks absolutely gorgeous considering Jonathan had to basically undo bad staining previously done for years prior to us purchasing our home a year ago. From a person who is very particular, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him.

We had just moved into our house & our insurance company notified us that our deck was not up to code & that they would drop our coverage (in ~45 days) if we did not make it up to code by adding spindles to the railing to make sure there weren't any gaps more than 4" of space. We decided to have werestoredecks do the work to bring it up to code as well as wash & stain it (as it looked like the deck had not had any treatment in several years). The carpentry work on the railings cost $873 (includes material costs) & Jonathan and his crew made it look great, natural & kept our sightlines through the railing of the beautiful woods behind our house. In terms of the washing/staining (which he did not personally do), Jonathan had told us that after treatment, the new wood would be hardly distinguishable from the old (~30 yrs) wood. Immediately after staining, the new wood looked way way lighter than the old wood. It didn't look terrible, but it was disappointing. We emailed Jonathan and he came out & took a look & agreed that it was much lighter than he expected too. He came out & had them paint it/stain it darker and now it looks 1000% better. You can definitely tell the difference between the old wood and the new now, but it matches much better (and we expected that they wouldn't be completely indistinguishable) and we are really happy with it. The washing/staining treatment is a little expensive ($1100), but Jonathan says that their treatment is longer lasting than most on the market (he said it should normally be done every 3-4 years using their treatment & because our deck is so shaded from the nearby trees, we might be able to wait even longer). We were very satisfied with all the work We Restore Decks did as well as their excellent costumer service.

I was very pleased with the work and professionalism of the owner and team. They left the yard clean and picked up after themselves and I believe that I received the best deck restoration I could for the money spent.

My sister said she might redo the deck so I won't use the guy. He gave me quotes but I didn't pursue it after that because I think I am just going to have my sister do it. He was very knowledgeable and he spent time explaining. It is a fairly big deck. I would recommend him just based on the initial visit. He had a book that he had pictures of other clients where he had done their decks so you could see the look. He could just tell, he looked at the condition of the wood on my deck. He said the previous person who had done the deck had done a good job. He wasn't in a rush and gave me different options. Instead of just giving me one price he gave me different options. I think he, based on, I think he has the experience. He was on time as far as coming out to my house to meet with me and I didn't feel rushed. He spent a lot of time looking at the deck and then going over the options with me, probably about a half hour. If my sister hadn't offered I would probably use him.

I chose We Restore Decks over several other bidders. They did work for my neighbor and came highly recommended. Jonathan, the owner, came promptly to see the deck and give me an estimate. He was enthusiastic about not just replacing worn parts of the deck but creating a more appealing outdoor space for us. They are a small company so I knew from the outset it would take two weeks for them to be free to start on my project. Because of constant heavy rain, they ran a week behind but kept me posted as to when they could start. Once they began, the project went quickly. The replacing of the deck floor and lattice work took a day and a half. There was another rain delay after the power washing before everything was dry enough to stain. They even came on the weekend to get the job done. I could not be more pleased with the results. Short cuts had been taken on our original deck but Jonathan corrected all of those to give the whole thing a more finished look and feel.

do Jeff forgot about our appointment, but came by after I called him to see if he was coming. He was apologetic and seemed friendly. He showed up on a motorcycle, so did not have any color samples, business cards, or a pen. He did explain the process he would do and why. He did spend some time showing me areas that would need special attention. Seemed informed, however I got three estimates from different contractors and each gave me a different view on what needed to be done for my deck. I asked him to send me the estimate the same business day if possible, because I had to make a prompt decision. He send me the quote after midnight and I had already contacted one of the other contractors as I was planning a deck party and wanted the job done in a timely manner. However, even if he had sent me the quote I would not have selected him because his price was double the company I used and I close to three times the other estimate I had gotten. I emailed him to inform him that I had selected another company. He sent me a very polite and professional response. He may have had an off day, regarding the business cards etc.

We cleaned everything off the deck and then they came and powerwashed it. They also powerwashed our upstairs porch. Then on the 8th, they came back and added a staining sealer to the deck. They told us not to walk on it for 24 hours and then it would all be fine. That's what we did. It all looks very nice.

Jonathan Shambarger and his crew were just what our 25 year old deck needed to make it look better than new. They removed the old deck floor, leaving only the basic structure under the deck and the vertical wood on the railing. All of the existing parts were finished with a solid stain, including the new top stair railing and overhead arbor. This contrasted with the penetrating oil stain used on the new deck flooring. The attention to detail and pride of workmanship of Jonathan and his crew is almost unheard of in this day and age.

From the first meeting which was a very thorough consultation to the actual work, these guys were top notch. We live in a condo unit on the third floor. Not only did they have to power wash our deck, they had to rinse and clean the decks and patios below. Not an easy job. All they asked was that I alert my neighbors and they'd take care of the rest. Well, they certainly did! They arrived as promised and got right to work power washing the deck with a foliage and pet safe brightener. After the deck dried, they came back to sand and stain. We had elected to have the rough spots sanded and not go for the full sanding. Didn't matter, We Restore did a thorough sanding and didn't charge us more. They used a very high quality stain and used A LOT of it. The stain they used will allow us to get another 3-4 years out of our deck before we have to replace it. What was really remarkable about these folks is that they gave us the honest truth. We were open to replacing the deck thinking that it was at the end of its natural life. Not only did Jonathan educate us on a variety of stains, he actually told us to keep the existing decking and just treat it. Ultimately that saved us about $1,000. You can bet that when we do replace the deck, he will be our first call. These guys are TOP NOTCH! They went above and beyond and really wanted to give us the best service and product. Not just sell us the most expensive thing.

All work was completed in a timely manner. Mr. Shambarger was very professional. The workmanship is very high quality. He addressed all my concerns. We feel his estimate was very fair and would highly recommend him.
